Brought my mom and 2 year old niece for our first time. My niece wanted Chinese food and I'm so glad we listened to her bc this place was absolutely wonderful. Wow the food is delicious. I never tasted lemon chicken just like orange chicken. I am not a fan of fried food and I thought ordering lemon chicken was something totally different. All I can say was I nearly finished it off. My niece is a tiny thing and she was eating off my plate her grandmas and her own. My mom enjoyed everything that was giving to us. Worst Chinese Food I Have Ever Had In My Life. I honestly debated writing this because the owners were so nice but the food had me sick the whole night as well as my boyfriend. We got the Combination Sweet and Sour Chicken and this supposedly spicy chicken entry, both having fried rice on them. The Sweet and Sour Chicken was tasteless and the sauce was just off. Then the chick entry (#29) was the worst thing I have ever eaten. There was barely any chicken, this thick, wheat packed sauce that made me gag from how salty it was. Then the fried rice was the worst thing we ate. It was dry and it tasted like it was at least a week old. The only things that were okay were the spring rolls. Good food and the service is fast. I've never waited more than 15 minutes for my food. Plus, it comes out super yummy and hot. Not to mention- their hot and sour soup is the best. I really want my local Chinese restaurant to be better! Isn't it great to just be able to roll out the door and find great food or coffee just down the street. Well, I'm just a little disappointed that my local Chinese restaurant (just a mile from my place in the Heights) is below average. Maybe being off the beaten path near the crazy intersection of Houston, Main & I-45 doesn't help business. The family that runs the place is nice. The decor is pretty standard old school Chinese American restaurant. The price was reasonable. My two litmus test standards are dumplings and pork fried rice (I'm pretty simple that way). Whether they were or not, the dumplings seemed like the pre-made frozen variety. The fried rice just heavy, sticky and bland. Not sure I want to try too many other things. I guess it is what it is. Just a convenient place to get Chinese on the east side of the Heights. You can always do better if you commute. read more

Yes, we ordered take out from Chef Hunan Bo this Valentine's Day. When the person who cooks our food comes out to greet me, means so much. I can't think of one time that I have had an unpleasant meal. I recommend the hunan bo chicken, moo go gai pan, and the soups. This place is AWFUL! The food was not at all what you think you're going to get. It made me feel sick after 3 bites. The lo mein taste like old ramen noodles. The rice is dry, old and cold. The waitress took at least 10mins to get two simple glasses of water-and when we did get them she slammed them on the table. She forgot the soy sauce and duck sauce, then when she brought it she said "I forgot" and threw them on the table. I wish I could say I was exaggerating, but I'm not in the slightest.
