Chicken Teriyaki Yakisoba, Vegi Spring Rolls and Chicken Potstickers
    Kristen B.

This was good Teriyaki for Chelan. The chicken was perfectly grilled and the Yakisoba noodles were really tasty, different taste profile that I have had before. I tasted cardamom or another spice I couldn't tell for sure but I really enjoyed them. A bit of veggies, could have used more only counted a couple small carrot pieces. The Asian Slaw was good, no complaints. Pot Stickers and Veggie Spring Rolls good the plum sauce was very flavorful and the sweet chili sauce was good. The Teriyaki sauce was too salty, I didn't mind it but my mom said too much salt. We usually eat at the wok down the street but its closed , unsure if it will open. I would totally order here again the noodles were really different and good. Been staying in Chelan a lot the last few years , can't believe this was the first tike I have ordered , it won't be my last !

I knew this place had some serious potential and I was right! Since my first visit and review I have eaten here two more times. They are either reading my review or reading my mind, because my only two main negative points are resolved. Gone are the cheap wood chop sticks which are now replaced with nice metal ones. Also the chicken they are using has gotten way better. It's now thicker, juicy, and just better all around that previously. I've also tried the Yakisoba noodle dish and wow it really rocked my world. Lots of great fresh vegetables like green beans, pea pods, etc mixed in with the noodles. If it's raining out, the chef usuals makes a pot of soup. On a recent visit I got lucky and he had some lime coconut soup he made and it was fantastic!

Good food. Not Seattle portions or pricing but it's good option to have in Chelan. The slaw that came with the teriyaki added a nice crunch and tang.

We've been to this place several times and really like it. It's super clean, the décor is sharp and stylish, the food is very good, portions are large, service is great and the price is right. I had the Teriyaki Chicken, which was fresh, hot, flavorful and lovely. My husband had the Gyoza and said it was great. Several blends of tea offered are a nice extra. The staff there are all quite nice, which really enhances the experience. Each time we've been there, the owner stops by to welcome us and makes sure we're taken care of. Between the food, the price, the atmosphere and the personal service--this place is an easy home run. We'll make it a regular stop whenever we got to Chelan.

Stopped in for a meal during a conference. i would say that this is a great asian fusion menu. The food was fresh, quickly prepared and very tasty. It also was really a lot of food. I enjoyed the service and being able to watch the food being prepared. Really a nice location, and a pleasant atmosphere.

Great chicken and sauce, certainly satisfied my craving my only criticism would be the portions weren't as large as I would have liked.

If I had to summarize the restaurant in one sentence, I'd say it's a perfectly acceptable steak and sushi house with good service and fair prices, but the quality of the food didn't fully live up to the way it was presented or advertised. First, I want to give credit where it's due. The staff was genuinely friendly throughout the evening. From the moment we walked in, everyone was welcoming, attentive, and professional. Drinks were refilled consistently, food came out at a reasonable pace, and the servers checked in enough to make sure things were going well without becoming intrusive. In today's world, good customer service feels harder and harder to find, so I absolutely appreciated the effort the staff put into making the experience pleasant. The atmosphere was also about what you would expect from a modern steak and sushi restaurant. It had a nice energy to it, clean dining areas, decent lighting, and a casual upscale vibe that worked well for a dinner out. Pricing was another positive. Compared to many steak houses today, the menu prices felt relatively reasonable. Nothing seemed outrageously overpriced, especially considering they also offer sushi and a broader menu than a traditional steakhouse. If you are looking for a place that won't completely destroy your wallet for a night out, this place lands somewhere in the middle ground. Not cheap, but not painfully expensive either. That said, the biggest issue for me was the steak itself. I ordered what was advertised as a filet, and honestly, I left questioning whether it truly was filet mignon. Anyone who regularly eats filet knows it is typically one of the leanest and most tender cuts of beef available. The steak I received was surprisingly fatty, with a texture and appearance that felt much more like a lower-grade sirloin or another less expensive cut. I understand that marbling can vary, and I'm not expecting perfection every single time, but this felt noticeably off from what should reasonably be expected when ordering a filet. To be clear, the steak was not terrible. It was edible, cooked reasonably close to the requested temperature, and had decent flavor overall. But when a restaurant advertises a premium cut of beef, customers naturally expect that cut to match the description. That disconnect between expectation and reality was the biggest disappointment of the night for me. It honestly felt more like a steakhouse serving "good enough" versions of premium items rather than truly delivering premium quality. The sushi was fine, though nothing especially memorable. Fresh enough, decent presentation, and about what you would expect from a restaurant trying to balance both steakhouse and sushi menus under one roof. No major complaints there, but also nothing that would specifically make me return for the sushi alone. At the end of the day, this place falls into the category of "solid but forgettable." If you go in expecting a casual steak and sushi dinner with decent service and fair pricing, you will probably leave satisfied enough. But if you are specifically going for a high-end steak experience or expecting true steakhouse-quality filet mignon, you may end up disappointed like I was. Would I come back? Maybe, but I'd probably try something different on the menu next time instead of ordering the filet again.

