I am not a burger person but was craving a cheeseburger and saw Cheeseburger Factory. Ambiance: This is a walk-up counter at the Makai Food Court at the Ala Moana Shopping Center. There are many seats in the food court, but it can get very busy at times, and looking for a place to sit may take some time. The noise level is rather louder in there as there are many people. Service: There was no line when I walked up to the counter. The service was superb. The employee greeted me promptly. He was very nice and friendly and also encouraged me to get the cheeseburger, which he said was good. Food: I ordered a cheeseburger combo. I really enjoyed the burger. The bun was soft and the burger was similar to a smash burger and fresh. It was perfect to my liking as you could taste all of the condiments and ingredients in the burger. There was enough of everything and not too messy at all. I also liked that it was not too oily and the fries were also crispy and a good size, not too thick and not too thin. The patties were nice and cooked smashburger-style, crispier on the edges, with a super tasty onion/cheese wetness and crunchy/fresh veggies!! This burger joint is located at the Ala Moana Center. Parking's a non-issue since you park at the mall. Parking tip: I usually park on the Neiman Marcus side, enter and exit out Neiman Marcus, take the escalator down to the food court. No restrooms but you're at the mall which has plenty to choose from. You order at the counter, in which the menus are displayed on their mounted TVs. I ended up getting the Bacon Cheeseburger with Avocado. Okay, I don't mind a few onions on my burger, but this burger had way too much onions topped on it! I ended up discarding most of it unfortunately. The beef paddy itself was pretty good, seasoned well, very flavorful, and juicy as a burger should be. The remaining veggie toppings were so-so at best, wished the cheese was something other than american cheese, bacon was crispy. Fries were deep-fried as expected at a high-traffic area. Admittedly, this is just a little food counter in a food court, but what sets it apart to me is that the food is nicely made to order, the food is a good sized serving (which is always a plus for local folks here in Hawaii), and it was done quickly! For those who are cautious, they also prepare the food right in front, so you can see them making your burger, or steak, or fish... their menu is nice and varied. But all in all, I recall coming here frequently when I worked at the mall, and it's a nice spot to get a decent burger. read more

The burgers are made to order and the cooks really put the time into preparing and cooking your burgers. They ran out of bacon when I went unfortunately but their cheeseburger is pretty good. They added grilled onions and it was very tasty. Their fries are okay. Just deep fried and put in a bag. Compliments the burger though. Overall, pretty good burgers. Every time I eat at the Ala Moana Food Court, I try to choose a different food outlet. Today, I decided on the Cheeseburger Factory. The menu was very clear on the choices they offer. I decided on a simple cheeseburger combo that comes with fries and a drink. It's the food court, so I had to look for an open seat. I found one at the counter table. The cheeseburger with grilled onions, a slice of tomato and lettuce tasted okay. The bag of fries was filled to the top. The fries were okay. The Cheeseburger Factory at Ala Moana Food Court is another entity owned by Liliha Bakery. They also own Mama's Spaghetti, Lahaina Chicken, the Poi Bowl... just to name a few! Today I was in the mood for a good burger, and decided to try this place for the first time. Healani was our cashier and she was amazing! She was very patient and explained how everything worked, what was on the burger, how the salad bar and soup worked! I hope management realizes how much of an asset she is! She even went so far as to check with us during our meal to see if everything was OK. We gave her the thumbs up, and that made her smile. Everything was fresh - the burger was well, seasoned, hot and made to order! The fries were fresh, the chicken noodle soup was spot on, and the salad bar was fresh, well-maintained, and all filled up! Someone next to us had the steak plate which is right next to Cheeseburger Factory, and also part of the Liliha Bakery franchise. Her plate looked amazing and I may have to get that the next time I'm at the food court. Seating is at a premium as it was prime time lunchtime when we went but we found a counter space before our number was called! Parking would obviously be at the mall or if you are catching the bus. The bread they used is from Liliha Bakery, and old. When you order the shrimp burger, rest assured that the shrimps are 4 pieces (not 5. if you bring up the picture on the menu, there's clearly 5 but they want to say it's just a piece of pickle or a piece of onions.) Service: usually okay. I used to come here before watching an employee wipe her nose with the gloves she's supposed to wear to doing the burgers. When you ask for them to