Best spot for Asian food in the area. The owner and staff always treat us like family

I ordered takeout from Chef Wang for the first time ever and it will definitely be a repeat. I ordered it through Yelp (who knew!?) and it was delivered on a Friday night in the rain in under 30 minutes. That has to be some sort of record. Also, the man who delivered our food was so kind and on a random note - was dressed really well. We ordered the Wonton Soup - great broth and tons of wontons! It also came with a pre-packaged bag of noodles that were tasty. We also had the Sesame Chicken and Beef with Broccoli and Egg Rolls. The portions were very generous - enough to split among 4 people. It was authentic Chinese food and really delicious. The food was devoured and there was still some left over that I had for lunch the next day and it was just as tasty as the night before. I never re-heat takeout Chinese, but this was so good. Definitely ordering here again and after reading the other reviews, may have to go in for a meal as well. read more

Went here tonight for dinner. one person. soup and dumpling appetizer good. When one hour and 5 minutes had passed since my arrival and I still had not been served my entre, the waiter said he was sorry but they were very busy. I asked for the check and left. Very sad. First time to write review in Yelp. We come to this place very often since I love authentic Chinese Food. The food here is good. Just the management and service are sort of new and sloppy. That's the main reason I only give them 3 star. I order the same dish every time but the dish serves differently every time.... Sometime with veggie on top sometime not. I guess their Chef changes all the time ? We once ordered two dumpling appetizer , but the waitress serve the main course and the dipping sauce without dumplings .We did not see our dumplings until we finish our main course! When I asked why is our appetizer, she said she thought we already finish it!? No one clean our dish while we eat. Then they served our overcooked appetizer at the end. This is very bad example of not well-manage restaurant. I will give it try since it's a new one. But do hope the manager can really work on their service. It is important that you food is good, but also important to have good service in Long Island. read more

Just ordered for the first time an everything was terrible, the Dan Dan noodles were so salty you couldn't eat it, the general tso chicken was ok, the egg roll was like mush inside, the wontons in the soup was like mush, the fried dumplings were terrible. I don't know what the hype was in the reviews but Stay Away! The website said free delivery with a 15 dollar minimum within a 4 mile radius, I'm 2.9 miles from them an they told me it's not 4 miles anymore it's 2.9, so I said what the hell 4 bucks is nothing if the food was good but that was not true. The Orchid in Garden City is the best an the same price, I hope this review helps some of you people out there, an I'm not a picky person, but it was just bad. I see most of these reviews I read have a pic of the food on it an how good it was, my belief is that Chef Wang is posting most of these, please be careful my friends. read more

Pretty solid & authentic Chinese food--a great find on Long Island. If you like Szechuan cuisine, they have a lot of great spicy dishes.

Three of us had one of the worst Chinese meals ever (6 decades). Moo she pork was mediocre, cold Sichuan noodles was the worst we ever had, the spare ribs were okay as was beef chow fun. We were given a free hot and sour soup to take out and it was okay, but not worth eating. In fact, in general, the food was just not worth eating. There have to be better choices of Chinese restaurants in Nassau County. read more

Personally i love hot pots and anything numbing and spicy. I have to say this place is not for everyone. If you dont know what sichuan cuisine is then you may be confused. This restaurant is truly authentic, and the dishes here are very well seasoned with variety. I love mala tang which in chinese it means numbing and spicy hot pot. Dont walk into this restaurant with the mentality of oh im gonna buy beef with broccoli becuase you will be disappointed. I actually cant belive that theres people here who take stars off this restaurant becuase the egg roll tasted nasty. Well no shit that egg roll is gonna taste nasty because its not real chinese food anyway. If you want ur egg roll or moo shu whatever then go to panda express. But dont come to an authentic chinese restaurant that specializes in sichuan cuisine and write a bad review about chicken with broccoli. Remeber you took the time to walk into this establishment. Its like walking into a gyro spot and expecting burgers instead of gyros. Get your facts straight people. Fyi panda express is a fake chinese restaurant. Absolutely fabulous! On our first visit here w had the cumin lamb and the chili prawns. They were both great and very different from the usual Chinese restaurant fare. Also the dumplings in a spicy sauce were great. We let the waiter suggest the dishes and were not disappointed. They do have some American style Chinese food on the menu but we consciously stayed away from that. We intend to go back and explore the menu. read more

