It was fine. Probably less expensive than some other Cheesesteak places. The good: not too far from our house, the lady behind the counter was friendly, it was reasonably priced. The servings were not huge, but they were enough. The cheese sauce for the fries ($2.99) was a bit spendy, but it was good. I didn't like: 1)They expected customers to pay extra for their mayo/horseradish sauce. While .35 isn't much, and the lady working at the register gave me a tablespoon or so for free as I didn't ask about it until I'd already paid, it should come with the sandwich upon request. 2) the cook was sitting out front smoking when we arrived. I'm really hoping he washed his hands before cooking & starting to slice the mushrooms and that I just didn't see him. 3) there was a table cluttered with papers and a package of cigarettes at the front of the shop. First off, this place has great reviews so we decided to try it, as our go to is Jersey Mike's. We placed our order of 2 regular cheezteak supremes and a double order of fried green beans. Our total came to just short of $30. The sandwiches were TINY, soggy and flavorless. One of the cheezteaks didn't even have cheese on it! The "double order" of fried green beans was a single AT BEST and needs some kind of dipping sauce. The staff was rude when we thought we had the wrong order because of the size of the TINY bag. Cheesesteak perfection! I cannot brag enough on the sandwiches here. I looked up Cheesesteak on Yelp and saw this place had only 3 reviews. They were all positive so I brought my 14 year old son to check it out. He definately knows a good cheesesteak. Walking up to the door, we see the front door propped open and two owners sitting at tables just inside the door. They had a lot of stuff piled in a couple booths. While it was a little awkward at first, we started talking to them and they were extremely kind. We ordered after they talked us through the menu. I ordered the spicy and my son got the teriyaki. I also got green bean fries. This is absolutely by far the most amazing cheesesteak we have ever had. I asked the owners about their business and they let me know they're struggling to stay open. No one drives out to AA between Grain Valley and Blue Springs. Their place is hidden. They don't do online promotions so the word has never spread. I've never felt inclined to help a random business get promotion, but this food is so amazing I hope ALL my Yelp friends try this place! Please check in and review it. Coming from a small business hole in the wall establishment on a strip mall parking lot the service was polite and respectful but the beef on the hotdog buns was just plain and simple like jersey Mike or something. The fries were cold but the onion rings are edible. Don't be fooled by the totally unassuming storefront in a small strip mall. The teriyaki chicken presented with a good flavor as did the Cheesesteak Supreme. The French Fries were deliciously seasoned as were the green bean fries. Cheesesteaks in Grain Valley Missouri?! I know, because that's exactly what I thought when I came across this classic stereotypical "hole in the wall" joint. Their isn't much to look at inside its straight to the point on the menu as well. You have a few different choices in style of Cheesesteaks as well. Our party of four chose a different one and each werw amazing! I opted out from the norm of provolone cheese andnasked to use the melted Monterey cheese on mine. It was a great choice at that! This place is definitely a hidden gem and from the already limited choices of food out here this place is going to be number one on your list for lunch or dinner.