cut, they throw a knife in the brown bag and don't say anything, they would aggressively throw the brown bag and say, "here you go, thanks, bye" like??? what's there to rush about? there's no line under Cheeseburger Factory because it's connected to the Steak and Fish Company. Employee named He'alani, I hope you wash your hands thoroughly. I've watched you touch your face more than the other employees that work with you and have not seen you wipe it with hand sanitizer or wash with soap. To the cook: Do you really love your job?? We asked to see how a house steak looks like and you give us an attitude. Is this how you treat a customer that pays half of your check? HA! If you hate your job, get another job. Decisions Decisions! Alot of places at The Makai Food court (Alamoana) ranging from mexican..hawaiian..chinese.. Italian..etc..... and then theres "The Cheese burger Factory" (Located closer to the Daimond head entrance to the food court) situated in a corner stall with three (soup & salad and Steak & Fish) different restaurants in one....(pic) The prices are fair for it being in a foodcourt..(pic menu)... I ordered a hamburger meal which consisted of a very tasty homemade looking beef patty with very fresh tomato..onions and lettuce... I passed on the sauces and mayo and it was still tasty and came with a very premium bun from Liliha bakery...(I observed closely and saw that it came right out of a Liliha bakery bag) and meal came with really good fries and a drink. ohh! and I also observed their kitchen counter area being very clean and clear from rubbish on the floor or anything . The staff was very attentive and appeared happy to be there..They all wore gloves and I noticed alot of wiping and disinfecting of counters while they awaited orders to be ready for pick up....(not a long wait at all). The food court seat areas was monitored by a few workers and they even directed you to open seats...we were lucky and entered not having to put our name on a waiting list..Because of the covid there was limited seating and a time limit of 1/2 hour. The same foodcourt workers dilligently wiped down every table and chair once the occupants departed. If you don't want a burger from a major chain and something with a bit more attention and care, this would be a good alternative when in the mall's food court. They got good, classic burger with standard toppings that is made to order and not precooked or made. Not a beef kind of burger person, no worries. They got mahi mahi, shrimp, as well as chicken breast. However, surprisingly they don't offer a veggie burger. This is a meat lovers place for sure. You can also jazz up your burgers with bacon and/or avocado. Feeling guilty about ordering a burger, well there is salad options as well and with healthy choices and not just iceberg lettuce with a few carrot shavings on top. Need something more, well they also got soup and freshly made to order fries as well. I love a great Cheeseburger..... Cheeseburger Factory serves homemade Cheeseburgers which is hard to find. I don't necessarily enjoy eating previously frozen cheeseburgers. So when I can buy a "real" cheeseburger I am happy. Cheeseburger Factory looks like a touristy kind of place, but it's not. The food is very tasty and freshly made. You can watch them grill your cheeseburger while you wait and it comes with fresh lettuce, tomato's and pickles. Completely cliche, but for food court food, surprisingly tasty burgers are made here. My first visit to Cheeseburger Factory was actually over 10 years ago when they first opened. I never returned because I was not impressed. So what got me to try this place again was seeing someone walking around the food court with a tray of their burgers. And it looked good. So I tried. And I liked. This place shares the same grill with Steak & Fish Co. so if they are busy expect a wait for your food. Burgers are made to order so it's nice and fresh. The burgers I tried so far all come with lettuce, tomatoes, pickles, onions & special sauce on nice soft bun. Thank goodness they stopped using iceberg lettuce and use green leaf lettuce instead; decent bun to meat ratio. The hamburger patty might be too thin for some but it was enough for me & had good flavor. The special sauce is a mayo, ketchup & mustard dressing. On all burgers they are generous with the sauce so it gets messy. The mahimahi burger is delicious and came with an interesting sauce akin to a creamy BBQ/cocktail sauce concoction. I'd order it again if I'm craving fish. Think I'm going to try the shrimp burger next. The fries are okay. I could pass on it if I'm not too hungry but I'd definitely order it if I'm rip roaring hungry & make it a combo. Expect your order to take as long as a regular sit down restaurant. That's the first bit. It's followed with, the food is okay. Actually pretty good... However! They put "special" sauce on everything and you have to watch them like a hawk while they make your order. If you say plain and dry, you'll get loaded with veggies and special sauce. In my desperation for a cheeseburger close to my