I wanted to give this place a fair and balanced review because overall, the experience was decent, but there were definitely some things that stood out to me that future customers should probably know before going in. If I had to summarize the restaurant in one sentence, I'd say it's a perfectly acceptable steak and sushi house with good service and fair prices, but the quality of the food didn't fully live up to the way it was presented or advertised. First, I want to give credit where it's due. The staff was genuinely friendly throughout the evening. From the moment we walked in, everyone was welcoming, attentive, and professional. Drinks were refilled consistently, food came out at a reasonable pace, and the servers checked in enough to make sure things were going well without becoming intrusive. In today's world, good customer service feels harder and harder to find, so I absolutely appreciated the effort the staff put into making the experience pleasant. The atmosphere was also about what you would expect from a modern steak and sushi restaurant. It had a nice energy to it, clean dining areas, decent lighting, and a casual upscale vibe that worked well for a dinner out. Pricing was another positive. Compared to many steak houses today, the menu prices felt relatively reasonable. Nothing seemed outrageously overpriced, especially considering they also offer sushi and a broader menu than a traditional steakhouse. If you are looking for a place that won't completely destroy your wallet for a night out, this place lands somewhere in the middle ground. Not cheap, but not painfully expensive either. That said, the biggest issue for me was the steak itself. I ordered what was advertised as a filet, and honestly, I left questioning whether it truly was filet mignon. Anyone who regularly eats filet knows it is typically one of the leanest and most tender cuts of beef available. The steak I received was surprisingly fatty, with a texture and appearance that felt much more like a lower-grade sirloin or another less expensive cut. I understand that marbling can vary, and I'm not expecting perfection every single time, but this felt noticeably off from what should reasonably be expected when ordering a filet. To be clear, the steak was not terrible. It was edible, cooked reasonably close to the requested temperature, and had decent flavor overall. But when a restaurant advertises a premium cut of beef, customers naturally expect that cut to match the description. That disconnect between expectation and reality was the biggest disappointment of the night for me. It honestly felt more like a steakhouse serving "good enough" versions of premium items rather than truly delivering premium quality. The sushi was fine, though nothing especially memorable. Fresh enough, decent presentation, and about what you would expect from a restaurant trying to balance both steakhouse and sushi menus under one roof. No major complaints there, but also nothing that would specifically make me return for the sushi alone. At the end of the day, this place falls into the category of "solid but forgettable." If you go in expecting a casual steak and sushi dinner with decent service and fair pricing, you will probably leave satisfied enough. But if you are specifically going for a high-end steak experience or expecting true steakhouse-quality filet mignon, you may end up disappointed like I was. Would I come back? Maybe, but I'd probably try something different on the menu next time instead of ordering the filet again. read more

I just moved to Wenatchee and this is the first restaurant I got to try and wow it didn't disappoint! The sushi rolls are so good, and a pretty nice size I must mention. My favorite is the Madison roll 9/10! We also ordered the Crepe Cake and it was pretty good, although I kind of expected it to be softer maybe 7/10. The service wasn't the best, which is a shame because our server was so nice but not as attentive as we would have liked. Overall I recommend! read more

Great sushi place, location is not the best. Been here couple times on for hibachi and one just dine in order. I've enjoyed dine in made to order better than hibachi I don't really think you get that much food for the price of hibachi so I guess you're paying for the show not the actual food. My boys (7&10 yo's) tried sushi for the first time and the person on the phone was very nice and helped me choose good dishes for them to try as first time sushi experience, cooked dishes. Food and service were good but the sushi chiefs and one other waiter shouting at each other in what was quite obviously a political argument is NOT what one wants when going out to dine. It was intrusive. And, it went on and on! When I mentioned to the staff at the door when I left I was greeted with a ha ha ha, and; "That is just how they talk!" I came here to get sushi and to be honest, I was a bit disappointed in the quality. We got a variety in sushi, as one of them was deep fried. What I noticed with it was that the sushi rice was soggy due to it being deep fried. I've had a lot of different deep fried sushi's from other places and I've never had that issue. Not only that, but the sushi rice i beleive was over done because all the sushi had soggy rice but the deep fried one was worse. We also got fried green tea icecream and it was delicious so that was great. And the service was good as well, our server was very kind and attentive. To be honest the hibachi was alright needed chili oil or mover flavor for us personally . Also my chicken katsu was okay. The steamed rice that comes with it was literally undercooked and hard pieces of white rice. Like how do you mess up steamed rice? Also service was slow and we didn't get checked in on enough. We had to flag someone down to ask for a replacement rice etc. By the time I even got it my chicken katsu was already cold and it had been a while... We got takeout, so I can't speak to the dine-in experience, BUT I have to rave about the gyoza. Gyoza is one of my favorite foods, and this was genuinely one of the best I've ever had, easily in my top two of all time. Absolutely incredible. I had the pork gyoza, they're on the smaller side compared to the oversized ones you see everywhere now, I liked it better. It felt intentional and well-balanced. They didn't have that trapped moisture you often get, which can make the texture weird, but tough to avoid usually. These were perfectly crisped, steamed, and juicy without being soggy or greasy all at the same time. I also tend to get the ick with pork, it sometimes has a gummy texture that sends me into oblivion, not these! The filling was tender, flavorful, and smooth. It was a beautiful experience. If you're looking to make a meal out of it, I'd suggest getting more than one order, since the portion is exactly side-sized. But I highly, highly recommend it. I live four hours away and I had a crisis when I couldn't get it for pre-breakfast before heading home, and I know I'll be mourning the fact that I can't just pop down the street for more. read more

