About time I post an update because I just can never say enough about Cheever's. Hands-down this is my favorite restaurant in OKC. The chicken-fried steak and queso are both out of this world, and my personal favorite, the seafood tamales, are so so worth the price tag. Don't even get me started on the pecan ball (phenomenal). Ambience is incredible, and as far as service goes, I've never once had a bad experience. I also wish I had a never ending supply of their rolls with the salted butter. Just fantastic. read more

the service at this restaurant is top tier. staff was accommodating and helpful. i had the chicken sandwich, it wasn't my favorite as it only came with coleslaw and a few pickles making it one of the driest sandwiches i've had. i wish they offered some type of aioli to pair it with to give it some added flavor. the men's restroom had one of the best scents i've smelled in life making washing my hands enjoyable. i'd go back to try the seafood tamale. read more

Chopped salad, 8 Okay. Was pretty standard and nothing to write home about, but still glad we got some healthy greens as an appetizer. Mixed food tamale, 16 Okay. Thought most of the ingredients tasted okay, but I didn't like how it tasted overall as a cohesive dish. Service was fine. read more

Short rib: very dry. Had to use a steak knife, and couldn't force myself to finish it. The sides (potatoes au gratin, and brussel sprouts were good though) Red snapper: great taste and the risotto was really good The ice cream ball: the pecans were good. The ice cream was solid. First thing, MAKE SURE YOU HAVE A RESERVATION, as this place is amazing. We had brunch here one Sunday morning on a whim and it was the best breakfast we have had in over a year. The staff are top notch and the food was as well. I simply can't say enough great things about the food. They do have outdoor seating as well as in door. It is a small restaurant, thus the need for reservations, parking is across the street or on the street. But it's worth any and all efforts. read more

Passed through Oklahoma and found this gem of a place! The waitress was so attentive and friendly. The decor is a little fancy but not everyone was dressy. I love this! Quaint spot. First visit. Four of us dined for brunch. We ordered the brisket hash with the BBQ hollandaise on the side-- used it for dipping the brisket. Wonderful flavor, mine was prepared perfectly- my dining partner had too well done sweet potatoes-altered the flavor. An order of chicken enchiladas arrived and were devoured with each of us tasting and enjoying the meal. The rice was a bit lacking in flavor. The third meal we had was the crème brûlée- very flavorful and a sweet tooth satisfied. We also had the house punch-highly recommend; the mocktail with ginger and turmeric was spot on-one of us requested a splash of vodka. Service was great as well. read more

This is a review for their brunch which I believe is only available Saturday and Sunday. I think.... We've been here before many times for dinner. The best chicken fried steak in town. The last time we were here for dinner, we reserved the private room. Another favorite is the Roasted pecan Ice cream ball. But I digress... highly recommend you make reservations. They have garlic, oregano and basil rolls served with butter that has Hawaiian salt sprinkled. We started with the homemade cinnamon roll. It's huge :) super soft and gooey. Could definitely be shared with four people. We also had the Snickerdoodle French Toast. Super thick slices of brioche bread served with brown sugar whipped cream. Don't need syrup. Was super moist. He was watching his calories (after the cinnamon roll and French Toast) so he ordered eggs with a side waffle. This waffle earns THE BEST WAFFLE IN TOWN AWARD from us. It is made with some cornmeal. So you're like is it cornbread or a waffle? The answer is both! Super thick, crispy edges, very flavorful. I had the Cowgirl Benedict- Brunch potatoes, chicken fried steak, fried egg, red chile hollandaise, avocado. Service is always friendly and helpful. Very nice place for a date. Our server suggested getting both the hollandaise and gravy on the side, and it was THE best suggestion. Alone or mixed together, they are a great addition to the chicken fried steak. We used to love eating at Cheevers. Since around 2020-ish (near Covid), every time we've been it's just been so so.

