first time eating here was trying to try something new on date night. chips were good. salsa and queso weren't the best but we have had way worse. I got the fajita chicken street tacos with rice and beans. taco was good. beans were over cooked and burnt. my bf got the carne asada and was so over cooked and tough he couldn't even eat it. informed manager and he couldn't even tear the meat apart was so tough and the manager was even shocked. asked if it was our first time we told her no and she sincerely apologized but we won't be back. read more

They were the Curtis people they deals with all kinds of customers. Tolerable food, awful service. We were one of two tables in the entire restaurant tonight, party of 15. Our server sat in a booth on her phone 75% of the evening, every other employee standing around doing nothing. Drinks, chips, salsa, cheese sauce, tortillas were empty all night. Any refill we did actually get, we had to get up and go to the cashier (where 4 employees were standing doing nothing) and ask for it. Fajitas (7 orders I believe) came out at room temperature, near-raw onions and peppers. How in the world do fajitas come out cold??? One of my all time favorite places to eat on the south side of OKC. Very respectful waiters/waitresses and the food is always fresh and full of taste. Huge props to Cocino De Mino for the decor!! I absolutely love the interior. The walls are painted, they've got plants all over - and all in all just very vibrant. They give you free chips and salsa, as well as tortillas to go around. Their chips are alright, but those tortillas...were the absolute most softest, tortillas you'll ever have. Nice and warm in the little container, and even with just salsa and queso, was just the perfect little treat. Service here was alright - only bump we had was that the waitress accidentally switched the plates that was meant for my boyfriend and gave it to his dad. Which was fine, accidents happen. The food was pretty good too! I had the carne asada and the meat was cooked very well. It was served next to potatoes slathered in cheese, beans, guac, sour cream, and pico de gallo. The potatoes were a slight unusual pairing to carne asada, but it wasn't an unpleasant one for sure. Everyone else at the table had some enchiladas, which according to them was pretty great as well. The rice was cooked well, seasoned wonderfully, beans too! Only thing I'd comment on would just be the salsa which was a bit too watery. And the guac was I think just mashed avocado, with nothing else. However - everything else was good, we'll definitely be coming back! read more

We have been eating at Cocina de Mino for many years. Our first visit in the 1980s was in their old location off N. May Avenue (which later became Ted's). Since 2001, we tend to go to the location on South Western, including today. lunch specials are available until 4 PM. And their food is always so good! Call us happy customers! read more

We tried Cocina De Mino for the first time today. The location is easy to find, excellent parking availability. The restaurant was quite large and an open space, surprisingly quite!! I was very grateful, most restaurants these days are overwhelmingly loud. They were busy, but had plenty of servers and table runners. We were promptly served chips, salsa and queso along with the absolute best fresh made tortillas upon being seated. When I say the tortillas are the best, I'm not exaggerating, go, try them. Our meals were prepared and served very quickly, our waitress checked on us appropriately and the entire experience was delightful. read more

15-16 family members came on a late Saturday afternoon. They don't seat you until a majority of your party has arrived. I get it. We picked it because it has a large dining area we knew could accommodate us with out too long of a wait. We had one waitress for our table. Not sure if staff on the floor and in the kitchen didn't like her, but she got hardly any help from anyone else in the restaurant. Pretty sad. She got our drinks fine, was great at taking our orders, but getting refills on chips, salsa's and tortilla's was spotty at best. Niece said her chicken enchilada's with cheese sauce tasted like turkey. I had a shredded beef and bean burrito with chili. I loved the chili as it's more like Schwab's (IFKYK) without the grease. Not your typical tex-mex chili. I like the borracho beans, but the rice, meh. It was a less than pleasant experience. I believe she tried. They were not busy and staff was standing around. I saw a couple of staff help her deliver the trays of food, but they just set them on the stand and left. Don't think I'll be suggesting it for large family/friends meals. I read in the paper that this is the most authentic Mexican food in okc. Well if this is authentic I don't want it. We was not impressed. And there was a strange smell. Not sure what it was. This is the worst mexican food in Oklahoma. Horrible service, takes forever. The food is disgusting and needs to be investigated by the health department. Multiple children under the age of 13 are working there, running around in complete chaos. The soup had no broth, just fatty chicken in a couple teaspoons of broth. Enchiladas are disgusting. People are in the kitchen doing drugs and passing it back and forth in plain site. The tamale tasted of chocolate and cinnamon, like some child had their dirty hands in it. The people working there act like they have no clue what is happening. This is the worst place to eat in Oklahoma. I can't believe they are in business still. Horrible. Garbage food and service. If you go here expect to see people running inside because they have no clue what they are doing and expect to have children under the age of 13 helping you to your table and bringing your drinks. This place needs to be shut down. The health department and child services needs to be out there looking into this place. I asked two different waitress to check my order and either got back to me. After 45mins of waiting I decided I walk out without requesting a refund. I am very disappointed in their service today. I had my girlfriend with me and that was her first experience at this location . I'm writing this review in the hopes that the owner sees it and make some changes. Normally this place is great. I also woke up extremely sick the night of eating their food , as if I was experiencing food poisoning. The waitress brung our food out extremely fast like it had jus been sitting in the back waiting then she says " careful it's hot " knowing damn well it's not hot at all. We all just left this place because everyone looked like they were in a bad mood. The hostess with black and blonde long ponytail was the rudest. She was hateful. Didn't smile. Didn't greet us. Had a lunch today but got the biggest baddest dinner and not a lunch special, which are great for the price. My soft corn tortillas were hot and with the nice pats of butter and red sauce made them totally enjoyable. I got the complete come with your meal items. The cheese sauce was excellent, the fried jalapenos were hot and hot (temperature), and the green hotter sauce was also delectable. I had the pork tamale, the sour cream enchilada, the cheese enchilada, with rice and re fried beans. It was delicious. With a beef taco and a dab of guacamole, I was in Tex-Mex heaven. The guacamole was as fresh and tasty as I have ever had. Cold iced tea was spot on and the chips (had to delve into the second basket) were crispy, light, and as expected, totally fresh and warm. The waitress was ever there, filling my iced tea and bringing me anything I needed. I am not an easy customer with my demands on my food. I asked for my plate to be sizzling hot as I cannot stand luke warm Tex-Mex. I twas blistering hot. I was even asked if I wanted to take an iced tea with me and I did. My order included a lunch meal for my wife, sour cream enchiladas with rice and re fried beans. She enjoyed her favorite sour cream enchiladas. I have no problem in telling you that for Tex-Mex, this place is one of the best in the country. It is exceptionally great food served the correct way and in a clean environment. Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me several times, I'm just an idiot. It had been 2 years. We thought maybe things had gotten better. Nope. Actually. The service is still bad, but now the food is gross, too. I ordered a chicken taco salad, which I have always loved there. But then I got my salad, and it tasted REALLY off. I started forking through it, and apparently they have quit using well flavored chicken breast, and are now using watery, nasty dark meat chicken (I hope it's chicken). I took pics of some of the stuff I pulled out. I think the really dark piece is actually organ meat. My husband ordered chicken flautas, and they were also full of nasty dark meat. Still the best place for enchiladas. The chicken and spinach are so good! They even have a enchilada special on Wednesdays for $6.99. Definitely try them out. Reminds me of the old Tulio's and Nino's enchiladas. So if you like that old school taste of your childhood in 80's and 90's for enchiladas in OKC, go get some from here.