house, I have turned to this and other cheeseburger establishments. Worst customer service ever. They have a new card reader I suppose and my card was having trouble working (works everywhere else ) and they fumbled with it for a bit. They never once smiled or made eye contact. So much apathy from the cashier. She didn't give a crap about anything. Manager was the same (Jin Soo) . I guess it didn't work and the manager didn't come out to apologize. The cashier just straight up said "no" and didn't give me a second glance as she yelled "next" to take another order. I'm honestly livid right now. I'm on my break, time is so valuable, and I'm starving from a crazy shift. So rude and inconsiderate. It feels like this place is trying REALLY hard to be the Waikiki answer to the mainland's In N Out. Or maybe 5 Guys. It's not. The relish or sauce or whatever is overly pickly (is that a word? if not, I feel like it should be)... The burgers are small and for what you get it's not that great a price. I guess if you consider the fact that it's mall food in downtown Honolulu, it's not a HORRIBLE price, but $9+ for a small-ish burger, tiny fries that weren't fully cooked and a small soda, I was not impressed. I get more food for a kids meal elsewhere. The wait was a long one with just one person in front of me at 2pm on a weekday so that wasn't great either. And since they run two food store fronts in the same food court with the same employees there seemed to be some confusion in the back on what orders were for which customers with what sides and options and whatever. Flavors were just not there. Fries were hot but mealy, like not cooked through. Burger was blah. More toppings and pickles than meat. Probably won't bother going back. read more

Went here for the first time with my sisters yesterday and I gotta say I'm pretty impressed. Ordered a bacon cheeseburger and a regular cheeseburger and they were soooo juicy and fresh. Based on the fact that I'm the dutchess after only 2 check-ins, I'd venture to say that the reason people fail to return is because of their poor customer service. The food is great, but I find myself always waiting at the cash register while I see the ladies talking and laughing behind the counter. One woman even said hello to me yet did not move to provide me with service. Aside from their low capacity for customer service, I think they had to go out and kill the cow before they made my burger! It took them 15 minutes to make my burger when the sign says that they are a "fast" food place and will serve their food in less than 10 minutes. Not bad. Not bad. I've been working across the street from the mall for the last 3 years. I must have been to the food court at least 200 times in those 3 years. It wasn't until yesterday that I ever considered eating here. Their decor is pretty plain and generic looking. Who woulda thought these guys are run by the Yummys guys? I decided I'd get the volcano fries after Gemma's rave reviews. I ended up getting just a regular cheeseburger to go along with it. All in all, it wasn't bad. I'm not sure why Cheeseburger Factory gets such mediocre reviews. This was my first meal in Honolulu because our room wasn't ready and we were dying after a long foodless flight. My friend and I were impressed with how efficiently our order was taken and how quickly our food came out. I chose the shrimp burger combo meal, which came with fries and a drink. The shrimp burger was literally all shrimp and it was an extremely generous portion. The "burger" was extremely flavorful and really tasty. I really did enjoy every single bite and it wasn't because I was hungry. The flavors were bold, something that I wasn't expecting from a food court establishment. The french fries were hot and crispy, exactly how I love them. I thought the meal was really inexpensive considering how big the meal was. I was thoroughly stuffed and ready to spend a lot of my hard earned money at the high end shops at Ala Moana. My friend had the Mahi burger which was a big Mahi steak and also really flavorful and delicious. We were very happy with our first meal in Hawaii and would suggest to any of our seafood loving friends to make a pit stop at CF if shopping at Ala Moana. read more

I should have got a double cheeseburger instead since I like the sense of their being meat on a burger and not just veggies. I don't like the new soda dispenser because you get all kinds of crazy flavors in the soda if others have had flavored sodas. Hubby and I stopped by today around two in the afternoon for a late lunch. We both ordered cheeseburger combos, which in addition to the burger included fries and a drink. The sandwiches were big and juicy and dressed with a thousand island-like sauce that tasted pretty good. The veggies - tomato, onion, lettuce - were fresh and crisp. Hubby thought the veggies overwhelmed the meat patty but I thought the ratio was fine. The fries were on the salty side but otherwise ok. The counter person made our drinks as soon as we ordered them, even before we paid and well ahead of the rest of our food.
