I love ordering the veggie banh mi, here. It's basically a veggie sub on French bread called the Phnom Penh Sandwich. The bread is fresh and comes with pickled carrots, cucumber, cilantro ands a protein. You can get shrimp, pork, spicy tofu, curry chicken or teriyaki chicken. I get this banh mi sub at both the Lebanon to-go shop and this White River Junction locations. I am not sure what the differences are between Cambodian and Vietnamese fare. In Phnom Penh, Cambodia, it seemed the foods I ate were more pure and clean than the Americanized Vietnamese dishes I grew up with. The Phnom Penh restaurant and to-go shops serve food which tastes similar to Vietnamese to me. I really like the dishes I've tasted so far, including the fried rice. I did not yet try the pho, here, but it looks great. The sandwich shop is better to sit down in and relax in and enjoy your food. Also, their Khmer iced coffee is yum. read more

There's not much at the Lebanon location aside from a small takeaway shop. The food missed the mark. I ordered a pad Thai, which was mistake. Chicken version came in two choices. Teriyaki and curry and the noodles were too thin for traditional pad Thai. The bahn mi was better. The bread was crispy flaky with the whole sandwich lacked something. We came back to this place after an amazing memory of their food back in 2021. This place is NOT the same anymore and we will not be returning. It seems like COVID must have caused this business to decrease the quality of the food, change the menu, decrease the offerings and more. The quality of the meats and bahn mis are yuck. While staying in White River Junction on a ski trip I had an urge for some good Asian fare and Phnom Penh came up on the Yelp search, unfortunately the Phnom Penh across from the hotel closed at 3pm, but the Lebanon, NH location was open later. After a relatively short drive I found Phnom Penh. I had to wait for a parking space since they were busy. Once inside I was disappointed that the NH location is takeout only, there is no dining area. The menu is concise, offering 5 basic preparations with 6 protein choices; I choose the Pad Thai with the jumbo shrimp. The meal came up within about 5 minutes so I drove back to my hotel. Opening up the takeout container I found a nice portion of rice noodles stir-fried with green onions, bean sprouts and peanuts topped with 6 large shrimp and a cup of the sweet sauce. The shrimp were the highlight of the dish, meaty and moist, with plenty of flavor. While the dish was filling and well prepared I did find that the overall flavor was a bit lacking; the sauce added a bit of sweetness, but I did not get the sour and pungent flavors I am used to from Pad Thai. Overall not bad, but I was looking for bigger flavors. Phnom Penh provides good food, but I found the flavors a bit muted, not bad but just a bit disappointing. My experience would have been better if I had known this location was takeout only. read more

We are new to the area and decided to stop in for some lunch, we are glad we did. This is a small restaurant with very limited seating and limited parking in the area, but the food is very good! We ordered the Sarin Special, Pho, Spicy Curry w Jasmin rice (GF), Kuy Teav Cha, and the Ginger Garlic Pork Sticks. Everything was very good! This is authentic Cambodian cooking! My son loved his Pha, my curry was delicious (spicy, but just enough to wake up your mouth while eating, not so much to cause you to pause or sweat), and my husband kept raving about the egg on his dish, saying he would have liked 2 or 3 of them. We enjoyed a very good meal! My only comment is that there was only one man taking orders and serving, so be patient; he really could have used someone to help out. I'll be honest here, and it hurts me to say all this. I LOVE this place and their Phnom Penh sandwiches. I could eat them every day. Service is quick. However, and a big however, is that the drastic inflation at this place is out pricing me. Do you want to know much it is now for two 400-500 calorie Phnom Penh sandwiches? $30. No drink even. Not something you find in this area of NH & VT! And additionally a very good vegetarian one at that!! Bonus, wasn't loaded with sodium because it didn't affect me the next day! (Low Sodium) Service was fairly quick with many picking up pre orders! Nice little front are however this day was hot out and I had to cool off after doing some shopping. Honestly, I was hoping this would have good banh mi but I was disappointed. The crust was too crispy and I could tell it wasn't freshly baked. The mayo wasn't great quality either and had no pickled carrots (just regular), no cucumbers or cilantro. The only redeeming quality of the beef was tender. Worst part about the sandwich was the price. You better have one great banh mi if you are charging over 12$ after tax for a sandwich otherwise it should be less than 10$. I will not be going back and I suggest you save your money for Pims thai down the street. read more

