Ducked in for a quick little snack while waiting for my train. It was a Tuesday night, and in spite of a Red Sox game in a few hours it was virtually empty. I made my way to the bar, unloaded my backpack and coat, and had a seat while my eyes wandered over the menu handed to me almost immediately. The beer list on the menu must just be just a sampling of their libation list, and nothing jumped out at me. But seeing the draft line before me I spotted a Cheeky Monkey Stout and had to try. Mr. Bartender poured me a generous sample and I really liked it. I ordered a full pour and asked what a popular appetizer here is. "Wings and queso" was my man's reply. Another phenomenal Brewery! We came here after eating a Uburger for some more imbibing fun for us early/mid twenty year olds. We came in and were greeted by a friendly bouncer who quickly ushered us in to an immense and almost cave like place. We ordered the blueberry beer and bae ordered some sort of Pilsner type deal and we sat by the fireplaces for a bit before retiring to a couple of bar stools over looking the pool area. Bae loves pool. I love bae. I played pool. We put our names down and then chilled until we were called. We grabbed our balls and he roasted me for about an hour. The prices are by the hour and are really reasonable. Later, we sat and nursed a flight for a spell. The stout beer here is awesome but the blueberry was definitely my favorite -- it had frozen blueberries in there!!! So delicious and crisp, almost like a cider, but not quite. The flight was also great and the names made for fun conversation. Come on a Saturday and watch the bar fill up with more people who are looking for a great time. We had an issue with the QR code ordering system, but the manager and another server took our order and checked back on us continually, which was appreciated. My husband tried their flight and, aside from one with an issue of mixing beers in the line that was later fixed, he really liked them! Lansdowne #3 and Wild Blueberry were best with the seltzer right in line. We split wings and Mac n cheese and were happy with both. The manager went above and beyond to make sure we had drinks and my husband liked all the beers he tried, which was much appreciated! Came here for a company outing - it's a really fun place! They have a full bar (including drinks that are not brewed by Cheeky Monkey) to get your fix and they had some great apps. Have to be honest about this one, with all the great places in Boston near Fenway this place should not be on your "go to" list! I expected great things and was sadly disappointed. The place itself isn't so bad. Lots of pool tables and such but too crowded to carry on a good game. The atmosphere was very odd given the stumbling drunks and creepy monkey decor. Clean for the most part but hard to focus with patrons stumbling and bouncing off of you while you are trying to eat. And now the food. I ordered a Mushroom Burger (pictures included) and it looked alright. I figured between the cheese, mushrooms, and crispy onions it would be tasty. I was wrong! It actually had little to no flavor at all. All I could taste when I did get flavor was the stale French onions on top (tasted like it came from a can). And a massive hunk of tomato that I Hope was an accident and not a standard practice. No seasoning on the fries at all, just bland fried potato sticks. In all my travels and places I've eaten this is hands down one of the most boring meals I've had. Quick advice, save your cash and try out one of the other great places in the area! read more

Single server handling 50% of the tables is insane and the results show. 10 minutes before took out drink orders, still taking orders on a paper pad, loses order and has to come back and take order again. Food arrives out of order with mains coming before apps. Didn't bring my daughter's drink. Didn't complete the change of fry types. Apps of garlic bread were completely burned, water for table arrived after drinks and after main course. Then the check? We were given the wrong check and the server didn't come back to see if we were paying for 10 minutes and then had to go find the real check...more time wasted. A colossal cluster from beginning to end. The food? Will not be giving this place my money any time in the future. Went here with a group of friends before a concert & to celebrate their birthdays. We had a gift card from another friend of ours to help cover celebratory meals and upon running our cards for the bill, gift card was not going through. We had called ahead to verify this e-gift card would work beforehand and were assured it would. Issue was never resolved and had to pay the bill on our credit card in order not to be late to the show across the street. Mind you I live out of state so it's not like I can just come back and use it toward another bill (nor would I want to at this rate). Have called 3+ times since the night of to get this resolved.. asked to have the gift card applied and adjust our total bill. I was Told this was possible and that it would be handled within a few hours the first time I called. Almost two weeks later no progress been made, was promised calls back on multiple occasions and never receieved them. Totally digging the vibes at Cheeky Monkey! If I lived closer, I would be here all the time! Cheeky Monkey has an interesting/creepy Asian fusion decorations on the wall and cool bar brewery room filled with ping pong tables, pool tables and shuffle board. Some of the edges and flaps are falling off, but it makes for an interesting handicap. They also have electronic darts in the back room which was actually quite fun as well. The electronic darts target was a little off and not accurate while playing, but we still had fun. I can't say much about the drinks because I am not a big drinker, but the food is pretty good. I liked the chicken wings and fries. TIP: If you play to play any of the games, put your name down as soon as you get there because the list gets long! The security guy was super friendly and we got seated immediately- shout out to Samantha the host who helped us out despite losing her voice. Our booth was super cozy and I loved all the decorations- especially the purple unicorn! On our servers recommendation my friend tried the new honey IPA - said it was delicious. The Cheeky Monkey is a big establishment that does not overpack itself