    Waygu beef ravioli

Creative menu with exciting flavors that you won't find anywhere else. We had the calamari appetizer to start; hands down the best I've ever had! The Caesar salad was unique with its crunchy phyllo topping vs the usual boring croutons. Hubby had the waygu beef stuffed ravioli with porcini cream sauce and it was fabulous. I had the scallops with crawfish risotto done to perfection. We were too stuffed for dessert but the choices sounded very good.

Never a bad meal here. But don't expect to just drop in, make a reservation. My bacon brie chicken was amazing, as was the goat cheese risotto balls appetizer!

    Thanksgiving miracle!

Just cant decide if its a full 5. Ill stick at 4.5 and you can go and decide. The recommended Juggernaugt wine is a must at a great price.

Note: I had wrong location before. My bad…read more This is the fourth Italian restaurant I have tried in the area: two in Waynesville and two in Maggie Valley. I still haven't tried the one in Sylva (heard good things), and I think I'll pass on the one in Bryson City. As for this joint, the outdoor dining area is supreme. Well, maybe it was just supreme on that day thanks to the weather. I was on my way to poker (it went well again thanks to me designing and applying TNP a year ago), and I wanted to get some good calories under my belt since tourney poker players don't eat much for 7-10 days when WSOPC is in town. I definitely got the calories! The Chicken Parm and pasta portion here is HUGE! The salad is also the best salad of the four Italian restaurants I have tried in the area. For bread, the garlic knots were very high quality, and if you like garlic knots, you will love it. But in the bread category for me, Frankie's wins with ease, simply because it's a large portion of traditional Italian bread with butter. I love butter. In fact, it's one of my favorite things in life. Sometimes when I'm driving and I glance at my rearview mirror, it looks like a stick of butter, especially during sunrise. For Chicken Parm, I have Frankie's and Bizzaro's tied for the lead over Vale and Bocelli's. But all four are good! For pasta, Bocelli's is in last. For some reason, that sauce works well with the Chicken Parm but not with the linguine. I give Bizarro's the nod for best pasta of the four. For service, all four are amazing. For value, Bizarro's. For atmosphere, Frankie's. For outdoor dining, Bocelli's. For quality red wine, Vale by a mile. Best red wine I have ever tasted! For storytelling, Vale! He will feel like a good friend within a 15 minutes. So ... for Bocelli's, solid Chicken Parm, best salad, great garlic knots, didn't love the pasta, and excellent service and outdoor dining. Definitely recommended! I need to try the pizza at all these places next round.

The food however was disappointing. My husband had the Tortellini which he said was good but not the best he's ever had. I had the Eggplant parmesan which was the worst I've ever had! I'm not sure if it wasn't cooked enough or what but there was so much breading that I couldn't taste the eggplant and it was so thick it was hard to swallow. When I scraped it off to eat the eggplant I realized the eggplant was paper thin sliced. The mozzarella slices on top were hard! The worst part was that the waitress never asked how our food was and never questioned the MOUND of breading I left on my plate at the end. Guess we were paying for ambience alone.

I don't know what was wrong with that guy, but as a writer and a human, I can assure you that no matter what you do, you can never make everyone happy all the time. That's why it's best to just be authentically you. I got a little off-topic there. What I saying was ... the only negative reviews are for long wait times for takeout or if the dining-in crowd thinks the takeout orders have taken priority over their food. It has nothing to do with the quality of the food. I dined-in and sat outside. The wait times for food were right on the money. I didn't feel rushed and it didn't take too long. I could enjoy my meal and the experience. I have been to Frankie's across the street and had two meals there: Chicken Parm and the Spaghetti & Meatballs. The Chicken Parm was much stronger than the Spaghetti & Meatballs. So when comparing the two Chicken Parm dishes, they are equal but polar opposites. Frankie's is a fancier place with all the bells and whistles. It's a great vibe but also a little expensive. The Chicken Parm is thicker and you get a side of pasta but have to pay for the salad. At Bizzarro, the Chicken Parm is a much thinner cut but still a large portion, you can get angel hair pasta (a rare treat), and you don't have to pay for the salad. For bread, you get traditional at Frankie's and garlic knots at Bizzaro's. I'm not a huge fan of garlic but during this meal, I realized I like garlic knots if I eat them upside down. As for vibe/atmosphere, at Bizzaro, I walked through the little service area to get to the outdoor tables. As I ate, there were parked cars right there, someone mowing a lawn in the distance, and the TV was on from the service area. I would usually not like these things, but I loved it here. It completely fit the vibe of feeling at home and just chilling on the deck. Add the friendly staff and you will feel very welcomed. While the Chicken Parms are different yet equal, Bizzaro's definitely wins for value as you get similar portions plus a salad at a much lower price. I'm glad I found Bizzaro's and I have added it as a go-to when in town. I'll still hit Frankie's too, but maybe Bizarro more often. It always depends on the second visit. I didn't try the pizza yet but I'm sure it's good. The only negative here is the awkward and small parking lot but no big deal. Highly recommended!