Decent food quantity, taste, and price. The banh mi bread surprised me the most. It was soft, crispy, flaky, and doesn't cut your mouth (worst part of some banh mis). Never had a baguette like that before. Tip: If you're a true spicy foods fanatic, get extra heat on the side through chilis. Pho is really outstanding. Nothing in this area comes close, and it's better than pho I've had at Vietnamese places in Boston and San Francisco. It's one size, not a huge portion but damn it's good. The curry dishes are all delicious. Haven't had the banh mi, but the house sandwich is very tasty. Chicken satay is tender and pounded really thin. The spring rolls are crunchy and made fresh to order. To the reviewer who said the pad thai was not authentic: it's tasty and looks like what Pai made in her Hot Thai Kitchen video. It's not a gloopy brick of orange noodles, which is what Americanized pad thai seems to have become. Having said that, if you really want Thai food there are some good Thai restaurants just over the river in the Hanover/West Lebanon area. I was in Lebanon and stumbled on this restaurant at lunch time. I love Cambodian food and this place is the real deal. It is mostly a take out - as there at no tables just a stand up counter in the back to sand and eat. I had some pho and lemongrass beef skewers which was excellent but the pho it was hard to eat with small plastic spoon. There are also no toilet or wash sink for customers which was odd. Hand sanitizer is available however. The skewers and pho soup was $10= great deal! read more

Banh Mi wasn't quite what I was expecting to find when I touched down in Lebanon, NH for the first time an hour ago. Despite not being particularly hungry but waiting on a friend, I decided to do the mile walk down to satiate my curiosity. Y'all, this place is better than just about every Vietnamese sandwich shop in Boston. The lemongrass beef is tender and well-seasoned, the pate I asked for as an extra is divine, and the homemade butter is no joke delicious. What truly surprises me however is the fresh baked and toasted bread. In many of the establishments the bread is very cheap and I swear all come from a single supplier. They go stale in matter of minutes and has a strange plasticy texture. This bread is warm and fresh, the toasting makes for a satisfying crunch upon every bite. I'm very shy so my interaction with staff were minimal, but the young woman making the food reminds me of a younger version of myself, also growing up in the restaurant life - you can immediately feel her passion and dedication towards her work. This isn't a review biased by a crazed, hunger-fueled brain. It's legit that good. This is and will be my first and only time in Lebanon, and while it's not particularly memorable for it looks like any other rural town, I think I would always remember this little corner shop. read more

Went to Vermont/NH on a whim and I'm so glad we found Phnom Penh Sandwich Station! There is parking right outside, this is TAKEOUT ONLY but there were some window/standing areas for you to snack at :) I ordered a Phnom Penh Sandwich and I LOVED it! Only wished the bread was crispier like banh mi BUT omg that pork was flavored very well! Everything is cooked and prepared right after your order is received. Our order of Pho and the sandwich may have taken about 10 - 15 mins total :) DON'T forget your utensils, they're self serve at the window across from the pick up counter. We didn't eat there but the sandwich may have been crispier if we had eaten there. 100% would come again!!! Really great spot. I am so glad I was so hungry that as I perused Yelp for lunch spots that I went with this place because of the pic of the shrimp sandwich. It was delectable satisfying food that won't hurt your pocket! This sandwich station began from a food truck that this Cambodian family started in 2014. They found so much success cooking their fav recipes from home in the food truck that they found a permanent home in this little corner store. Inside you will find the ordering counter and ledges around the room where you may stand and eat. You may also eat at the picnic tables outside and of course take it to go. We got the vegetable summer roll as we wanted a non fried roll. It was deliciously packed with noodles, cucumber, and carrots wrapped in rice paper with a light peanut sauce for dipping. My hubby got the pork dumpling too because the apps were only $3 and said his stomach was very happy with them. We shared their famous sandwich I saw a picture of that made me pick this place for lunch. It had Cucumbers, carrots, spinach, a special sauce and added grilled shrimp as our meat. It was so delicious I wanted another. Next time I would try the tofu as the meat. Summer of 2018-Don't be turned away by the construction. I've visited Phnom Penh's food truck when it comes to Hanover but this was my first time visiting restaurant. It's a gem for Asian food in the Upper Valley. The interior is clean and inviting. The service is friendly. The food takes a little while during the dinner rush. There's not many places to sit but there's standing room around the restaurant.
