These are the best crab cakes I've had in San Diego. They are light, moist, and incredibly flavorful.

We chose to get 3 orders of the crispy fried wings with sauce (9 pieces), because we wanted to try three different sauces. The crispy batter for all of the wings stayed quite crispy, even though the wings were tossed in sauce. My favorite one was the signature sauce (yangnyeom) which was the perfect mixture of sweet, tangy, and savory flavors. It has a slight kick to it from the gochujang. My second favorite was the honey soy, and the third was the cheese flavor. They were all tasty though! We also got the tteokbokki which is chewy rice cakes with fish cakes. It was good, and a pretty decent size for $16. The only dish I wouldn't get again is the corn cheese because it was a bit overcooked. Overall, this is an amazing choice for Korean fried chicken in SD, and I'd definitely return.

While I generally always get the Hot Chic sandwhich which is the best chicken sandwich I've ever had, I opened for the chili oil dumplings which was new on the menu. It did not disappoint and left me wanting to eat more. The environment along with their staff is always pleasant and I'm glad it's one of my top places to visit frequently when I'm having a craving for Korean food. The double fried chicken is always crispy and their Wing Wednesday special in which a particular set of wings are $1.00 each is such a great value. It's honestly one of the best values in terms of what you get for quality and bang for your buck. If you haven't given this spot a try please do so, Cross Street has never disappointed me. It's definitely a hidden gem and I solely recommend it.

This restaurant is great for groups and the service is fast and kind. The pika soju was also a pretty good drink. Tasted like a refreshing lemonade. Forgot it had soju at times.

I had never been but it's in the same plaza as my favorite Korean BBQ spot so I was really excited to check it out. We were greeted right away and sat a roomy table, from the outside you wouldn't think this place was so big but it was really spacious. They had seating for patrons ordering take out which was nice. They have an app you can be members on too. After checking out the menu Cheryl ordered her usual which is the rose ddeok-bokki and honey garlic wings, I opted for the rice bowl after the server came by and gave us her favorite order, I chose Chicken Mayor Rice bowl with the jerk sauce. Okay, I did not know what to expect because this was absolutely delicious, the kewpie mayo is by far the superior mayo and that chicken is perfectly crisp and had great flavor from the jerk sauce and the scrambled eggs, oooomph absolute perfection! I did try Cheryls favorite and equally delicious, the crunch on the wings that tenderness of the ddeok-bokki and the sauce so good. It first started in Linda Vista in 1988,…read moreserving traditional Vietnamese family-style meals before moving to its current home on Convoy in 1992. Today, it's one of the most well-known Vietnamese restaurants in the city, and after this visit, I can definitely see why. One of my favorite things about coming here is the location. Even though it's right in Convoy, parking has never been an issue for me. I usually avoid the area because finding a spot can be a headache, but Phuong Trang has a large parking lot that makes stopping by so much easier. I came in for a quick takeout lunch. One thing to know before you go is they don't accept Apple Pay, so make sure to bring a physical card or cash. The staff was incredibly welcoming. They greeted me when I walked in, gave me plenty of time to look over the menu, and never made me feel rushed. That kind of hospitality really stood out. I ordered the Char-Grilled Beef Vermicelli and the Shrimp, Pork & Jellyfish Salad. The salad comes with shredded green papaya, celery, cucumber, carrots, shrimp, pork, jellyfish strips, fresh mint, crushed peanuts, and shrimp chips. The salad was refreshing with plenty of shrimp and jellyfish throughout. I especially liked the crunch from the green papaya. My only complaint was that the dressing felt a little one dimensional. I wish it had a little more brightness to bring out the fresh herbs and vegetables. It was still enjoyable, though. The Char-Grilled Beef Vermicelli was my favorite of the two. It came with vermicelli noodles, fresh herbs, pickled daikon and carrots, crushed peanuts, plus five grilled beef rolls wrapped around scallions. The beef had a delicious smoky flavor from the grill. The only downside was that the inside of the rolls was a little chewy since it didn't get the same char as the outside. Even so, every bite was packed with flavor, so it wasn't enough to take away from the dish. Between the friendly service, quick turnaround for takeout, and solid food, I can see why Phuong Trang has stayed so popular for all these years. I'd happily come back and keep working my way through their menu.

Main entrees were all about $17 and decent portion. I like Chinese style wonton noodles and beef stir fry noodles better--I feel Vietnamese style can be a bit sweet.