For example, I love the meatball over polenta appetizer but there is such a small amount of polenta. And for the price, it would be nice to be have a little more pasta served with the entrees. We also tried the mussels, mushroom fettuccine and a rabbit dish that I'm totally forgetting the name of. The rabbit dish was amazing but it had too much salt. The mushroom fettuccine on the other hand was lacking something, it didn't have that umami flavor to it. However, both were really good selections and you could tell that the pasta was handmade. As for the mussels they were good, but I probably wouldn't order them again. Our server was wonderful and the inside of Ilda is super cute! I would definitely recommend this restaurant to friends, but I think you need to make a reservation in advance. We finally found it at Ristorante DellaSantina and I can't believe we hadn't heard of this place before! My husband ordered the Filet Special, which came with two 4 oz. filets, shrimp, and a choice of pasta. He chose the capellini with their Valentino sauce, and everything was fantastic. The filets were perfectly tender and seasoned beautifully (enough seasoning to enhance the flavor of the meat without overpowering it). The shrimp and pasta were excellent as well. He also tried the Pecan Old Fashioned, which was definitely on the sweeter side but still very good. It was gentle enough for me to enjoy, although probably a little too bite-free for my husband, who prefers his drinks with a little more punch. He also ordered a blue cheese dirty martini and was thrilled that it was made with real blue cheese. He absolutely loved it. He finished with the salted caramel cappuccino, which was fantastic. I had the lasagna, and it was delicious. The sauce very clearly tasted homemade, and that made all the difference. We each chose the Caesar salad that came with our meals, and it was actually a really pleasant surprise as it was incredibly flavorful and much better than the typical obligatory side salad you get at a restaurant. I also had an espresso martini, and it was perfect. We started with the bruschetta, which was good, but then came a really nice surprise: warm focaccia bread provided complimentary. That focaccia was wonderful and such a thoughtful touch. For dessert, we shared the tiramisu. It was very good, although I personally would have liked a stronger espresso flavor. We also ordered cannolis to take home, so we'll get to enjoy those later! Honestly, I don't have anything bad to say about this restaurant. From the food to the drinks to the little touches, everything felt thoughtful and genuinely well done. Our server Lexus was wonderful. We will absolutely be back. I'm just kicking myself that it took us this long to discover Ristorante DellaSantina. If you're looking for truly good Italian food in East Tennessee, this place deserves your attention!

We had our pup with us, and it's still COVID, so we sat outside in one of the three two-seater tables on the walkway. They had a doggie water bowl for our pup. There were no chairs outside, so they had to bring some out for us, and they had some miscommunication, so it took a minute. Once we had the chairs, our server was so helpful and friendly. We figured out what we wanted quickly, even though it is an extensive menu with various items we would try. We began with a glass of Chardonnay and Pinot Grigio and waters (good small ice). After my first glad, I switched to a Pinot Noir (not pictured). As an app, we had the small antipasto salad with Italian dressing. It was a good enough size for us to share. While we were eating our salad, an elk walked by on the other side of the street and then crossed over to our side. Now that I eat meat, we decided to get the veggie pizza and add pepperoni. We were excited because the veggie had eggplant on it, which is a unique topping. We ordered a medium pizza, thinking we could eat it all. Well, we were so wrong; their medium is, like most places, large pizza. There were eight large slices. I had her bring me a side of Caesar dressing to dip the yummy hand-tossed crust in. This was a very cheesy pizza, and we were correct; the breaded eggplant was a fabulously unique, tasty veggie topping. Bonus- our motel (Route 19) had a toaster oven, and so we warmed up the pizza for lunch the next day, and it was just as tasty. We were delighted we picked this place for dinner (and lunch).

She did not make us feel valued as customers. My friend had the chicken alfredo and when she was about 3 bites in, the roof of her mouth was stabbed by a bone in the chicken (photo provided, but cannot be seen very well) it was a long projection coming out of the chicken. when we told the waitress about it, she said "oh... we don't have anything with bones" and said said she would tell she chef. she yelled across the restaurant "(name of chef) you're fired!!" it was in a very passive aggressive manner and did not come across friendly or anything. My friend's food was still charged at full price as well. no compromise. I'm not sure why the server was acting so passive aggressive, me and my friend had just come from pride and had small flags face painted on our cheeks, so it makes me wonder if she were judging us based on our sexuality. The portion sizes on the pasta are very small. it is not worth $15 before taxes and tip for that amount of pasta. I will say, the one nice thing about this establishment is the interior design. it is cozy inside, but the rude behavior and comments from staff are what lead me to leave a review at 1 star.
