    Beef rib ramen
    Rebecca K.

I give this place 3.5 stars. I came here on a Monday (Memorial Day) a little after they opened. They took over Macau Cafe space, so plenty of parking was available. We were seated immediately and staff came by regularly to check on us. We ordered the braised beef ramen and the beef rib ramen. The place got pretty packed as it got closer to the lunch hour. This place gave the impression of eat and go. I still need to try other dishes so I would need to come back to give their menu another try. Pros: food came out fast after we ordered. The beef rib ramen broth was more on the plain side, I feel it could've used a little more flavor. I enjoyed the braised beef ramen, it had a good amount of spices in the broth but felt like it was more on the oily side. Cons: the broth could use a little more flavor.

I came in already not expecting too much from the place due to the mixed reviews. (I'm giving a 3 star rating, but it's more a accurately a 3.5.) I always want to try any place with hand-pulled noodles, so my family gave it a go. Note: Only their "ramen" side of the menu is the hand-pulled noodles. I verified this with a server. It was average, both food and service, in my opinion. I tried the Braised Beef Ramen, Tomato and Egg Ramen, and Chive & Pork Dumplings. The Braised Beef Ramen was fine, didn't love the taste of the broth, but the dishes had a good portion size. I was expecting the Tomato and Egg Ramen to come out like a soup, but it's like a paste that's dished on top of the ramen...also didn't care much for the flavor. Don't think the dumplings are fresh, as they were served partially cold (like they were heated in a microwave unevenly). We had four adults and one child, but for some reason they only brought three cups of water. We were also seated at a table four, but they allowed us to move to a table of five. Tables are pretty crammed together with a wide walkway area in the middle of the restaurant. Unlike some other hand-pulled noodle places, there's no option for different noodle size. It's nice to have another restaurant that offers this type of noodles, but my experience didn't give me a reason to stop by again anytime soon.

They might still be working out the kinks so I will give them some time. I think it depends on what you order as some items were good, but others were disappointing. The wonton noodle soup was a no go, the beef chow fun was good, and beef brisket with the fresh pulled noodle is good but skip the one with the regular noodle. Cucumber salad and the Beef Rolls were okay.

Found this place on social media and we decided to check it out. Got sat immediately and gave us menus to look at. Menu wasn't too big but it was decent. Ordered the beef roll, cucumber salad, beef rib noodle soup and braised beef soup. Pretty average taste for the soups but the freshness of the noodles was great. Cucumber salad was so mid, I wasn't impressed. Have definitely had better. Beef roll was alright also. Decent sized inside with plenty of tables.

I saw some reviews of this place and decided to check it out. It's the old Macau Cafe location. It's in a strip mall with a lot of parking. We found a spot right in front. It was early dinner time They have a cute mascot in the front of the restaurant. They took out the old booths and now mostly tables and chairs in there . It was nice and open. The counter was still there . We were greeted right away and seated in front by the front window. She gave us a menu and went to get us some water. The menu is not that big. No big meats like chicken or duck here. They specialize in fresh pulled noodles and have it on the front of the menu. We tried the clear broth beef ramen and it was really good. The noodles were fresh and you could tell they were scratch made. The broth was good flavor. Only beef and noodles in it. I wish it had vegetables too. It was a really nice size. The wife got the Won ton with ramen. It only had like 4 wontons. Disappointing for sure. I guess to off set getting the ramen. It was good and the wonton had a big piece of shrimp in each one. The wife liked it to. It was smaller than the beef noodles. This place had more Americanized dishes than the Chinese stuff. Orange chicken, beef and broccoli, sweet and sour pork. I mean it was good what we had but I want more options and not Americanized Chinese food. The wife and I had the same idea of this place. More of a lunch place than dinner. We would come back for the handmade noodles but once in a while . If you know what I mean you know.

I heard they pull their own noodles and I had to try. I love fresh noodles. They have two menus, one is their regular menu and the other is their special hand pull noodle dishes. The special dishes are just hand pull soup dishes. Of course we ordered a hand pulled noodle soup and a regular won ton noodle soup. Both were good. You can tell the pulled noodles are fresh. It just has a different texture. The won ton noodle soup was pretty good too, but there was only four won tons in the dish. The won ton had pork and a whole shrimp, wrapped. It was good, but 4 is not enough. The noodles are just the regular won ton thin noodles you usually get with the soup. The service was ok. Nothing special to what you get in an Asian restaurant. The staff were nice. The place is remodeled and cleaner from where it use to be Macau Cafe. I would come again, when I'm craving for some noodle soups. This place is a little out of my area and a little further I have to drive to.

