Bleh... first time and pretty sure it's my last. Service was good, they have a parking lot and the place is clean, which is good. The food....my first impression when I went to pick up my order: WTH is this???? Food for 5 people serve in paper bowls and to go containers AND it all fit on a small tray???!!!! I was very disappointed. Taste: Everyone thought it was fine. Our order: 2 Moco Locos, 2 kid's quesadillas, and 1 chicken plate lunch.

Nice and quiet air-conditioned place to stop by when it's hot outside if you're in the area. All of the food was good with friendly staff, and I appreciated how clean it was in there.

The taste was good but the food wasn't as warm as I expected. The meat was luke warm but the flavor is there.

First time coming here after the renovation/rebrand from Super Six! My friend and I came for brunch around 10am on a Sunday and there was plenty of seating available. It's open seating now, like the other Marination location downtown! You order food at the counter and give your number -- they text you when the food is ready and you pick it up at a window at the far end of the restaurant. It only took about 5 mins for me to get the text for my chicken and waffles. I've had it before at Super Six, and it really hit the spot. I love the creativity of the HK bubble waffle! But the chicken was somewhat hard to eat-- the crispy texture was a bit tougher to chew than expected and it was a bit dry inside. To order drinks, you have to go separately to the bar. I loved the lychee margarita. The frosé was good as well but a little sweet. The staff is all super duper nice :) we hung out for almost 2 hours eating and drinking. They didn't hurry us at all, and came to clear our plates/drinks multiple times. It started getting more crowded around 11:30 -- I think partially due to the Seahawks game. There are big TVs at the bar for you to watch the game! I'll definitely be back. So glad it's reopened!

Nice spot for happy hour but limited selections. The jalapeno fizz drink was good but not strong. Got the coconut malasada but wish it was the mango instead. Sliders tasted good but I probably wouldn't order it again had it not been for happy hour. I do enjoy the location, as there's plenty of parking, outdoor seating, additional seats upstairs and seats with street views. I think this would be a fun spot for groups!

The food (fish and chips and a pork katsu sandwich) was okay, nothing mind-blowing. Make sure you get a selfie with Jason Momoa!

Marination Station has opened it's latest in Columbia City. Go up to the counter, order what you like, and give them your phone number. Find a seat at the bar, the large tables downstairs, or one of the 4 person tables upstairs. When your order is ready, you'll get a text to pick it up at the kitchen windows near the bottom of the stairs. I've always liked Marination Station sliders, but today I decided to try the fish and chips. The fish was panko-crusted and tasty. The chips were thick and cooked just right, not too crisp or squishy. It came with two mini sets of miso-ginger tartar sauce, which was fantastic! Once I ran out, the rest of the meal was slightly disappointing. A bit of cole slaw would have added some nice variation in taste, temperature, and texture. The self-serve makes service much faster and more casual than the old Super Six. I'm still not sure if it's an up or downgrade, but I left happy.

Pretty quick service with indoor and outdoor seating. Grab your own water & utensils at the counters. Food was delicious and crispy!

Pleasantly surprised to see Marination in Columbia City! You order at the bar/counter, and you pick it up once the buzzer buzz. The food was delicious and perfect for the warm weather. I loved the Cole slaw and mac salad. I thought the Korean bulgogi and spice goes really well with the more subtle and quiet flavors of the slaw and Mac salad. It was good combination.

This location is totally disappointing! First time doing takeout here. Ordered extra protein for a salad. I maybe got an ounce of meat. The fish sandwich I ordered shouldn't even be on the menu. Small and overpriced.

I tried Super Six before and didn't love it, but wanted to give it another shot since its reopening as Marination. Sadly, it was a total miss for me. I went with the fish sando, which seemed great on paper but lazily put together. The miso tartar sauce was ice cold, the cheese was completely unmelted and the bun seemed like it was pulled straight out of a bag. The fish was fried well, but felt out of place with everything else. We also had the tocino bowl, which was flat out disastrous. As another reviewer pointed out, the fried rice sat in a pool of oil. How did they manage to do that? I didn't pick up of any of the advertised garlic flavors either. I have to add that the restaurant design feels awkward. We initially sat at the high tops by the window, but found they were way too close to the communal benches. Like, butts-next-to-your-head close. I recommend the bar instead.

My friends and I heard Marination opened in Columbia City and were excited to go! We loved the chill and laid-back vibes. You order up front and seat yourself. They have lots of indoor and outdoor seating. We got the Chicken and Waffles, Breakfast Tacos, Loco Moco, Tocino Bowl, and Pancakes. Everything was a little too salty and there was nothing super special about the breakfast tacos, loco moco, and the Tocino bowl. I think the pancakes were the best. The pancakes were very moist and I loved the macadamia butter and haupia syrup! I also think that their take on chicken and waffles is quite creative and should be given a try if you love a sweet and salty combo.

