    Mango Lassi

We love Indian food so whenever we travel, we love to go to different Indian food locations. We happened to stop by Chef India right when they opened at 11am on a Thursday. The location had plenty of free parking and the interior was clean. Some things we tried are: 1. Mango Lassi- it had a thick smoothie consistency which we like and prefer. It was also sweet and tart at the same time. Honestly one of the better mango lassi out there! 2. Garlic Naan- this was okay. I wish they used real garlic bits instead of powdered garlic. 3. Butter Chicken- came with rice. It was good, but I would give it a 4 out of 5. 4. Lamb & Goat Tikka Masala- came with rice. I got a medium spice with this and I would say this was a 5 out of 5 star here. 5. Complimentary chai tea station- I absolutely LOVE chai tea. This station gets you unlimited refills with sugar. If coming here, I would get all of the items we got again. They were all tasty and the portions were a good size. As always, leave tip when you can!

First note, I really did not know anything about Indian food except that there are some things I really like that always appeal to me whenever I stepped into an Indian restaurant. The Naan and Buttery Chicken are two of the first things that I usually look for. Most Indian buffets that have been to usually come with Naan except for here it's $2.99 a basket but it's totally worth it. You get a choice of about 3 different Naans and it comes out fresh so you will have to be patient. The buffet is only offered Friday Saturday and Sunday during the day time and it closes up about 3. You might not know about this place until you drive by it and actually see a sign that says Buffet, just had my tires screeching to a halt yesterday unfortunately it was too late. And here I am the next day. The buffet price is about $13 plus Uncle Sam and with the Naan and an iced tea it comes up to just a hair over $19 plus tip. The service here is really attentive. The parking is little and limited up front but they say there is parking in the back. Why are you reaching your meal you will be pleasant it by some subtle Indian music. You also often see the owner which I would assume coming back and forth making sure most of the detail in the buffet is taken care of. That is a good thing since nothing will ever run out and up to par. After your meal, help yourself to a cup of Chai that is in a push button thermos on the left side of the buffet this is probably the only Indian buffet in town but at least it is decent and deserves a visit. The interior is clean and uncluttered.

If you are in Lawton and are craving Indian food, Chef India is a good spot to check out. A couple of items that I've had and recommend are the Chicken Naan, Garlic Naan, Lamb Goat Vindaloo, Chicken Coconut Curry, and Mango Lassi. All of these were very delicious. If you aren't sure what you want or it's your first time ever trying Indian Food, the restaurant does offers a lunch Buffet. So please stop by and enjoy a meal at Chef India.

Decent Indian fare, and a respite for the otherwise dull locality that is Lawton; or, to be fair, much of the the Southwest. While the buffet is good, it is lacking any bells and whistles and attention to particular details that make it exceptional; and despite my softspit flr Indian food, I refuse to grade up out of consideration for locality. Good, attentive service in an intimate setting. Would return. Closer to 3.5 than 3.

Buffet is about 17.00 including tax

Pros- The curry tastes fresh They have a big variety of entrees Plenty of seating Private parking All you can eat option for less than 17 bucks No wait time (if you go before any rushes 12 or 6 pm) They also have a full menu They have a side of chili paste if the food isnt spicy enough The staff is friendly Cons- I personally think it isnt worth ordering one item alone its a bit pricey i would highly recommend the buffet option.

Really great and tasty food! When the flavors taste authentic you know the people cooking actually care about the food they prepare.

How much is the lunch buffet? Zaiqa's was over $10, so I'm guessing the same here?

    It's the same price $9.99

We didn't like the chicken tikka masala so much. The naans were really good. I think if they had better signage and people understood what was there then that would be really helpful. They only had one other table besides ours during the time we were there and we were there during dinner hour. The server was very gracious to answer all of our questions as a lot of the foods we were not familiar with. I really enjoy the appetizer. It's fried veggies with a chickpea batter. At the moment, I'm avoiding gluten and some other intolerances I have so it is nice to have something that I could eat on the menu. I had the beef curry with zero spice. It does have a natural spice to it already so if you can't handle any spice you might not want to choose a curry. But it was very flavorful and rich. My favorite, which I did splurge a little bit on gluten was their homemade garlic butter, naan bread. It was absolutely amazing. My friend had the biryani with the Panera that is basically a dairy made large cheese curd kind of like cottage cheese. And then she added vegetables. They were very accommodating to make it the way she wanted and she really enjoyed it. The service was great. We plan to go back.
