Hubby's been working out of Wenatchee for several months now and we've been looking for a decent Chinese restaurant.... Came across the blue flame (not to be confused with the blue flame in East Wenatchee which seemed more like a teriyaki joint and was horrible!). Kind of a hole in the wall location (looks like an old tavern or something). Staff was very friendly! The steamed gyoza was delicate and delicious! We also enjoyed the honey walnut prawns and sweet and sour chicken- tender, juicy and full of flavor! The fried rice was a complete bust for me- hubby said it was just ok. Also sampled some nigiri which was Devine. The fish was good quality and melted in your mouth. Wouldn't say the portions are huge or anything (but prices are very affordable)- didn't come home with any leftovers besides the fried rice lol But we will definitely be back!!!! Update: we've been in many times now and it's always great- hands down our favorite restaurant in the area! We love the staff, they are all so sweet and enthusiastic! The Nigiri may quite possibly be the BEST I've ever had and I'm kind of a sushi snob. Nice pieces of fish on the perfect amount of rice (not too much!). The spicy edamame is a fan favorite as well! Sad to be heading home to the west side soon, we will definitely miss this place- until next time! read more

I am a lifetime lover of hot and sour soup, I have never had so many mushrooms etc. in my soup. A cup almost fills me up, and I sometimes think about that alone. I ordered the fried calamari ($8.95) and the chicken wings ($8.95) for appetizers. The wings were 1/2 raw before I realized that they were (about 5 wings I think). I told the waitress and she sent them back only to be brought back with more sauce. Yes, the same wings with more sauce. The calamari breading was white. I'm gonna go with undercooked. Then I ordered the Japanese ramen, it was bland and watered down. No flavor or consistency in the liquid. I don't even eat it. My wife ordered the shrimp fried rice. I don't think it had more than 3 baby shrimp.... I don't even finish my beer before it was time for me to walk out. $53.18 down the drain and a ruined dinner. Don't waste your time. Go to the Mexican restaurant with the wrestling masks. They are better. read more

Since it is in in the middle of some small town cashmere... it is still good to have an asian option here than nothing at all. However their menu is really tiny. The restaurant is clean and is right on the road so easy to spot. But that's about it. Food is decent. The server who attended me could not speak English well and it took me 5 mins to explain to her that I wanted fried rice with just chicken, eggs, onions and tomatoes and nothing else. read more

This place was reccomended to my mom because they have sushi, so we stopped by today for dinner. They only serve sushi on Frodays and Saturdays. Bummer. So instead we orderes the shrimp tempura and crab wontons for appetizers and the seafood delight dish. The crab wontons were amazing, the shrimp tempura was alright. The seafood delight was not that great at all, the wine sauce was very bland, the crab was super rubbery and didnt even seem edible, the scallops were extremely rubbery as well. The calamari and shrimp were alright. The meal itself seemed like it came from a bag. The dishes looked dirty, half of the tables in the establishment werent wiped down, and looking through the door and the window into the kitchen, it looked dirty in there as well. Definitely will not be going back. read more

I moved to the area last year and have been on the hunt for a solid Asian restaurant since. Behold! Blue Flame is the chosen one! I ordered the vegetarian Japanese Yakisoba noods and the hot chicken wings and I cannot express the peace in my soul after my first few bites. The flavor was all there and, best of all, the food didn't leave me feeling sluggish afterwards. The portions are worth what you pay for. The reason why I only gave them 4 stars is due to: no music in the restaurant so the ambiance was lacking and their to-go containers are styrofoam aka not eco-friendly. Will be back again! read more

This is a new location in Cashmere. If you look it up on Garmin, it will take you to the old location. We found the food and service excellent. They are very good about tailoring the dishes to suit your taste. Extra green peppers, no problem. I asked for the dish to be spicy and it was still pretty bland for my taste. I'm always amazed that small towns praise restaurants like this that wouldn't last a day in a bigger city solely because of poor quality. Myself and a few family members came in for lunch on a weekday and were sorely disappointed at both the customer service and food quality. The waitress who sat us wasn't out right rude, but it was very evident that we were keeping her from doing nothing. She was short, un-friendly and sat at the bar filing her nails as we ate. Super unprofessional. The food was pretty bad. Each of us ordered something different and it tasted like all the sauces came out of bottles you buy at the grocery store. All of the entrees had a funny taste, the meat was rubbery and the chicken in my Kung Pao tasted freezer burnt. I was really unimpressed. I definitely won't be back, and I hope they either up their game on quality or let someone who cares about their food move in here. read more

I've been seeing reviews for this place and decided to venture out to Cashmere and check it out for myself. Upon entering through a cloud of blue smoke emanating from the lung-cancer-in-progress crowd who were standing mere feet from the front door, we found ourselves in a small dining room with approximately ten tables. There was a private dining room off to the side and stairs to the upstairs lounge. The ambience in the restaurant was simple, there was none. It actually reminded me of a pizza place with a few odd Asian ornaments hung here and there just to be able to say it had an Asian flare. Lol But, it was clean in the dining room, comfortable, and not too crowded. We decided to stick it out and order dinner. (Unlike the bathroom which was horrid and where I didn't dare stick anything out, lol) After our server answered a few questions about the menu we ordered potstickers as an appetizer and drinks. A group of six guys came in and demanded our servers attention. She did the best she could to accommodate but it flustered her to the point where she confused our order and gave it to them instead. When she realized what she had done she went back and retrieved it and brought it to our table. This is after it was sitting there for several minutes. The entire dining room was served by this single server and despite working hard and fast she was behind the curve the entire time we were there. We were reluctant to accept food that was served family style to another group so she had the kitchen refire both of our orders and comped us a drink, as well. It was an unfortunate situation and she handled it about as well as possible. My Kung Pao Chicken was adequate. Certainly nothing special or noteworthy. The chicken hot and sour soup, the metric I use to judge every Asian/Chinese restaurant I go to, was decent, and by most standards was good. I prefer a little more sour than most people but the soup was good, nonetheless. My wife's chicken fried rice was okay... Temperature was off and barely warm in places. Flavor was minimal. Overall, we left full and the ticket for the night was quite reasonable. However, the food was only adequate, at best. read more

Very tasty. I've had curries in various locations , this was really very flavorful and unique. The menu was a nice cross section of Asian,Thai and Chinese. It's in a small little hamlet so decor and ambience show that small town feel. Took my little one and she had great kids plate for $3.95. Curry was $8.50. I've always used how many little oriental kids are sitting at a corner table somewhere as a guideposts for "real and good". And yup, this place had a table like that. Odd decor and menu, but great prices and decent food. To this day I still do not understand why many Asian restaurants insist on using those textured plastic cups and cheap straws for water. Why oh why? How did this get into their head as a good idea? I mean, buy some cheap IKEA glasses or something. We chose this place based on good Yelp reviews and because the other places with good Yelp reviews did not have healthy options. Asian food generally does. What I don't understand is why they have such a variety of Asian food on the menu. I would think they would do better if they picked one or two themes instead of an entire hemisphere-worth of countries represented. No matter. The food was good, it came pretty fast and it was very reasonable. Our server was polite and walked faster than many of the clientele that night can probably run, so if you make a request, like chopsticks, they will be in your hands quickly. I had the Mongolian Beef with Rice and it was tasty and well proportioned. If you're looking for cheap eats and like Asian food from 30 different countries, this is the place for you in Cashmere. The final bill, including tax and tip was $25. We only drank water...in plastic water cups of course. :) read more
