Ordered lasagna and a "house" Chianti. Shocked that the two pours were $14 a glass!! Asking for a house wine shouldn't result in that. Chianti is a $10-12 bottle at most graceries. Really work on being upfront on pricing, or better, maintain a few recommended offerings for regulars. Adjusted tip accordingly. Sorry Dominique, but pricing is a management call, not yours.

One of our three favorite restaurants in Haywood County. Best pizza by far. Very good shrimp scampi. We go regularly.

Parking is limited but it is worth a park/walk. We hit Doughboys on a Saturday while a little league tourney was going on across the street. They were packed inside and running a mob scene carryout at the same time. They handled this with ease. Inside is a large bar, a few wallside booths and mostly large tables, seat yourself first come/first served. Claim your seats then step up to the bar to order and take your number to your table. Make sure to order your drinks and food together! Plenty of draft beer choices for your thirst; ice water is served in pitchers as well. Now to the pizza. Even with the huge crush, our food was out in about 20 minutes. The pies were hot out of the oven. Excellent crust with good chew and flavor; the meat pie was cooked through (no cold gristly ham or bacon) and delicious. Sauce is spot on and not too weak. Margarita had very fresh mozzarella and basil accompanying the tomatoes. Dry rub wings were large, not overcooked and served quickly, about a dozen were in our order. Food is run to your table. Watching the staff work is always a pleasure when they've got a tight ship. Even a dropped tray of glassware in the bar (oops) didn't slow them down. They are doing it right here and it shows.

You may need to sit outside or wait for a table. The food is a bit pricey but it's so good! We ordered a salad and 2 large pizzas. The salad was a good size which 4 of us shared. Our 2 large pizzas were also a good size. They have a large selection of beers/ciders with most from local breweries.

All of the places downtown…read moreWaynesville were chock-a-block full with tourists in town for the leaves changing and other festivals, so my mom and I went looking for the local places, the places that are below the radar for the usual tourist. We found one of those places with Waynesville Pizza Company. Located down a hill off the beaten path, it is quite non-descript from the road. We figured it was perfect for us. Entering, we could smell the good smells of pizza done right, and the general hum of the place told us that it was a happy place. We went for a large pizza, good toppings on it, and it took about twenty minutes to get together. No need for extra appetizers or anything else... a large pizza was more than enough for the two of us, and we took half of it back to our hotel room for the next day (pizza for breakfast is a glorious thing!) If we get back to this area, Waynesville Pizza Company is definitely on our list to return to for a meal.

We were VERY disappointed with our last meal from Waynesville Pizza. To clarify: The restaurant is…read morestill immaculately clean. The staff are still absolutely wonderful. Our issue was solely with the food. We ordered a "build your own" 14" pizza (sausage and mushroom). The crust was wafer thin and flavorless (we did not order a thin crust pie, it just came out that way). The cheese tasted almost artificial. The sausage was scarce. The sauce was flavorless. To add insult to injury, the cost of this pizza was $24. Maybe it was an off night but the restaurant wasn't very busy at the time we came for dinner. I don't know if they are cutting food costs but whatever the case, I do hope they will get back on track. It will be a while before we go back.

I don't know what was wrong with that guy, but as a writer and a human, I can assure you that no matter what you do, you can never make everyone happy all the time. That's why it's best to just be authentically you. I got a little off-topic there. What I saying was ... the only negative reviews are for long wait times for takeout or if the dining-in crowd thinks the takeout orders have taken priority over their food. It has nothing to do with the quality of the food. I dined-in and sat outside. The wait times for food were right on the money. I didn't feel rushed and it didn't take too long. I could enjoy my meal and the experience. I have been to Frankie's across the street and had two meals there: Chicken Parm and the Spaghetti & Meatballs. The Chicken Parm was much stronger than the Spaghetti & Meatballs. So when comparing the two Chicken Parm dishes, they are equal but polar opposites. Frankie's is a fancier place with all the bells and whistles. It's a great vibe but also a little expensive. The Chicken Parm is thicker and you get a side of pasta but have to pay for the salad. At Bizzarro, the Chicken Parm is a much thinner cut but still a large portion, you can get angel hair pasta (a rare treat), and you don't have to pay for the salad. For bread, you get traditional at Frankie's and garlic knots at Bizzaro's. I'm not a huge fan of garlic but during this meal, I realized I like garlic knots if I eat them upside down. As for vibe/atmosphere, at Bizzaro, I walked through the little service area to get to the outdoor tables. As I ate, there were parked cars right there, someone mowing a lawn in the distance, and the TV was on from the service area. I would usually not like these things, but I loved it here. It completely fit the vibe of feeling at home and just chilling on the deck. Add the friendly staff and you will feel very welcomed. While the Chicken Parms are different yet equal, Bizzaro's definitely wins for value as you get similar portions plus a salad at a much lower price. I'm glad I found Bizzaro's and I have added it as a go-to when in town. I'll still hit Frankie's too, but maybe Bizarro more often. It always depends on the second visit. I didn't try the pizza yet but I'm sure it's good. The only negative here is the awkward and small parking lot but no big deal. Highly recommended!
