Lots of food selections to choose fro .my hubby who is not vegetarian got the pastrami sandwich and was amazed at how good it was and kept saying it tastes just like real pastrami. So many food choices sandwiches salads baked goods desserts. I became a loyalty member and I'm so glad I did. Nice place with a ton of different vegan options. Came here since they stay open a little later than the Palm Springs location. I had the taco salad. My son called it a Vegan "barefoot contessa" after listening to her latest book on audible together, lol. I must concur that her store offers everything Vegan, with a sweet shop on the other side. There are glass cases filled with so many different kinds of vegan products that it's hard to get my head around it. Desserts, cheeses, proteins, like a mini specialty shop just for Vegans. This place is amazing! Such quality ingredients and flavorful creations. We came in several times while visiting Palm Springs recently and they never disappointed. Between everyone in our group, I think we tried all the sandwiches, their cafe drinks, cakes, cupcakes and everything was amazing. My son who isn't into veggies much actually ordered the hippie veggie with seitan Milanese and it was packed full of veggies and he ordered it when we came back the second time also. We were blown away by all the healthy options, they even have clean sodas and a nice selection of kombuchas as well as some quality take away items. End your meal with their oat milk soft serve, it does not disappoint. Wish they opened up in the Bay Area because we will really miss their food. Excited to finally this restaruant and it did not disappoint! Upon entering the spacious restaurant, me and my coworkers were warmly greeted by restaurant staff. After reviewing the paper menu while waiting to order, I ordered a caprese tempeh burger with a side of smoked children pasta, while my coworkers orders the modern hippie veggie sandich with a boogie bar as well as a bowl of chili cheese crack fries and the daily soup. Our food arrived quickly, was prefectly cooked and was delicious. I was plesantly surprised to see that in addition to this Chef Tanya's location having a restaurant, there is also a variety of vegan items for sale as well as a spearate areas of the store selling vegan soft serve ice-cream. With so many delicious things available to eat and cool things to buy, I will definitely be bringing my husband to this restaurant again sometime soon. read more

Visiting Palm Springs/desert area for the first time and noticed there weren't too many healthy refreshing food places. Chef Tanya's has light and delicious sandwiches! Very refreshing. My favorite was the banh mi sandwich which had a nice spicy kick with the peppers and my partner enjoyed the chicken sandwich which I thought was pretty light in flavor. I wouldn't say the food packs a flavor punch, though could've just been the choices we got, however it is so light and refreshing which makes it worth it especially being in the desert. read more

My traveling partner and I read the reviews and decide to drive from JTNP for lunch. Afterwards we had a long discussion about whether Tanya's kitchen was the best vegan sandwich shop or best vegan restaurant we had ever visited! As others here have said, just amazing. We shared the Modern Hippie and Classic Caesar. Both wonderful. The Daily Agua Fresca was a watermelon creation that was absolutely delicious. Service was brilliant, attentive and spot on. For some reason this was in my YELP favorites but we walked in to realize it was a vegan restaurant which we had not expected. Being hungry, we went with it and the girl who took our order helped us find the most popular items so we could see what it was all about. In the sandwich category we ordered a Modern Hippie Veggie for $16.25 which was like a salad between two pieces of bread. I'll tell you, your mouth is not big enough to eat this thing! It tastes like fresh California living. The bread is coated with "Crack cheese," some sort of vegan delight, for sure. My boyfriend didn't think it had much flavor. Then under the Tempeh Powerburger category, we ordered the Guadalajara! for $16.95. This had Anaheim chile, caramelized onions, guacamole, melted cheese, lettuce, tomato, and chipotle mayo. Very messy and flavorful with the chiles being the best part (and I hate spicy!) We also through in FRIES! Organic, hand cut, tossed in Chef T's spice mix. $7.50. We ate our food outside and the girl outside was super friendly and stopped by multiple times to make sure we had what we needed. read more

I'm not vegan or vegetarian so I went kicking and screaming ( to myself of course) . I was very surprised that they had a DATE SHAKE! Made from Oat milk (and no one would be the wiser) it had nuts and chopped dates on the top and I had that for dinner! It was perfect! I'll go back for that! Also the atmosphere is energetic and everyone was having fun. Most people go there when they have to be somewhere quickly afterwards, because the food comes out quickly. I have my go-to order (caprese and Sriracha panini) but love the specials and value with the added fresca, which is always delicious! The homemade basil ranch is a must order each time too! Palm Springs/Palm Desert is not always the most vegan-friendly, so I was very excited to try this spot! I ordered the hippie veg sandwich and pear tart (warmed). Both were great. Lots of good menu items and goodies in the shop. Lots of available seating and parking. Only thing is that I don't love overly-manufactured vegan products, so I would recommend sticking to the homemade cashew-based "crack cheese" rather than the fake cheese alternatives that are in other menu items. read more

The exterior has curb appeal. They have a wooden patio with outdoor seating and misters for those very hot days. No one was sitting outside though, they were inside. The entry to the restaurant leads to the cashier and all around this room are vegan products. There is another room for dining. I ordered take out and paid in advance. I was greeted when I came in. My food was ready when I arrived. I ordered the chupacabara chick'n sandwich. The torpedo roll was pretty good. It had a nice Crunch to it. I liked the pickled jalapeños but the taste was subdued. There was 2 small slices of seitan. I really couldn't taste it to be honest. I felt overall that this was just a regular veggie sandwich, nothing special. 7/10. I think I should've tried one of the power burgers or salad. I got the apple tart desert. It was OK. It was really dry. The apple slices on top were all stuck together. They were difficult to chew. Drove an hour to this restaurant and was a bit disappointed by the service. We ordered ahead and somehow our order entirely disappeared despite having paid for it online. There was some confusion but we ended up paying twice until later when it was apparent the the staff that we did make an order online. Overall the experience was less than pleasing. I went with the Bahn Mi & You because a restaurant in Sac (Mendocino Farms) has an amazing vegan bahn mi. The pictures online looked like maybe not that much tofu so I paid $2.5 more to get extra, but it wasn't needed. There was so much yummy flavor in this sandwich - Seared garlic chili tofu, pickled daikon and carrot, cucumber, jalapeño pickles, cilantro, mint, basil, spicy mayo. I'm not really a mayo fan, but I left it on because the sandwich at Mendocino Farms tastes pretty dry without it or avo added. I then was debating on a side (fries, salad, etc.) or dessert. Another hard decision! Because I was super hungry, I ruled out salad. The fries looked bomb, but I try not to eat many of them...it was between fries and chocolate cake - the fries win me over. Organic, hand cut, tossed in Chef T's spice mix. Comes with your choice of dipping sauce. I'm boring so just got ketchup. However, I hardly used any sauce because the fries were amazing on their own. Lots of seasoning so almost like hand cut curly fries (that weren't curly either).