Came here with my family for dinner and honestly it was a pretty decent spot for ramen and noodles. I ordered the braised beef ramen and the portion size was really generous. The broth had a lot of flavor and tasted rich without being too salty. The beef itself was a little fattier than I personally like, but it was still tender and good overall. The cucumber salad was super refreshing and balanced out the heavier dishes nicely. My favorite thing by far though was the beef roll. Even though the bread was slightly dry, the flavor was really good and it honestly reminded me of a duck bun. I feel like serving it with a side of hoisin sauce for dipping would make it even better. My family also ordered a few other dishes including chicken chow mein and wings. They ordered a beef rib soup and this other dish I forgot the name but they said it was good. Everyone seemed happy with what they got. The noodles looked fresh and the portions were solid. One thing I was disappointed about was the drinks. They only had Coke and 7Up in cans, which I'm personally not a fan of, and we also found out they no longer serve boba even though it's still listed on the menu. Hopefully they update that soon because it was a little confusing when ordering. Service was quick and friendly overall, and the restaurant itself was clean and comfortable. The only downside was that my husband's dish came out way later after everyone else had already started eating, and we had to flag down the server to ask about it. When it finally came, it was also in a much smaller bowl compared to the rest of the dishes at the table which felt a little odd. Other than that, it was a pretty okay experience overall. I'm not usually someone who craves ramen or noodle soup, but if you're into hand pulled noodles and comforting soups, this place is worth trying at least once

Really great new place in Land Park! This replaced the institution Macau Cafe, potentially just a rebrand. The hand pulled noodles are really good! There are six options for the hand pulled noodles dishes but I asked for the shrimp wonton with the hand pulled noodles and they were able to accommodate. We were also able to try the tomato egg and the braised beef and both were also excellent. The braised beef was a bit spicy and had a very distinct Chinese flavor. The beef in it was super tender and delicious. The tomato egg was sweet and very well seasoned. I think the shrimp wonton could have used a bit more flavor. The broth had some depth but I added some chili oil and it was perfect. The staff are very efficient and nice. Their english is a bit limited but they are still very patient and respectful. Minimal decor but clean and had very basic Chinese lucky symbols - the lucky cat and bamboo plants.

Came for lunch. The last time I was here was when it was Macau café. This is next to Sprouts. It wasn't too busy. Was seated immediately. Ordered the Shrimp Wonton Noodle Soup. It has pork & shrimp so was very disappointed as I thought it was all shrimp only. Nothing on the menu stated pork & shrimp. I would've ordered something else. I had to use the restroom. The hallway to the restroom smelled terrible with smoke. Someone in the kitchen or the back is smoking like crazy. Im not sure I'll be back here. Staff were ok.

This place is okay. It's fairly new so, it's nice and clean inside. I'm giving them a generous 4 stars since they are newer. The food: - beef scallion pancake roll: this was the best thing I ate here. Just a solid beef roll that was freshly prepared. Would definitely get this again. And if you've never had a beef roll, do it. Unless you have a big aversion to hoisin sauce or cilantro. - Braised Beef Ramen: this isn't ramen. It's Lanzhou spicy beef noodles. The hand-pulled noodles themselves are good and fine. Nice texture. However, the broth here really needs some work. It's very thin and really lacks much depth of flavor. The spice level is fairly low. The beef does suck up more of the flavor and spice, so those are the better bites. - Fried sauce ramen: this is a dry noodle dish. It was pretty good. Reminiscent of chapaghetti (and , I like me some chapaghetti). It definitely had more flavor than the soup noodles. The portion is quite large. - pan-fried potstickers: these were fine. They had the crust at the bottom of them but weren't really crispy at all. A decent, if middling, dumpling.

Braised pork spare rib ramen looks good in picture. Nice bed of noodles and braised pork spare rib.

Ordered the braised pork ramen. The picture looked good but what I got didn't look braised to me. Lifeless and tasteless pork. Broth was weak also. Should've ordered it spicy. Came here for grand opening and got a lot more noodles. Now it looks like 60% of what it used to be. Server and cleanliness was good.

Word of advice, make sure you check your bill against the menu prices before yoy give your credit card, they overcharge sometimes and will not correct it on the spot.

Came on mothers day around 12 ish, sooo busy, luckily we got seated after waiting a couple minutes. Im not sure how busy they normally are. We ordered beef rib ramen, braised beef ramen, a beef brisket noodle soup, and a beef roll pancake. All of it came out in the span of like 20 mins. The flavoring of the broth was very mild but clean(?) in a way so it wasnt bad. Meat was pretty tender but some meaty parts were quite tough. They gave a lot of noodle compared to other toppings and broth. Major complaint was all the noodles were all tangled together so it made it hard to eat lol. The beef rib was like 80% fat with a fat bone so not worth it tbh. Beef roll was pretty good tbh, nice crunch, a yummy sauce and some greens inside so a good side. Service wasnt bad, they were quite busy but theres like 4 ish ppl working around so theyre decently attentive. Overall the food wasnt bad but wasnt amazing. Pricing is standard but i feel like it wasnt a lot of food for what we paid.