allowing for patrons to not have to deal with walking through crowds like a typical dive bar. I appreciated that once I was in. They offer pool, ping pong and shuffle boards. This is a great place to meet up with a group of friends and just have a good time. The drinks are a bit pricey but thats typical in Boston. For Beer Selection, They only serve Beer that they Brew and are very busy. I got to try a couple but the ones i really wanted to try, they ran out off. I came here with a group of friends on a Saturday afternoon (2pm), so it wasn't crowded at all. After a big brunch, we wanted someplace to just sit and have a drink. However, despite the fact that none of the tables were occupied, the hosts told us we couldn't sit at a table unless we ordered food. I understand how this would be a policy if it were crowded, but it seems bit ridiculous to enforce it during all opening hours. Ended up just buying drinks at the bar and playing pool in the back lounge area (which the host didn't bother to mention). The inside is really dark, has cool neon lights (v Instagrammable), and some of the decoration is a bit creepy lol. I had a truly terrible experience at Cheeky Monkey Brewing. My friends and I paid $30 for Uber to go to this place, and when we attempted to enter, a lady who appeared to have no mental stability (she works there) accused us of drinking in the line and fighting at 12:30 AM. They not only accused us of being someone else, and we were in line for maybe 5 minutes with the bouncer the whole time. It's disappointing that a supposedly good bar would have such unstable and unprofessional staff at the door. After two years of being a patron, I'll never return. read more

Went here for the first time the other night after reading about its opening! I must say this place is super cool. The decor is very different and intriguing. They have two large walls that have similar funky statues and pieces inside the display cases, lots of cool light fixtures, and art. It definitely has a hip, modern, and not over the top. When you first walk in there's a bar and seating options for eating, they also have a fireplace with some couches to lounge by, then the place really opens up with a downstairs area that has gaming options of shuffle board, pool, and ping pong. This space is huge! They even have a back bar area with air hockey! As for drinks I tried the landsdown and down unduh brews - both were good but I preferred the landsdown one because it wasn't as heavy. For food we got queso and a flatbread. Both of which were good. The chips that came with the queso were crunchy and not greasy, and to be honest it's hard to fuck up queso! As for the flatbread it was really tasty. It was crunchy and flavorful! I definitely want to try more items from the dinner menu! If you're looking for a new spot to have some fun definitely check this place out! Are you a Whiskey Saigon lover? Then, you're like me, and you'll love the ambiance here. The owners are the same, and they picked a helluva good location to put up shop (used to be Tequila Rain I believe) right next to Fenway Park. Upon entrance, you'll see a good amount of booth seating, and a beautiful bar along the left of the room. Brass beer vats are held over the bar, engraved with their "cheeky" name, adding a nice touch to the décor. Moving past the booth, you'll reach a splendid area for pool and shuffleboard. As the venue just opened, all the tables are new and everything works well. There's a person manning both areas, and you'll have to pay to collect pool balls / shuffle discs to play. Luckily, there are ample tables so unless it's a busy night, there most likely won't be a wait. As for food, it's hit or miss. The Nara fries were abundant and deliciously seasoned in Japanese fashion, organized in a bamboo dim sum steamer. The gumbo mac and cheese was also on par, gooey, soft and flavorful. However, their flatbread and entrees really missed the spot. The flatbread was unevenly cooked, and at certain bites, hard as a rock. The flat iron steak was UNSEASONED - we had to ask for salt. The Singapore Noodles, a complete let-down - the shrimp too salty, the noodles not stir-fried enough, and the flavor minimal. The beef noodle was actually decent, but the portion was small, there was a pitiful amount of soup, and the noodles were obviously the packaged udon that you buy at the store, not the frozen ones (I know, frozen, but it's more legit than packaged and more expensive). To top it off, almost everything was at a price point of $13 per dish, which is really expensive for the quality AND quantity. If you skip the food (or stick to the apps), then you'll probably have a better experience than I did as everything else was fairly solid. The booze on the other hand, sounds promising. And I say sounds, because their flagship beer menu, wasn't ready when we were here. They definitely have a few kinks to work out before being 100% in operation, as the service was also spotty. However, the few beers they did have on tap was decent, and hopefully they'll expand that selection once their full drink menu is up and running. 10 minutes ago Can not say enough good things about this place. Came here for the first time, before a sox game. While they were very busy, it was not chaotic or hectic in the slightest. Then we saw the menu!!! Wow! While it did not have a plethora of choices, what they did have was one of the most diverse and unique menus I've ever seen. And that's saying a lot as I only eat out. The prices were more than reasonable bordering on cheap even. The staff was extremely friendly and attentive. The timing of the food was absolutely perfect. Our server, Jenny, was on the ball! This is a great place to go when visiting Boston. It truly provides a multiple of experiences under one roof. We got to sit by a fire place and have a drink before heading to the dining room for a good dinner. They also offer pool tables, ping pong, and a brewery room with electronic darts. The monkey filled decor is extremely entertaining and intriguing. The menu also offers an eclectic selection of food with a hint of Asian influence. I had the Don Don noodles which were tasty and flavorful. The calamari was very tasty with a curry sauce over the top. Overall the food is a bit pricey for the portion, but not for the new flavors you will encounter. Plus it is Boston so this is to be expected.
