Friendly service. Grandson wanted to eat at a burger place when I said I'd treat them out for his birthday since we would be off island on his actual day. Pretty cashier set up 3 tables for us. Perfect spot with 4 upright fans facing us. The menu is on their right wall. No ice today for the drinks. The kiddies and their mom had shakes, I had a bottled water and couple sodas for the dads. Four had smash burgers and Sweetie ordered from the kids menu: chicken fingers and fries. I had a teriyaki chicken burger and shared onion rings with hubs. There also was a fries to share on the table. Decorated like a 50s diner with Elvis and Betty Boop. On one mural there was a beach van and Sweetie said it reminded her of Outer Banks. Small glitches like wrong orders brought out for one of the sandwiches and a drink size. I wish they had plastic knives to cut your sandwich in half. Busy business on Saturday at lunch time.
One of our favorite burger spots. We haven't been here in a while and burgers are just what we remember. My Jam: Double Bacon Deluxe Burger with a side of teriyaki sauce. It's a massive half pound burger with bacon, cheese, onions, tomatoes, lettuce, and pickles with the Betty's sauce. Then top it with the teriyaki sauce and umami bomb. The fries are very good too, but took the review a notch down on this occasion. We ordered extra crispy, but it wasn't that crispy. We remembered the large being overloaded in the bag, but now it's not as much. They have parking in the back with I believe up to 1 hour free. Then entrance is right after Betty's. The staff is always friendly and food ready when we call in our orders. Just an fyi, if you are dining in, it's open air and fans only, no ac.
Smash burgers are served here. From the pictures in the reviews we weren't expecting these. IMHO I wish the Smash burgers would go away and we'd get back to the good old fashioned fat burgers. Anyway, this place is a bit off the beaten path in a little back small food court alley. You walk up, place your order, get called to pick it up at the window and bus it yourself. I heard another man ask about a restroom and was told there is none for men, only womwn, and he'd have to walk to Starbucks (wherever that is!). Burger was ok, fries were pretty much steak fries size and were good and the onion rings were just OK. It's in a covered area with ceiling fans sporadically placed so it can get warm while you're eating
I came here again, no notes look at my past reviews. I love it here and it hits EVERYTIME. I would not recommend ordering for pick up/ to go as much tho, due to my previous negative experience.
I didn't get a chance to snap a picture of my food. But I got the teriyaki burger, and would highly suggest it! Everyone working there was happy to see anyone walk in, and very pleasant overall. I loved the small town, ma and pop fell to the place, keeping this on my list to come back
First time eating at Betty's Burger joint. Came with a good friend of mine who says this is his favorite burger joint. I ordered the blue cheese and bacon burger and the patty was cooked too perfection. Loads of blue cheese and top with two strips of crispy bacon. Had it with some onion rings and it was a perfect pairing. Service was a great and the food came out nice and hot just off the grill. This is a small restaurant and probably only seats about 20 people and they do get busy. We came off hours and I would suggest you do the same. I've been wanting to try Betty's Burger Joint for a while, but waited for the right opportunity. Yesterday, my wife said she was craving a burger and asked if I could pick some up at the nearby burger place the next day for lunch. I knew which one she meant, but suggested Betty's instead, since we hadn't tried it before. She agreed. I began describing the options to her, and when I mentioned "spicy," she decided on that one. This morning, I suggested ordering three different kinds and splitting them, which sounded good to her. I've seen the outside numerous times, but had never gone in before. I walked in, looked around, and was greeted by a pleasant, welcoming face behind the counter. I had made a list before arriving, so after confirming that the numbering was the same, I ordered #3, #10, and #11 to go: 3. Betty's Deluxe with Cheese 10. Shroom and Guac 11. Betty's Spicy Burger As I waited for my order, I consciously focused on what I had read in a couple of reviews about the place being hot. I say "consciously" because I usually don't pay much attention to temperature unless it's extreme. I noted that it was a bit warm, though there was also a cool breeze moving through the room. After a few minutes, the gentleman handing out the orders called my name and came directly to me with the bag. I hurried home knowing my wife was waiting for lunch. We cut each sandwich in half, and I pointed out the spicy one to my wife. She tasted it and remarked that it was just a little spicy, but that it tasted good anyway. After finishing that one, she tried the Shroom and Guac but didn't like the taste. By then, she was too full to try the Deluxe with Cheese, so I ended up tasting everything and finishing the rest. For me, the Shroom and Guac was a little too mushy, making it hard to pick out the taste and texture of the mushrooms. The Spicy Burger was okay, but it seemed that the only thing making it spicy was a few slices of jalapenos. I liked the Deluxe with Cheese the best and would order it again when I'm in the mood for a burger from Betty's. Overall a positive experience.
Coming from SoCal, the smashburger capital, I thought Betty's was aight. I thought the retro diner design was unique and fun, and they have a big menu. I just got their simple hamburger and the patty was on the saltier side but tasted good with the soft bun. I also thought it was so adorable how they draw their own designs on the paper bag they give! Makes for a personalized keepsake.

