Only one reason to stop here and it's Chef John's outstanding execution of fish and chips. This is not made fast but definitely made with care -- the batter was crisp and lightly crunchy while maintaining a fluffy fish inside. Same for the shrimp. Eat it while it's hot and warm. The service was straight to the point, no nonsense but courteous. Yellow is one of my favorite colors so interiors were good. Could do without the worship music but hey! The fish and chips here was fantastic! I am always skeptical when someone says -it's the best. But seriously, it is. The fish was a very large portion and the batter super crispy and not greasy. The fish had the right amount of flakiness to it without being too mushy. The fries had a light batter to them adding to the crunch. This place is legit! We stopped in since my MIL has raved about it over the years, and we are glad that we did! Service is friendly, prices are reasonable and the food is good! I read reviews that reported portions are large, so hubby and I ordered a 3-item combo with fish, calamari and shrimp, and added an extra fish. The order took about 15-20 min and it was worth the wait. I rarely order fish and chips because most places over fry and or seasoning is off. Not this place! Everything was piping hot, well seasoned and breaded just right, and the fish was moist. They ration their sauces, but I don't hate on that. It was plenty for us, and I don't like stuff go to waste. They did tell us to let them know if we needed more sauces, but if you like extra you can order more for a small fee. I wouldn't go here for the ambiance, but the food is solid. The service is fine. You order your food and then that's it. They call your number to get your food on a tray and sit down and you eat it. Everything there is fried when we were there they did not have the onion rings that day that were ham bread for too long pieces of fish and four shrimp and some fries. It was like $25 and then extra would be hush puppies and stuff like that for the two of us after we ordered we each got fish with french fries which were no big deal and shrimp and chicken no drinks just of water. It was expensive. It was like $75 so there's a reputation there it's a sweet family that's been there for quite a while. Recently went to the to the PB Fish Shop before coming here and what a major difference, PB Fish Shop over charged us for three small pieces of cod that consisted of mostly fried batter. Nickel and diming the sauces too so you can't drown the dry, mealy fish sorrows you get in enough tartar sauce without breaking the bank even further. yeah nah bro nah this ain't it the first and last time my mom and i had tried this place was back in 2022, we decided to come here before a concert i remember the restaurant being super empty and the food was really greasy anyway not even like an hour after we had eaten, like right after i finished my food, i was just hit with the most sudden feeling of nausea/food poisoning I was feeling hot so i just went outside to take a breather Lo and behold me gagging in the parking lot and feeling queasy and dizzy I have emetophobia (extreme fear of vomiting) so i was freaking out, i hate throwing up, it makes me cry Luckily I ended up not throwing up, just some diarrhea My mom got me a bottle of 7Up which also helped So uh yeah no this place is not it don't believe the good reviews this place made me have trust issues THAT STILL GO ON when it comes to fried fish mind you i eat seafood a lot, my stomach can handle straight raw fish (sushi) and sashimi sooooo idk i still hold a grudge against this place edit: we still went to the concert that day and it was awesome read more
