If you go in expecting just meh food with a glass of beer, your expectations will be met. Nothing was necessarily bad, but it also wasn't great. Well maybe except the kids corn dogs. They seemed to love them, but it's not hard to mess up a plate of batter fried food. The chicken lollipops maybe could've been really good, but I'm not a honey BBQ fan. Even just a plain buffalo option or something more unique like a sweet gochujang. Really wish there were just any other flavor options than BBQ. But I did like the pairing with the pickled onions and pickle slices. The ribeye sandwich was the biggest let down though. The meat was thin and dry. I was expecting a grilled ribeye, just sliced for a sandwich. But it was more like Philly cheesesteak type of meat. The mayo was heavy handed. It needed something to brighten up the flavors a little, like maybe more horseradish and a drizzle of balsamic reduction? It was good in concept, lacking in execution. Service was fine. My husband and I had a great date night here. We just did drinks and apps. I had the BEAUREGARD drink and it was super yummy. I would definitely recommend and get again. As someone newer to OKC, I hadn't spent a lot of time in the Classen Curve area so I was very excited to get to try out Republic Gastropub. It has your very typical American bar feel with lots of flat screen TVs to stream whatever sporting events are going on a given night. I ordered the rotisserie chicken club sandwich, which I thought was good, just a little dry. I think adding the mayo/aioli into the sandwich would have helped with that a little more. I have been here on numerous occasions and never have been given the happy hour menu. Even this time, we did not receive so I ordered a martini. After we had ordered all our food and drinks, I saw 2 other tables receive the happy hour menu. It was too late to try much from the menu, but I did order the raspberry gimlet. Both drinks were good. I LOVE republic!! However, the last couple times I have come in, service and food have been questionable. I came in tonight and ordered my usual order and it came out incomplete in many regards. I asked the manager dropping off our food to the table if that was the correct order and he quickly dismissed me, only noting my allergy (which I do appriciate). Coming from being a restaurant manager, this was a weird response to dismiss me so quickly without further inquiry. I was left with out my complete order and my side. When the server finally came back around to check on us, we were ready to leave, however, I was not about to pay for multiple things I did not receive. Thankfully, the manager took my salad off, however, my addition to my entree and my side were never rang in, per my bill statement. I was offered a dessert to go to "make thing right," but I dont eat sugar and if my bill was right I would have paid it no problems. I still tipped for the "service" I received, but I highly doubt i will be back anytime soon as that left a bad taste in my mouth, so to speak. Edit: Not that this was their fault, but they were out of a number of beers from their selections. The manager did try to make things right, but at that point they were closing and we weren't willing to stay past close. Again, if this were my first experience with issues like this, I wouldn't be writing about it. read more

We had a great time at Republic. I've been a few times but this trip was a comfortable Sunday brunch vibe. The waiter was attentive but gave us privacy to visit. The food was good. We each chose a different salad. I was pleasantly surprised at the flavor the mix of components. I will say that my only disappointment was the portion size. For a $25 salad, I would expect it to be a large bowl or plate and filled with ingredients. The steak was good and cooked just right. The blue cheese dressing was a bit bland but the additional herb vinaigrette I requested gave it a little zip. The other two salads were larger and the Thai salad had considerably more beef. The salmon salad was the least expensive and the largest. It would have been nice to have a croissant or roll with the salad like many others do. My club special was tasty and the wine selection was good. The atmosphere is bright, clean, and comfortable. Lots of TVs if that's what you're looking for too. read more

