I work downtown and have heard about the delay non-stop when I would talk about burgers, so when I got the chance to try it out, I jumped at the opportunity. The Daley is a fairly small establishment, but they also have seating out in the back. Their menu is fairly simple, and they're known for their smash burgers, so I got the Daley burger with an extra patty (double down+5). We also added fries on top as well. It is completely self-service. You go up to the counter, order, and sit around to wait and grab your food at the counter. There's a little water station for you to serve your own water as well. The wait is a big longer but fairly reasonable, like 10-15min for our order, especially as they were super busy when we came by. My coworker and I grabbed our food and ate elsewhere. The burger was good, solid, I personally felt like there wasn't anything SPECIAL about the burger, but it also was better than a typical burger. I like my burgers on the saltier side as I feel like it brings out the beefiness & umami flavor so I had to add salt myself. I heavily recommend ordering the double patty, as one would NOT be enough for me whatsoever. If you do the math, $10 for a basic, thin patty plain cheeseburger is crazy and $15 for the same but another thin patty isn't any better. The burger itself was ok. I wish it was a bit more smashed and crispier, but that's just my personal preference. The sauce was good. If I were to compare it, it almost tasted like a Big Mac sauce which I like. There was a lot of sauce which was kinda overpowering to the burger itself. Went to try out this recommended smash burger spot. It's a small little spot, not too much seating. It seems like patrons used to be able to sit in the back courtyard that belongs to the business next door, but no longer allow it. So if it's busy, expect to take it to go. It also takes quite a while to get your food because of all the mobile orders. I ended up getting a single because it was an extra $5 for a double (pretty ridiculous, places I usually go to only charge an extra $2-3 for an extra patty). It was well smashed, with nice lacey bits. The bun was pretty dry though. Maybe I wouldn't have noticed as much with a double but the bun was way too much and too dry. They overcompensate by putting too much sauce. Again, probably fine with a double. Overall, solid smash burger, would probably get a double next time if I ever go back but that extra patty is expensive read more

My friend wanted to try the smash burgers here at the Daley for her birthday! It's located on Nuuanu Avenue and we were able to find metered parking down the Avenue. It's $3 for an hour!!