The food is ok. But I have to say that the service is disaster!!!During my dinner, the waiters were quite busy with other customers and just ignored my table. When I asked for the bill, the waiter said I can have a discount if I pay by cash. I told him I don't have cash with me and asked if I can pay with credit card. I can't even believe that the waiter said" oh, it seems like you are even poorer than me"! What he said totally made my dinner a disaster! It's such a terrible dining experience in this restaurant. I have been here three times with my friend, there were not so many customers as today and we got better service. But I would never ever come here again or recommend it to others. I really really like this place. They have great wontons in hot oil and pad thai. My husband likes their soup dumplings. It's the only place around that delivers soup dumplings, so points for that, but the skin is way too think for my taste. Everything we've ordered is high quality. DO NOT EAT HERE. we ate there tonight based on the yelp reviews which were all lies. After ordering which took over one hour and we still did not receive our dinner we were told that it was chinese valentines day which is why we did not get our food. Well i googled that July 7th is Chinese valentines day. Today is August 28th. Everyone not a couple around us was being served, so this is valentines day???. My husband eventually got his generals tsaos chicken which was so grizzly that when we got home he had to floss my teeth. I still never got my food so we told them to cancel my order. But how come all of the other people that came in after us got their food wayyyy before we did??? And one of the workers admitted it was not Chinese Valentines day. Wake up New Hyde Park!!!! I was surprised to find authentic Sichuanese in this area. It isn't on a level with the best places in Flushing, but it is good and I would recommend it. The 'new Sichuan' dishes appear to be influenced by the recent popularity of Northern and Western Chinese cuisine; we stuck with the traditional Sichuanese dishes. Had the mapo dofu, eggplant in garlic sauce, boiled fish with pickled cabbage, beef tendon in chili oil. Given the location they also have to have the usual Chinese-American and even sushi, which is usually the sign of an at best mediocre Chinese restaurant, but this place is good. read more

They wouldn't offer the famous Ba Jiao hot pot for any parties fewer than 5 people. Also, you can't choose soup base from the variety that they list on the menu. Only the regular Yuan Yang soup base was available for us. read more

Came here for the 1st time and was very pleased - all our dishes ( cumin lamb, chicken fried rice, eel avacado roll, Spicy salmon roll and shrimp tempura roll) were flavorful and very tasty. The place was also nicely decorated and had a relaxing feel...would definitely come again! read more

Food is OK, not amazing but by no means bad. Service is an issue. I have now been there twice and have had the same problem both times. Each visit I was a party of two and each visit they have brought one person's food out 20 minutes before the other persons meal, during lunch, with 3 other tables in the restaurant, no excuse. You must bring both guests food at the same time, its service 101. Also the service is unorganized, multiple servers approached us each time with the same question. 4 people asked me if I wanted something to drink within a 2 minute span, how about draw up a floor plan and have some rhyme or reason to service instead of the free for all. Compared to Chinese and sushi in the area, its on the high end price wise and low end portion wise. The taste doesn't make up for the average food or the complete lack of service. read more

This Friday night my family and I Ordered, egg rolls, general tsos chicken, scallion pancakes, pork dumplings, and the happy family. Now we have never tried the happy family from this restaurant before. When we opened the happy family platter, it was NOT what we had expected, we called them, spoke to them and explained how we were disappointed. Great soup dumplings , although the bottom of the dumplings were not cooked enough , you guys should improve on that one , sometime a small little detail . You may lose a star on your rating , the pork with bean curd had too much celery in it , otherwise it was delicious , scallion pancake was perfect , crispy on the outside , soft in the inside , but the tea was a little cold , derive is 5 stars all the way . read more

Took mom here for a wonderful lunch of sashimi and sushi. VERY fresh fish, beautifully prepared and priced very well as a lunch special. The lunch menu seems a little less seasoned. Ordered the human style chicken, steamed veggies dumplings, mango shrimp salsa roll and Philadelphia roll. The human chicken was not seasoned well, and the rolls were not full rolls also the cucumber in the rolls did not look fresh. The Philadelphia roll was spot on. Ive been to chef wang a couple months ago and was happy with the service. Wait times were kind of long, but the waiters and waitresses made sure to keep us in the loop and didn't keep us twiddling our thumbs. Recently however, I've seen a severe decline in service.. The food is still fairly good but oh my goodness the service has suffered greatly. Last time after taking our order, we were left sitting for an hour, no waiters came by to refill our water or give us updates. A table of 10 across the hall was able to get their food and finish their meal and leave before we even got a refill on our water. When the food finally arrived, we finished in 15minutes and left.. Most of the food in take home boxes because we just wanted to get out of there. Their excuse when we told them the service was terrible was "i know, don't come on a weekend". Lame excuse if you ask me, and as i had been there previously, i know how busy it can get and that night was nowhere near as busy at it usually is. Needlessly to say, our family left very disappointed and scratched chef wang off as a go to spot for a cheap dinner out. read more
