Trust me, Turkey is where it's at

Service is phenomenal as usual, food was great. Our server Stephanie served us well today. Go grab you some breakfast or brunch!

Clean, Great Tasting and Cheap Kristina's has all of the usual diner perks like forever flowing diner coffee in those iconic brown diner mugs. There's that awesome mix of Clevelanders in and out of here. A great diverse mix of black, white and hispanics from what looks to be all spectrums of backgrounds (these are just broad statements to further the point of how diverse the crowd is). This is a great Cleveland diner, period. The place is tucked away on Lorain Ave. with ample street parking. When you walk in Kristina's you're greeted with a friendly hello and instructed to sit anywhere you want. The diner is a mix of traditional 4 man booths and large tables that can fit at least 6-8 hungry Clevelanders. The biggest thing I noticed in comparison to a lot of affordable "greasy spoon" diners is how clean and put together Kristina's is. There's signs and knick knacks with different pictures of superheroes and actors along the walls. The furniture has charm but is not run down. Too many times I walk into diners that have broken booths with holes and springs popping through them. But Kristina's is a great example of how it should be done. Now to the food! The food on the menu doesn't stray from your usual diner specials like omelettes and home fries, pancakes and French toast and any combination in between. I can say there biscuits and sausage gravy are a step up than most diners that usually use a crappy powder mixture. Overall it's fresh diner food that is not caked with butter and oil. One thing to note is they don't mind you asking to hold the mushrooms or other ingredients you may not want in your dish. Top of the list for a great cheap breakfast

Chicken and rice soup that came with the lunch.

The look of this place reminds me of the restaurant Patsy's Pies on the Showtime series Shameless! It's only open for breakfast and lunch, but what makes Kristina's cool is that you can get a meal and drink for around $7 + tip. You can get a solid breakfast for about a dollar or so less. I used to live in this neighborhood and still work in the area, so I try to hit this place up from time to time. Today I had the patty melt which comes with fries and a cup of soup (soup of the day was chicken and rice) washed it down with a can of Diet Pepsi. It's your typical greasy spoon diner in the City. Good prices and decent food. Probably why its been open for as long as I can remember.

Having a meal with Chef Mario and his team, on a recent weekend, has been a culinary highlight of…read more2025 (for us) in the greater Cleveland area! Tucked in the penthouse floor of a nondescript office building near the outdoor Fairview Mall complex...you navigate your way up the old, rickety elevator and around a couple of awkward corners to emerge in the kitchen of Mario's eclectic yet homey space. Getting a dinner reservation here is no easy task. It typically involves a series of text messages where you can determine when his schedule might allow for an opening for your party. Don't get discouraged as he's a very popular guy so it may be several months before you can find an open slot that meets your needs, but believe me...it is worth the wait! Pre-reservation (by a few days) you'll receive word of his chosen menu options during your visit where you'll be able to select from a variety of salad and soup options and then each guest may also choose their main dish from a variety that was larger than I'd expected for such a small operation. With seating for maybe 20 guests, when you arrive Chef Mario will greet you personally and then places you at one of his dining tables and the adventure begins! Drink orders are taken (only one red and one white wine option will be available), but feel free to bring your own spirits, wine, etc. As the meal began (and progressed), course after course of small bite plates are brought forward with a variety of tastes, textures, combinations and wild flavor mashups. I'm not going to recount each one, but every dish was truly unique and memorable. Interspersed with these "chef's choice" courses came our soup / salad choices and later in the meal our main dishes. My wife loved here burrata salad as well as her black squid ink pasta with lobster. I adored my seafood bisque and filet mignon cabernet. By the time the dessert courses arrived (yes, there was more than one!) it was getting hard to finish the dishes, but we soldiered on! In total, I think we were served nine or ten separate courses (many of which are small plate / bite style) with wine continuously flowing across this price fixe meal. It was a glorious feast in a very intimate atmosphere where you WILL get to know your table neighbors by the nature of of space layout and his intentions for communal meals. Run (don't walk) to make a reservation for this incredibly unique dining experience before Chef Mario decides to call it quits. We cannot wait for our next adventure there!