Came across the blue flame (not to be confused with the blue flame in East Wenatchee which seemed more like a teriyaki joint and was horrible!). Kind of a hole in the wall location (looks like an old tavern or something). Staff was very friendly! The steamed gyoza was delicate and delicious! We also enjoyed the honey walnut prawns and sweet and sour chicken- tender, juicy and full of flavor! The fried rice was a complete bust for me- hubby said it was just ok. Also sampled some nigiri which was Devine. The fish was good quality and melted in your mouth. Wouldn't say the portions are huge or anything (but prices are very affordable)- didn't come home with any leftovers besides the fried rice lol But we will definitely be back!!!! Update: we've been in many times now and it's always great- hands down our favorite restaurant in the area! We love the staff, they are all so sweet and enthusiastic! The Nigiri may quite possibly be the BEST I've ever had and I'm kind of a sushi snob. Nice pieces of fish on the perfect amount of rice (not too much!). The spicy edamame is a fan favorite as well! Sad to be heading home to the west side soon, we will definitely miss this place- until next time!

When I quietly brought the issue up to management, the server really didn't seem to care. Buyer beware. Please see the article release below. This is not the first time they have had fairly significant health safety violations. MOSES LAKE - A recent food safety inspection at Sumo Hibachi & Sushi in Moses Lake resulted in a score of 76, with multiple violations noted by inspectors from the Grant County Health District. The routine inspection, conducted April 15, 2026, identified several food safety concerns, including improper cooling procedures and temperature control issues that inspectors said could increase the risk of foodborne illness. Among the most serious violations, inspectors observed prepackaged noodles at 90 degrees stored in a walk-in cooler after being heat-treated but still sealed in packaging, preventing proper cooling. The report notes this "creates conditions favorable for the growth of harmful pathogens," and the noodles were voluntarily discarded during the inspection. Inspectors also found cooked eel being stored at room temperature--approximately 70 degrees--instead of being held at safe cold temperatures of 41 degrees or below. The report warned that improper storage of time/temperature control for safety (TCS) foods can lead to rapid bacterial growth and potential foodborne illness. Additional violations included missing date markings on salmon and beef removed from original packaging, incomplete parasite destruction records for certain fish, and improper storage of utensils, including tongs submerged in food. Staffing and certification issues were also noted. Following a change in management, inspectors found no employee with a certified food protection manager credential, which is required. In addition, one worker was found to have an invalid food worker card. According to the inspection report, several issues were corrected on-site, including the disposal of unsafe food and proper storage of utensils. Other violations were given correction deadlines, and a follow-up inspection has been scheduled for May 5, 2026. The health district emphasized proper cooling procedures in its report, stating that cooked foods must be cooled from 135 degrees to 70 degrees within two hours and then to 41 degrees or below within a total of six hours to prevent bacterial growth. Inspection records show this is not the first time the establishment has faced issues. Previous routine inspections scored 65 in September 2025 and 45 in February 2025, with follow-up inspections conducted after each.