While in Wenatchee I was looking for a nice taste of sashimi. And I found it at Sumo's. It looks rather unassuming from the outside but it's quite nice inside. Once I entered the establishment I was seated very quickly. I ordered a pot of green tea and found an appetizer and side of New York strip that suited my needs for dinner. The sashimi was more than acceptable and the steak was tender and juicy; all well prepared. The meal hit the spot. The service is efficient and friendly. We went here twice: once we sat in and the other to go. Our in restaurant experience was very good. Staff was friendly and efficient. We had bento boxes at lunch and they were excellent. Our second time, we ordered online to pickup. We followed the online instructions and selected based on what the app told us to. When we went to pick up our order, an older woman staff interrupted the person, told us that we were not supposed to get something so had to choose. The older woman was just rude. We understand that the online app might have been incorrect, but it was the way it was handled. We haven't been back since. Hopefully, it was a one-time thing. read more

5 years ago, a reviewer claimed he was greeted in Japanese. Well, the sushi chefs and others were chatting in Mandarin, and I didn't hear a word of Japanese inside. I ordered the chef's special roll, which was deep fried and tasty, and the ninja roll which had a decent amount of fish. The menu is quite Americanized with cream cheese rolls, spicy sauce and fried items. The hibachi section requires reservations, so I missed that. And little else on the menu appealed to me. My server was AWOL, but another took my order. They do have a robot to carry plates part way across the room, but it appears to be a gimmick. The restaurant is clean and somewhat stylish, but not Japanese, despite the name and advertising. read more

I ordered the one perdón combo plate which came with miso soup, tuna salad, sashimi and sushi roll. The soy bean wrap chief special was pretty good, texture is interesting with the light soy bean wrap. Sashimi pieces are thick and fresh. The chicken karaage is also pretty good, not a big fan of the top fried coat but the chicken is tender inside, so not much to compliant there. The service however ruin the experience a little bit. We waited almost 15 minutes to have a waitress talking to us. And waited almost 10 mins to see someone we can talk to for check. Overall, decent food and decent environment. I had really bad stomachache the next day though, not sure if it's because of the food or something else. read more

Sushi was great and so were the appetizers. Service was really slow but that could be because they stuffed the hibachi tables so full no one could move around and people were sitting on corners. The food honestly was the worst hibachi I've ever had and I frequent hibachi grills often. It wasn't seasoned, the fried rice was closer to the appearance of steamed rice. There wasn't any seasoning. The chef was nice but he seemed more focus on being a show person than a chef. While cooking we watched the raw chicken touch the raw shrimp while my raw scallops sat almost on top of the cooked steak. We decided to play it safe and just not eat any of the meat so that our children didn't possibly get sick. It was a really unfortunate experience because we really wanted to love this place. read more

Yummy. Specially when you hit HH and score a great meal for cheap. They have beer and sake on HH menu. Wine is regular priced. Rolls are between 4.95-5.95 on HH. Specialty rolls around $10-11 even on HH. The service was efficient and friendly. The place was nice and clean. I had an excellent meal and I will definitely return. I forgot to ask to top my rolls with jalapeños. I usually like the spice but even without it the rolls were delicious. The spicy salmon was hands out my favorite. Don't wait go check it out.