I've been wanting to try Cheever's cafe since I moved to OKC, and now I'm about to move away, I had to check it off of my bucket list. I have to say it delivered on many levels! I met up with a few friends on a Wednesday night. Reservation recommended. We grabbed a patio seat as our friend brought her beautiful Great Pyrenees. Immediately, our awesome waiter (whose name I didn't catch and I'm so so sorry!) brought out a water bowl for Dully the Great Pyrenees. He also gave us a quick run down of the menu since it was my first time trying Cheever's. I just love it when the waiter is knowledgeable and enthusiastic about the food from their restaurant, it fuels my excitement about trying the place too! We started with the bleu cheese potato chips. While I'm not super into bleu cheese, the massive tower of chips was not overwhelmingly funky from the cheese. I loved the scallion pesto atop the chips. It added a vibrant green hue to the dish too, 5/5! They had a decent wine and cocktail selection. My friends enjoyed their cocktails. For dinner all three of us went for the dinner special - New York strip with flash fried brussels and mashed potato. Say no more when you tell me there's flash fried veggie (spinach or brussels sprouts, I'm down!). While we were waiting for the entree, our wonderful waiter brought out the house rolls with salted butter, which we enjoyed very much! The dinner entree was delicious, as expected. I've been eying their seafood tamale for ages and I wish I had a second stomach so I could have tried that as well. Maybe I can squeeze in another visit to Cheever's before I leave town... if not, I'll take it at everyone else's praises and let it be one of those forever dreamt-about dishes and a reason to return to OKC someday. For dessert, we shared the 7 layer carrot cake. I'm a huge fan of carrot cake with all the fruity veggie goodness and the crunch of walnuts, smothered in a tangy cream cheese frosting - this carrot cake checked all those boxes for me. It's my early birthday and I couldn't have asked for a better slice of cake. I wish I could've caught our waiter's name because he was simply awesome. Super classy dinner spot in Uptown serving up incredible high end dishes, but you can go casual and fit right in. The service is as fantastic as the food, Patrick made some excellent recommendations and was on top of everything. Check the current menu on their website, some of the dishes in reviews on Yelp are not on the current menu. The chicken tortilla soup is some of the best I've ever had. Very well balanced flavor - you can taste the large chunks or chicken and they aren't overwhelmed by the broth and other seasonings. I chose the braised boneless short rib entree. The chef is a flavorologist !!! The combination of the blackened jalapeño au gratin potatoes which were rich and creamy, with a spice that creeps up on you, paired with the sweet garlic sautéed Brussels, and the savory fork tender short rib....speechless. It was incredible. Can't wait to return. Well done!!! read more

The ambiance at Cheever's is top notch. We enjoyed sitting at an intimate table for two in the bar area. Joey was a fantastic server. He made several recommendations and we enjoyed them. The Spicy Shrimp Risotto was delicious but the Crispy Brussel Sprouts were some of the best we've had. We'd definitely come back just for them! The cocktails were perfect as well. read more

We love this place. We met on our way to Arizona and my sister drove from Dallas. It was a great meeting spot! Get people working there. They're so nice and welcoming. We had the place to ourselves because of being between lunch and dinner. It was a lovely time to eat great food and catch up. We had delicious mock tails along with an appetizer. I have traveled quite a bit and I cannot think of a better meal in my lifetime. The bread was amazing and the perfect size. Not too much. My wife and I each had an old fashioned and it was close to perfect. We had the seafood tamales and I had the special which was Mahi and it was great. Finished with coconut cream pie and it was amazing. Service was great. Only negative was parking but overall 10/10. read more

Dear Cheevers, another day goes by and I go to bed dreaming about your molasses roast chicken. It is so ridiculously good. I want to live at Cheevers and eat the menu every day. I wish I could swim in your cheddar grits. The bread is the pillows that I sleep on every night. Every time my mom comes to town, I know I'm eating good that night, because I'm going to Cheevers. We hadn't eaten here in probably 10 years. Still the high quality food and service we remembered. I had to have their famous chicken fried steak. Wow! It is plenty to split w a friend. Cocktails were spot on and the bartenders were fun to talk to. Always fun to sit and watch at the bar. So glad they are putting one of these in Tulsa soon. read more

Cheever's Cafe WAS our favorite spot for amazing food in Okc. The cinnamon rolls were our favorite and the food was always fresh and delicious. It's our 10 year anniversary and we couldn't wait for brunch. After being seated we were told they don't have cinnamon rolls anymore. That should have been our sign. Crème brûlée french toast was ok. Fried eggs sunny side up were cold, potatoes were cold. The coffee was hot at least, service was blah. $50 breakfast and would have been better elsewhere. Just disappointed since this was our favorite place. Hopefully they were just having an off day, but we will not return. read more

Cheever's is an OKC staple with a really cool backstory. It was started as a flower shop by the first baby born in OKC after it was officially a city, but enough about that...on to the food! We opted for Sunday Brunch on Father's Day and were not disappointed at all. We are a party of 6 so reservations are generally a must. We were seated promptly and started off with craft cocktails and the most amazing rolls with herb butter. That was followed by queso with lots of tasty add-Ins and then the feast arrived. Giving this 5 stars because our waiter (Trey) was amazing. Fun personality, explained menu well, answered any questions, and never left our cups empty! I only got pictures of the queso unfortunately but we ordered a lot of food and tried multiple desserts. Queso was just okay- not great in my opinion. The ribeye was great! But I did not like the enchiladas on top of it. Was a weird combination to pair together but my brother in law loved it. The chicken fried steak was amazing! First time here for brunch, the food and drink was delicious. The portion size were massive. The food here will put you into a nap. Tasty balanced seasoning, the french toast had a good amount of sweetness that I didn't have to down water after every bites. i had the seasonal brunch punch and it was juice, very well made.