Guess in the area it a common thing. Anyway, the restaurant itself was decent in size. Plenty of parking available. Sunday and it was mellow in a sense. Still pretty busy but we didn't have to wait for a table. It's not your traditional Chinese dim sum restaurant with the carts walking down the aisle and you picking what you want. Here, they give you the menu and you mark down how many items you want. Both dim sum and traditional dishes are on there. Price wise, it's fairly decent but some dishes were a bit pricey compared to other places. Still worth checking out. Mark what you want on the menu which they then take and dishes are brought out. Of course we had to have the classic. Shu Mai and so on. Bbq pork slices, Chinese broccoli in oyster sauce, sticky rice in banana leaves, to name a few. The dim sum did come out pretty fast. Classic Chinese dishes like the chow fun did come out a little later as it had to be made. Overall, the food was quite tasty. I do see why my friends did recommend this place. It was a nice crowd of people that was here for brunch. Loads of family enjoying their meal. For our group, the bill came just under 300. They did include gratuities to it which they did inform us. We got a decent amount of dim sum as well as the other dishes. Food was good and service was great. All the staffs were very friendly and sweet. Drinks were refilled pretty fast after asking. Would definitely be back when we're in the area.

Its been so bad the past decade that we decided to give it another chance. Different management, different chefs, different everything basically. The fried flounder was so fried that I could not separate the bones, not only that, you could barely get any meat out of it. Our table had nine people and they only provided 6 buns with our peking duck. I thought they didn't have enough steamer space and was going to bring more but nope. The shrimp in their salted egg pumpkin and shrimp dishes was overcooked and their deep fried pig intestines were extremely stinky. Their portion sizes downsized like crazy and it's so bad that we didn't even finish any of the dishes. The best dish was a stir fry cauliflower dish that I could make at home. It was supposed to come with pork, but I only saw itty bitty pieces of meat. The service was also super bad and slow. I was eating their fried rice and bit on a piece of broken yellow plastic with multiple sharp points. Prior to that, I was feeding my toddler the rice so THANKFULLY it didn't go to him. When we told the server, which was an older lady with glasses and bangs, she's like oh... then she took it to the kitchen and pretended that nothing had ever happened when she came back out. Shes been there for years, and I remember seeing her when we were regulars. I wasn't expecting anything, except for some accountability. I used to love this place so it's pretty sad to see how much it went downhill.... This business needs to be scrapped. The current 3 stars is giving them too much credit and it must have been due to when they used to be good, in the past.

We had some friends over and decided to grab some traditional and non traditional Chinese cuisine for lunch. Hence we opted to dine at Lucky Jade for their diverse menu, accommodations to dishes due to allergy constraints, and fast service. So what did we order: 1) chicken teriyaki with sauce on the side: the entree arrived covered with teriyaki sauce. What was troubling, the server was trying to have our diner accept the kitchens mistake of covering the chicken with sauce..even when our diner refused, the server tried again to convince our diner to accept this dish. finally, the head wait staff told the server to take the item back to the kitchen. However, when the dish returned, the chicken was no longer grilled but fried. I hope the kitchen didn't rinsed the chicken off of the teriyaki sauce and deep fried the same chicken instead of grilling a fresh piece of chicken. Plus, our diners bowl of rice was forgotten and we had to remind the wait staff. 2) broccoli chicken w/fried rice: it was your basic american chinese dish and our diner only orders chinese combo plates. So he had no complaints. 3) Green bean chicken in black bean sauce: very nice black bean flavor, tender moist chicken but half of the green beans were old and stringy. The prep cook needed better prepping in food preparation- please toss out old green beans before the cooks prepare an entree- what was sad, this dish is always exceptionally well prepared in the past. Not today. 4) fried smelt: very good. no complaints on this dish. 5) chicken and asparagus in garlic sauce: moist chicken but again the prepping of the asparagus was lacking. When our wait staff informed us that they had fresh asparagus- we jumped to her reco. Unfortunately, this dish was served with the woody bottom ends of the asparagus. Which is tough, stringy, and just inedible. Plus, our dishes arrived at different times- in some cases 5-10 minutes apart. Perhaps the Kitchen staff had communication and food prep issues today. Not sure, but i would not recommend dining here on a Sunday. Perhaps the "B or C" team of cooks and prep cooks were definitely working tonight. And the wait staff should have caught the mistake from the kitchen and never served that dish...let alone, trying to push a dish that was not properly prepared or requested by the diner. That is also unacceptable. sorry no pics. Would I return....not sure now.

Bottom line, in my humble opinion, ABC Bakery is the original "OG" for take out dim sum in the south area. It is still probably the best dim sum with most of these items listed in terms of flavor, quality, and service. Although prices are slightly higher from a year or so ago, it is still relatively less expensive than Tai Pan and Dim Dim food. There are no parking challenges, staff are efficient with unnecessary attitude, and items are fresh and not constantly sitting in steamers throughout the day- yes, food turnover is probably the best of all three locations. Again, i would patronize ABC Bakery first and Dim Dim Food second. The Portuguese egg tart from Dim Dim Food is outstanding. And if you order their Pineapple Bao it does have a better flavor than the ones from ABC Bakery. No pics necessary. just go and try the various delicacies from ABC Bakery.