So we took a chance with Betty's and I'm so glad we did! I was a little overwhelmed with their menu, but as soon as I saw "Spicy," I knew exactly what I wanted to order. When we received our food, I was taken back at how crunchy both the onion rings and fries were! And that burger was so simple and so delicious, that I bragged to my husband that I'd rather come here from now on! It's so good! Surprised I did not already review Betty's Burgers. We got take out during Covid and I loved their food. Fast forward to a couple days ago when I had a hamburger at another place and it was so bad (they mixed the meat with something to stretch it) I craved a real hamburger. So yesterday we stopped by. I got a bacon cheeseburger deluxe, small order of fries, and order of onion rings. Just for me. And ate most of the French fries on our drive home they were so good. I didn't order the double cheeseburger since I'm trying to limit my meat and the sandwich was still huge and satisfying. I did not make any changes to the order even though it had sauce and pickles but they all added to the taste. They also grilled the bun which was nice. I usually will only eat half a burger and save the rest for later but I ate the burger, finished the fries and the onion rings. It's not cheap, surprised that it set me back over $20 but it was totally worth it and I can't wait to go back to get more of those French fries. I ordered it to take out and went over and did a little shopping at Nijiya and it was ready when I came back. There is parking behind, just look for a small driveway. They give you one hour free parking.
Saw this place online and decided to walk from our hotel to try it, very close by Waikiki! We got the spicy burger and the chicken teriyaki burger along with a small order of fries. For the reasonable prices it's a good spot. The spicy burger was okay it lacked of flavor and was loaded with pickled jalapeños hence the "spicy" but I'd rather just get a regular double cheeseburger next time. A small burger place in the heart of uh student country in pucks alley (small odd and old stripmall but known as business center) It sits on the outside streetside of the complex. It definetely fits the part of a college kid hangout with outside patio seating on the sidewalk and a hip surfer chilll vibe inside... Be warned ! There is no Ac inside!! heat from the kitchen can definetely be felt...they have a few fans to blow around said hot air but not a cool place to dine in unless outside ambient temp is on the cool side with breeze....Outside patio seating is alot cooler in temp and vibe. Menu is mainly burgers fries and shakes. Portions is decent and price is manageable...I got the bacon cheese burger...I honestly could barely taste the bacon and the burger seemed to be lacking seasoning.... maybe was an off day..in any case worth a visit and maybe a return. Visit as well..
We were in the mood for a smash burger. Haven't been here before but this place got good reviews. Super glad we came! Free parking through the alley behind the building, dog friendly, and courteous staff. It's got a 1960's burger/ surf shack vibe and the food was fantastic. Highly recommend.

My daughter and I ordered the #5. There is a wait but it is well worth it. My cheeseburger was nice and juicy, who ever was the chef on 09/06/2026 was on it! The fries were also thick, well seasoned, and not soggy like it's been sitting for a while. It was our first time ordering and the Ladies that work the counter were very helpful and patient. Located on University Avenue going up towards U.H. Of Hawaii on the right side they have a parking lot. They do not validate parking, but if you are there for less than 1 hour parking is free. It was so hot I don't know if the air conditioner was broken or they don't have air conditioning, because they had fans going in the dining area. I ordered the Betty's Burger it was pretty dry and not juicy, it was not the best burger I ever had. The onion rings were very good it looked like they cut their own onions and batter them, the onion rings came out hot and crispy and the inside was real onion. The French fries were gold and it came out hot and crispy. My wife had the teriyaki burger and said it was okay, but on the messy side. The chicken Caesar salad was good and it had lots of shredded chicken, Restroom are located outside of restaurant used by all tenants. read more
Solid burger spot on University Ave. near UH Manoa. Betty's Burgers is a small burger restaurant with a parking lot to the side and in the back. This is a parking lot for Puck's Alley businesses. While the lot looks small and tight, there is additional parking in the structure through the initial lot tucked in Puck's Alley. It is just a bit steep to drive up to the additional parking. The restaurant itself has some seating outside and inside. It has a retro, diner sort of feeling to it. There are lots of colors, some umbrellas, and metal tables. When walking into the restaurant, the counter is straight ahead. The people working are friendly, and they were efficient with our order. We got Betty's Classic Burger, Bacon Deluxe Burger with Cheese, fries, a peanut butter shake, and a blueberry shake. The burgers were good -- they were tasty and filling. The fries were also a good size and had some flavor to them. They reminded me a bit of Popeyes fries. The peanut butter shake was so good. The blueberry shake was a bit sweet for us and did not seem to have a strong blueberry flavor. However, it was a good and sweet shake. The prices for everything felt pretty fair as well. Great tasting smash burgers at good prices. The burgers are tasty, a bit greasy and quite filling. The patties are seasoned perfectly that I've never had to add any additional seasoning. I've tried half the burgers on the menu and they've all been quite good. The fries portion are on the small side for the price. The service is quick and very friendly. There's a free one hour parking at the Puck's Alley parking lot in the back. When I crave a good burger, this is where I come to. read more

