Be careful ordering drinks there because they are my mom a drink and she told them it was way too strong and they told her they couldn't take it off her bill or remake it at all. A good meal served fast. The dining room is basic and a little small but the service was excellent, quick and courteous. The chips and queso were fine, a solid start. The enchilada dinner was great with plentiful amounts of chicken inside and a nice sour cream sauce. Rice lacked much flavor on its own but blended with the sauce and beans well. The food was just okay. Not bad but not really good either. The service was lacking. If you ran out of anything, you had to wait for the waitress to come out of hiding and sometimes ask twice. Tortillas are brought out with 1 for each person at the table so you then had to wait for more. No offer to refill drinks. Not a single dish was removed from our table until after we received our check so you had to work around empty salsa and queso bowls. read more

We admittedly arrived an hour before closing, but we walked into an empty restaurant with all staff seated waiting to close. They scurried to get us seats and menus, but they didn't hurry much after that which seemed not in their best interest if wanting to leave on time. I asked for the full setup which included corn tortillas and the vegetable relish. Then I ordered the chicken enchiladas with Elote and guac. I remembered why I usually don't order so much food because I tend to gorge on the setup. Trash service if you are a minority. The food is mediocre at best. The atmosphere needed an upgrade 10 years ago. The only update was to include a bar. The liquor and bartender are spot on, though. It's sad to see a once great local eatery fall to such a has been state. In the 90's Chelino's was synonymous with top of the line texmex dining in Oklahoma city. Now they struggle just to be average. A friend of mine loves the Grand blvd. And Walker location so occasionally we indulge him by meeting him there. First let me say the service there is superb. Fast, friendly, efficient. Everything you want in a wait staff. Now the bad. Queso dip like cool tapioca pudding, and thin over salted salsa are the starters. Nothing comes out really hot, and the beans & rice served standard with your entre the less said the better. I really hate giving this review because I grew up enjoying Chelino's but they didn't keep up with the competition. Tried giving this place the benefit of the doubt, but I would avoid this place at all cost. . I love nothing more than true, as close to authentic food as possible and this I THOUGHT was going to be it. . My wife and I were visiting OKC and wanted a bite to eat before we head back to Tulsa and when we stopped in the place was very "sticky" feeing. We sat down and were nicely greeted. When the hostess handed us our menu, the menus looked like they hadn't been cleaned in months. When I opened my menu, salsa was smudged inside and was quite gross. . My wife and I didn't want to eat anything TOO heavy, so we thought we might as well just much on some salsa and then split nice big veggie nachos and that should do us good for our trip home. . When I started to order, the older server told me that if that is all we decided to order that he would have to charge me an extra $4.....? I asked him why the extra charge and he said he people split food that they charge extra for it...I thought he was joking at first and had to confirm that's what he was really telling me. He told me I could order another meal, but I told him that we don't want another meal....We want the nachos....And he said okay that he was going to have to charge an extra $4 since it's company policy. He started to get snappy with me, so we decided to take our business elsewhere who we ordered the same thing with ZERO "extra charge." . This restaurant needs to really have a pow wow and get a better game plan for their business. If I could give 0 stars, is an understatement. We placed a to-go order last week. One of their EMPLOYEES HALF EATEN MEALS was placed in our to-go order. I arrived home and noticed the issue and immediately called and spoke to the female manager on duty. She apologizes and says our meal will be compensated whenever we come in. I call today to see if she's in and the male manager on duty asks why. I explain the issue and he tells me he couldn't replace the whole order since there was no issue with what we ordered. Definitely wouldn't recommend ordering to-go orders. read more

I grew up going to the different Chelino's around Oklahoma City and could probably swim in a pool filled with the amount of their cheese sauce I've eaten over the years. So saying Chelino's is "close to my heart" works on several levels. Unfortunately this one in Capitol Hill isn't one I'll be back to soon. We had FANTASTIC service. Seriously. It doesn't seem like that's ever been a problem, but the quality of the food this time wasn't that great. Our salsa seemed haphazardly thrown together but the the beans and rice were great. Our ground beef taco was nowhere near something I'd say came from cow and our chicken burrito was pretty short on the chicken. I have been a fan of Chelino's since they opened this location more years than I can remember. As far as I'm concerned, it's the only place to eat fajitas in OKC. I've eaten at 4 of the locations in OKC and am convinced that this one is the best. I know people who drive from Edmond to eat at this location. read more