I can see my wife and our families returning many, many times.

While still served with tart cherries, the crispy breading was perfect. Kale salad was seasonal and all the components melded well, from the tart fruit to the light vinaigrette The highlight was the black cod, which was buttery soft and only further enhanced by the smooth beurre Blanc. Fascinating space. I looked it up. It used to be retail when it was built in the 30s, and then it was renovated in the 60s and now it looks like they took all three storefronts for the restaurant. I was sitting there admiring the Cherrywood floor and thinking what used to be here. That display window I wonder if it was a little department store. They were very busy, the bartender was working it! Nice guy. Outside was packed. That's where I wanted to sit, but I sat in the dining room. The Lamb burger was excellent, handcrafted almost like a lamb meatloaf but very firm like a burger. It was great. My brother had the pasta and he loved it. But yesterday my wife and I decided to get involved with the festivities in Gorden Square/Battery Park. So on a brisk but sunny day we drove down to Battery Park in Cleveland and visited "All Saints Public House" for a tall glass of Guinness and a dish of Cabbage and Noodles topped with a Bratwurst. The Battery Park area is a wonderful part of town and a fun place to visit. "All Saints" is a great ethnic bar/restaurant. It's dark, moody, warm, full of awesome people, and just a great place to be. The lady and gentleman that waited on us were really great and made us feel right at home. We sat and talked and watched "Gone with the Wind", drank a wonderfully satisfying Guinness (on tap), and ate some of the best Cabbage and Noodles I've ever had, with an excellent Bratwurst on top. Turns out, Dyngus Day is a load of fun... and I'm still not sure what it is?

It was busy without seeming crowded. The space was spacious, well decorated, unique and made good use of space. The bathrooms downstairs were artsy and in good taste! Menu was kind of limited but I have a feeling they try new things all the time so it was exciting to pick from. Too bad they ran out of some things when we went. I ordered the fried chicken dish which was fried to perfection, well seasoned and paired interestingly with pickled veggies. The portion was tiny but on par with something I would expect in a place like this. I also ordered 2 oysters for $9 which were the tiniest oysters I've ever seen. Sure, they were good but I would not get them again. My girlfriend ordered a canned non-alcoholic drink for $6 (way too expensive for a soda!) and the brussell sprouts. They were good but there was only 4 of them! Our server gave off a "I'm too cool for this gig" and dismissed my order when I asked for the chicken. He recommended the lamb which uh, was almost 3x as expensive as the chicken and not something I wanted as a light late dinner after a show... My friend's SIL worked here so she was warm, welcoming and gave us a great seat. So yeah, it's not the best restaurant in Cleveland or anything but there is something to the hype and if I do get the chance, the brunch looks amazing!

First, the "manager" would not allow us to put the umbrellas down at our table of 7 after the sun had gone down, ok no big deal... but here is where it went down the hill. We ordered (2) Spinach Artichoke Dip appetizers and this was nothing more than cold spinach & artichoke soup that should have been introduced to an oven or at the very least... a microwave. We ordered 7 dinners ranging from Broiled Salmon, Pasta Alfredo, Chicken Piccata and New York Strip. Four of our meals were served and then 2 of our meals were served 20 minutes later and the last meal was served 10 minutes after that. I always try to be considerate especially during these times of staff shortages, supply chain issues, etc., but this server just didn't know the menu and I just didn't feel that the manager was very accommodating with the seating. I am not giving them a lower rating because the Salmon and NY Strip was actually pretty good and they did make an adjustment on my guest check. However, I would prefer to have a good experience and pay full price. I believe that this restaurant has what it takes to be a much better venue, however, it will be a long time before I try this restaurant again. There are so many other fine dining options in Wyandotte to settle for average or below average.