Everyone Ordered the #6 Double bacon Deluxe with cheese Captain Messy Hands, Keeper of the Drip: This burger hits the mark with just the right amount of juice and a solid, balanced flavor throughout. I wish I had more of their BB sauce -- still destination-worthy and respectable, but that extra drizzle would have pushed it closer to legendary.Ruled by Captain Messy Hands -- must drip or be dismissed. ------------------------------------------------ Double stack Daddy: The beef patties were cooked great. (Could have used more flavor) & they forgot my bacon overall it was a good burger & the fries were ONO! ------------------------------------------------ Braddah Big Buns: Double bacon deluxe cheese burger with sriracha mayo. Betty's is an unapologetically no frills burgers, fries, and shakes kind of place (ok, technically they have salads too - but are you really coming here for a salad?). It can get a little hot and loud inside because there is no AC and the windows are open for ventilation, but that's a minor inconvenience for a delicious and reasonably priced burger. The classic burger started at $8, and most items on the menu were around $10-11. We had the double deluxe w/ cheese and the bacon deluxe w/ cheese + avocado and both burgers were delicious. I think the patties were a little thick for "smash burgers", but they were well cooked and the toppings/sauce were very classic for a great burger. Onion rings were also really good - sharing one portion among 2-3 people is enough or things might start to feel too greasy. Another amazing dinner from Betty's! My typical order is a BBQ Burger, Fries with a side of ranch and cholula, and can't forget about the Peanut butter milkshake. It is seriously to die for. Ordered takeout for lunch- Betty's deluxe and a fish burger with a couple orders of French fries. Betty's is a cute retro style diner. Both burgers were huge and were tasty. The fish burger was nicely grilled and the sauce and toppings complemented each other well. The small orders of fries were enormous. We could have easily split one order but I'm not one to complain about extra fries, especially when they are crisp yet fluffy like Betty's! The wait for our order was on the longer side because of how busy it was. I bet the burgers and fries would be even better while dining in. read more

First time here and I am in love with the homey feel!! We moved here from LA and it reminds me of the little diners you find on random adventures with an island twist. We were greeted with a warm smile from the young lady at the counter. She took our order easily despite the music being a bit loud. It definitely fits the target audience, there were many college students from the university inside. I ordered the Double Bacon Deluxe and the Spicy Burger with an extra patty. We've been having a hard time finding a really good burger that we can get a bang for our buck and we definitely found it here! It was giving Five Guys but BETTER! We'll definitely be coming back to try more of the menu. read more

Right next to RB's and Puck's Alley. There's a small paid parking lot on the left side of the restaurant but we found street parking. No AC inside so it can get a little hot if there's a lot of people. Service is fast. I got the Bacon Deluxe with cheese and a side of fries. Solid burger and large in size. Tasted fresh. Patty was a bit bland but there was some BB sauce on it. Definitely needed more sauce so wish I added more. Fries were crispy and thick. A little bit too thick for me but it paired well with the burger. Husband got the Shroom and Guac burger. He thought it was okay. Guac flavor overpowered the burger flavor, so great for those that love guac! Loved the onion rings! They were so crispy all around and coated well. Loved dipping it in ketchup but good by itself as well. Both burgers were cooked medium well. We also got the Oreo Shake. It was okay. Didn't really taste like a milkshake because it wasn't creamy; tasted like iced milk but the Oreo flavor was great! Maybe next time I'll try some of the tropical flavors like the lilikoi or mango! Such reasonable pricing on all of their burgers and they are huge! They have a kids menu too. read more