One finally came around to take the order. We ordered two Chicken Salads. We ended up waiting over 40 minutes for the Salads, I'm baffled that it took so long because nobody was in the restaurant and all the tables were eating or finishing up their meals. Again, no water refills, with 5 wait staff working (actually not working, just socializing) we had to call for more water. The waiter apologized twice that it was taking a long time to get two salads out. A restaurant's biggest expense is labor, health care benefits, and food costs. Instead of 5 wait staff, not working and only five customers, it baffles me how they can afford to have workers doing absolutely nothing. I managed a restaurant, I would have dismissed four waiters because there was zero business. If it did get busy, I would have stepped into assist. There needs to be more efficiency, with 5 customers and five wait staff, they are only making their hourly wages. The food was good, as we left they apologized again because they knew it wasn't right that we had to wait so long, I looked at them, four sitting at a table enjoying their employee meal.

Thankfully dine-in is back open again, so we got here on a Saturday morning around 11:20am to indoor seating that was nearly full and a small line that was forming at the front counter. Walls have a bunch of photo frames, and overall place felt very homely. They have a ton of Hawaiian style plates and even burgers and some seafood, though we and most others got the former to eat. I ordered their chicken and pork combo Hawaiian style plate, and my bestie got their chicken katsu Hawaiian style plate. Portions are huge for both plates and both also came with macaroni salad. They give you sooooo much meat no matter what you get. To go in slightly more detail: - Chicken and pork combo: both meats were flavored very well, and a little sweet too though pretty salty without using the rice as a palette cleanser. Chicken had more depth in its flavor; the pork's flavor was a little too much for my liking, and was slightly harder to chew. Both meats had some sauce hat went onto the rice itself. This didn't detract from my overall experience here, though. - Chicken katsu: we both agreed this was our favorite after exchanging pieces of each other's dish. The katsu is crispy and crunchy, and the chicken itself retained a lot of its juiciness. Katsu sauce on the side is honestly optional since the meat itself is already salty enough. This place does share extremely limited parking with Cakes of Paradise next door, so get here early or be prepared to drive around the area to find some. Just get here, it's a place you can't pass up when you hit up Georgetown!

Parking is scarce, so plan ahead and be patient. We came on a Wednesday and happened to score a parking spot right in front of the bakery. Once you arrive, get in line immediately--there will be one. The woman taking our order was incredibly peppy and friendly, even while juggling everything: taking in-person orders, answering phones, serving customers, and bagging food. Seriously impressive. All the seats were filled, so we ordered everything to-go. We got the famous crispy ginger chicken, spam musubi, and chicken long rice. I was hoping for oxtail soup and asked about it--she explained they only offer it on certain days and recommended calling early in the morning to check, then getting there quickly because it sells out fast. Can't wait to come back and try it. Back at the hotel, we feasted. The crispy ginger chicken is famous for a reason--so flavorful, perfectly crispy, and somehow even better the next day. The chicken long rice was packed with noodles directly in the soup (not separately) so the broth had mostly soaked into the noodles, but it was still deeply flavorful and comforting. The spam musubi leans on the sweeter side, which is great if that's your thing. Overall, this place is all about heart, hustle, and seriously satisfying Hawaiian comfort food. Come early, expect a line, plan for parking--and you'll be rewarded.

This was at 12:30PM and there was a long line out the door and around the corner, taking almost 30 minutes. I had previously visited on a rainy winter weekday for lunch and there wasn't a line at all. What a difference the day and weather can make! While in line we could see the chefs cutting up ahi fresh right in front. The longer line gave me time to chat with the owner as he was trimming off the skin and other bits. I learned that tuna skin is much tougher than salmon skin so can't be eaten like salmon skin chips. He also said that the trimmed parts can be taken for free if anyone wants them. Apparently they make good crab bait! Medium w/ Rice, Traditional Limu Ahi, Hamachi, Mac Salad ($21.50) - I love the Hamachi poke mix. It's fresh, tender, and buttery fish tossed in a creamy and slightly spicy sauce, filled with little briny pearls and plenty of aromatics giving a super umami bite. The Limu Ahi is very fresh as well - I mean, it's sliced right in front, and there's so much turnover of the food that's it's pretty much guaranteed fresh. The tuna is fresh and tender, but there's noticeably more sinew compared to the hamachi. The Mac Salad is also really good. It's super creamy and the macaroni isn't overcooked so it still has some bite. The rice is unfortunately the weakest item in the bowl. It's a little too dry for my tastes and is only lightly tossed with rice vinegar, giving a tangy flavor. Overall all the poke is fresh, the flavors all meld together into a delightful balanced bite, and the sauces are not overwhelming. Ono Poke definitely serves some great poke! The Hamachi is only available on weekends and the fish is so fatty it almost melts in your mouth with the creamy and tangy sauce. The Shoyu Salmon is incredibly succulent and just a classic knocked out of the park with a great balance of fresh, salty, and slightly sweet.
