the most amazing hand made chocolate truffles!

Chefany made me the most AMAZING hand made chocolate truffles! They were beautiful, and incredible delicious. These had salted caramel ganache. I also felt good that she used organic, fair trade, non-gmo chocolate. They are seriously the best. I wish I could give her a 6 star review.

Chef Stefany was an absolute delightful person to work with. She accommodated our big dreams and vision for a delicious and affordable wedding cake and OHHH YESSS she definitely delivered! She even encouraged us to enjoy all three layers on our special day and to contact her for our 1 year anniversary to make us a new cake free of charge-- I mean talk about going above and beyond! There are not enough stars to do her justice!

If you're planning a wedding, make this your one and only Wedding Stop. This is opened by Chef Stephany Buswell with over 30 years of baking experience. She is also currently the *BEST* chef instructor at the Professional Culinary Institute where I've had the pleasure of learning from for the last 10-months. If you're looking for quality and taste, Chef Stephany is your answer. She is teaming up with Marty Ryhanych of New View Photography and Andrea Mollenauer of Lifestyle Culinary Arts catering and wedding co-ordinating. They also have many other referrals to offer and are promoting local businesses and offering discounts to couples who choose more than three services. So say "I DO" to the Wedding Stop & Cake Shoppe!

Stephany is amazing! I reached out to her during shelter-in-place to see if she was still working and could make a baby gender cake. Obviously we weren't doing any sort of party, but I wanted a fun way for my husband and I to find out our baby's sex, rather than just opening an email from my doctor with the results. If you are considering doing this I highly recommend it! It was actually a really fun way to find out - I mean finding out anything in life is always better with cake :) Stephany was super responsive and make an awesome chocolate cake with layers of ganache and peanut butter buttercream frosting. Honestly one of the best cakes I've ever had! And Stephany literally had the cake ready two days after my friend sent her the results. If you are in need of a delicious cake, I highly recommend reaching out to Stephany.

My amazing Parents to Bee (bumble bee theme) baby shower cake and cupcakes! delicious AND beautiful!!!!

I had a baby shower and I was honored to have Stephanie make my cake. It was absolutely beautiful AND the best part.... it tasted great!!!!! usually these fancy cakes look great but don't taste that great. All my guests were surprised how yummy it was! :-) And the cupcakes!!! OMG amazing!!!! It was originally going to be a gender reveal cake but I changed my mind last min and decided I had gone 34 weeks without knowing the gender, why not just wait?! When she delivered the cake my girlfriends were quick to ask if she could tell them the gender, lol, and idk if they really offered her money or not but she did not budge. We are 38 weeks now and she is still the only one that knows the gender aside from our doctor :-) Thank you again for such a wonder job!!! I highly recommend her services and will definitely seek her services again in the future!

Intrigued, we decided to step inside and check it out. The building has a wonderful setup, functioning like a mini marketplace with charming little shops nestled inside. The one that immediately caught our eye, of course, was The Penny Ice Creamery. Right off the bat, I loved the aesthetic of the shop. The design is nice, simple, and wonderfully understated--nothing is over the top. It has a clean, minimalist vibe that makes you feel instantly welcome and lets the focus stay right where it belongs: on the treats. While the rest of the crew decided to sit this round out, my son and I eagerly stepped up to order. My son went with a classic scoop of Vanilla Bean. To say it was a hit would be an understatement. He kept talking about how delicious it was and just how good the flavor tasted. I decided to try the Chocolate Toffee Swirl. The chocolate base itself was rich and tasty, though I do wish it had a bit more of that crunch--it could have used a heavier hand with the toffee, as the pieces were a little sparse in my scoop. One thing worth noting is that they feature a curated, rotating selection. While everything they make is fresh, the menu is on the smaller side, so you do have to choose from what's available that day. I'd love to see them expand the menu a bit in the future because I'd definitely be curious to try more of their creations. We ordered the "kid scoops," which turned out to be good portions. Being a supportive dad, I naturally stepped in and finished the rest of his vanilla bean--and I can officially confirm his review was fairly accurate. Overall, The Penny Ice Creamery is a cool little shop with good treats. If you find yourself exploring the shops inside The Picnic Basket, it's absolutely worth a stop to cool down with a scoop. Have you been to The Penny Ice Creamery yet? What's your favorite flavor combo? Let me know in the comments below.

It starts by them using quality ingredients. They use Marianne's vanilla ice cream, and Valrhona chocolate (a French chocolate used by gourmet chefs). You can choose milk chocolate or dark. They have a bunch of options for what you can include in your bar, including chopped almonds, caramel, and marshmallow. My favorite is #4: dark chocolate with caramel and marshmallow. It is insanely good. After each bite I am thinking "oh my god this is good." Frankly I am glad it is in Santa Cruz (and not in my town) or I might be 50 lbs heavier. I just had one yesterday and the experience is still vivid. Oh, and their chocolates (which also use Valrhona chocolate) are also damn good. And if you like brownies they've got you covered too. The guys running this place could not be nicer, which makes this place a joy to visit. This is really an exceptional place to come to and we are lucky to have it in our area. I am now a regular almost every time I am in Santa Cruz (and I come here often).

The person working was very kind and working so hard, they were busy! I am glad I preordered. I did enjoy my own matcha, sweetness was 50% and mango was yummy. Came with a little matcha ice cream in a cup(it's considered a topping but optional). It was very good matcha ice cream! I think the taro drink tasted good, but my daughter did not like the brown sugar boba. I think It is just how the boba comes and is made, but it did have extra texture that was unexpected with the boba mix. It also came as a smoothie and I couldn't find an option to just make it a milk tea. So unfortunately my kiddo did not drink it. Would like to see a regular taro milk tea over ice without being blended. Maybe I just didn't order correctly. But I would be back for the matcha.