The food is amazing, anything you order you can't go wrong. The service was 6/10. The server brought out 2 salmon salads and we only ordered one. They forgot our bean tostadas, so we had to wait for that. Lastly, we had to ask a few times to get a refill on our water. The ambiance is one of the best in OKC when it comes to ANY sports games going on. I was watching NCAA hoops on one screen, NCAA softball on another and golf. It's shocking how this business has so many 5 star reviews after our experience. The wait staff was courteous and timely. The food on the other hand was a complete disappointment. We ordered the bacon and onion hot dip and it was mediocre...salty and full of flavor, like a warm French onion dip topped with hard-chewy bacon bits and melted cheese. We ordered the fork and knife BLT and the Meatloaf w/Mac. The meatloaf is especially dark and plopped in some kind of barbecue/fruit sauce mixture. I couldn't eat more than half. I dont know if the meatloaf had a good flavor or not because the sauce was too much. From what I could tell, the meatloaf had a sour flavor and maybe that's what the sauce was trying to offset. My gut told me to not finish it. I'm glad I didn't. The BLT fork and knife is an open sandwich with no top slice requiring you to use a fork and knife. It's basically avocado toast with bacon and fried tomatoes. It lacked flavor and overall was an epic disappointment for us. We also did not finish it. We should've known because when we arrived the restaurant was half empty on a Friday night at 7:15. I was surprised we were able to get in so easily. Now I know why...the setting looks like it's the place to be but the food says "Get OUT!" read more

The boyfriend and I checked out this menu a while back so we've been wanting to come here and try the chickpea burger along with some other plant-based options. We went on a Friday night and a very busy time but we got sat and record fashion without a reservation! If you've been here, you know it's a gorgeous restaurant. The staff are nice and friendly and it's a great casual Friday night dining experience. I just don't really like the food. It's ok. I had the chicken on greens salad and the boyfriend had the chickpea burger with roasted cauliflower. The salad was teeny. I think I get more greens on the McDonald's side salad!!! OK, I haven't eaten McDonald's in about 10 years so I don't know if that's true but the point is for $11, you get VERY little greens!!! The chicken was ok but the spiced walnuts or pecans were the highlight of the salad. The boyfriend had a chickpea burger with roasted cauliflower. The cauliflower was half warm and half cold so it had been microwaved. That was a huge disappointment in my book :-(. The chickpea burger was OK. The actual burger part had a good taste to it but I think pairing it with their big huge pretzel bun was a mistake. It came apart way too easily. Food is tasty as always. We enjoyed an appetizer, two main dishes and two beers. Our waiter was really great and checked up on us throughout our meal. Only thing about coming here is that they don't always seat you with silverware so make sure to keep an eye out for that. Overall we love coming here. Even for a game night, it wasn't too crowded. This is a correction of the review I recently posted concerning Republic Gastropub. The previous issue concerned an incorrect reading and entering of the tip amount, inflating our total bill on our credit card. The day after our meal at Republic our credit card emailed my husband about the unusually large tip amount. We called the restaurant and left a message with the person who answered the phone to have a manager call us. We did not ever receive a call from a manager and decided to let it go with the busy-ness of the holidays. After I wrote my Yelp review, a manager immediately contacted me saying none of the managers received that note to call us and that they would like to make this right. My husband had responded to the email from our credit card giving them the correct amount. However, the credit card app did not show the corrected amount until approximately 3 weeks later after the holidays or in early January. I erred by not rechecking that transaction before I wrote my review. The transaction amount has been corrected. We appreciate the management of Republic Gastropub being immediately responsive once they were made aware of the situation and then offering to make it right with a gift card to the restaurant. So all is rectified, and we declined the gift card. We now have a completely different opinion, and we highly recommend Republic Gastropub. Not only was our service exceptional and their food superb, but now we also know their management strives to maintain excellent customer relations. read more

One of my favorite patios in OKC and completely underrated! Absolutely loved my Friday evening here with coworkers next to the fire place and with a great selection of live sports playing on the TVs around us. The drinks are average priced and the "mix it yourself" style Moscow mule was the perfect level of ginger spice and fizz. I ordered the spicy chicken sandwich with the hot sauce on the side: the slaw compliments the brioche bun and crunchy chicken PERFECTLY. I always get the spicy Mac and cheese as a side and it never disappoints. The serving size of the Mac has gone down a bit since last year but still totally worth the price of a side as it's full of sausage and topped with breadcrumbs with a slight heat to it. One of the new ways to pay, I assume because of COVID, was the ability to pay completely on my phone which I loved. Fast, easy, and great masked service.
