A first visit to this Cheesesteak House location, in Rowlett. Went in for a takeout for a Friday night dinner. It was wonderful! I'll start by saying that, it was tidy and clean and the men at the counter greeted us as we walked through the door. Their menu, above the counter, was clear and had a lot of variety and we were also given copies of their menu to take home. They were patient, as we were undecided and considering our choices. We ordered a Peppered Cheesesteak and a Cheesy Cheesesteak, Fries, Onion Rings and Queso. The Cheesesteaks were great, we split each, so was able to have both. My favorite being the Peppered, a personal choice, as I love peppers, but the Cheesy Cheesesteak was as good. The fries and onion rings were also very good, the fries were seasoned well and they are the skin on fries which are always better in my book. The onion rings were good, I think they may have been much better if we had eaten them immediately (that's on us). We tried three of their sauces, Ranch, Mayotle Sauce and Joel's Special Sauce. They were all really good, the Mayotle Sauce was spicy with a smoky flavor and the Joel's Special sauce, which I thought I wouldn't care for, was a surprise because I really did like it. During our visit, we talked to the owner whose attitude towards, and enthusiasm for, his business was genuine. He does seem grateful that you stopped in and wants to see that you are satisfied with your meal, as well as hopeful that he'll see you again and again. I had mentioned to my daughter, while we were making our decision on what we wanted to order, that we would order the side of Queso but needed to be sure that we got it "this time" as on a visit to ANOTHER LOCATION we paid for it but got home and it wasn't in the bag. The owner heard me say this and when we got home there were TWO sides of Queso, which is one more than we ordered. The food here is really good and the guy at the counter was really nice. The only issue I had was that it had too much mayo and I had to wipe a lot of it off. The food was absolutely incredible! I loved everything about the chicken cheese steak that I got. Ask for it cheesy style! The service was really good, he came and brought us all the sauces they offer and explained what they were. He was also friendly! The ambiance was great for a quick bite to eat, I say that because it only took 5-10 minutes from the time we ordered for them to bring it to our table. Came here right after they opened. Friendly service and they have some great custom sauces. They explained to me their in house sauces to add to your cheesesteak and fries. It was a hit with us! Definitely felt like comfort food and sits heavy. They give you a lot of food so if you're hoping for something light but with flavor, salad might be the better option. The Jasmine special was amazing - bed of fries with cheesesteak on top. The best part is that the cheesesteak/meat wasn't covered with just cheese, but it was really well flavored/evenly distributed sauce. Well seasoned fries and onion rings - shockingly stayed crispy even for a to go order. They're also super fast! Only took them about 10 minutes from the time we placed our to go order. I've been here twice now and this place is awesome! Big portion sizes, reasonable prices, and friendly staff that always check if you're order is the way you wanted it. Also, the menu has a lot to choose from, while still being simple. I've had a cheesesteak the first time I visited, and the cheesesteak salad this go-around, and both were very tasty. The guy who runs this place is great, always has a smile, checks on your table, and I believe is also MAKING the food. Needless to say, he's juggling a lot and doing it well.
