Life-long Chelsea resident and I just discovered Chelsea Royal Care in the past year. Definitely my loss!!! This is the poster child for small, family run neighborhood business! They are super efficient, caring and accommodating and I will never go anywhere else! Do yourself a favor and divorce yourself from the big box CVS, Walgreen's and Rite-Aids where you are just a number (and sometimes not even that) and call/visit Chelsea Royal Care. Closed when they say they are open - without warning. Pharmacist in whenever he wants. I have never reviewed anything, ever, but I want people to know this is an unreliable place to have your prescriptions filled. It's the worst feeling to run out and know that you aren't able to get a refill because they don't show up during the hours listed on the door! read more

Very nice and helpful. Has a wonderful neighborhood feel. Unlike chain pharmacies, they answer the phone without putting you on hold for 30 mins. One con though, they don't follow their business hours and will occasionally open hours late or close hours early. So if dependability is a priority for you, this isn't the pharmacy for you. read more

I went to Chelsea Royal Care Pharmacy for the first time, and I am not exaggerating when I say they saved the day. I have been on a particular medication for several years, and when I recently moved to NYC it became evident it was difficult to find here. I spent all of last week dealing with a different highly rated NYC pharmacy (The modern chemist, a Brooklyn chain), only to have that other pharmacy drop to ball every step of the way - which made me very sick very fast. I thought it would be another week before I got my medication - but Chelsea Royal Care Pharmacy was able to order my medication and get it in store in under 24 hours! It was wonderful. I immediately asked them to transfer the rest of my medication over. If it wasn't for Chelsea Royal Care I would have been sick in bed indefinitely. These guys are fantastic - they offered a huge discount in order to get my business (if you don't have a coupon, just ASK for a discount over the big drug stores, and they'll prob give it to you - or might even offer you a break if you don't ask for one). Plus they deliver very promptly AND turn and walk away after handing you the package to (it seemed to me), make it clear they don't expect a tip for delivery... I imagine cuz they're the owners? Anyhow, I'm a huge fan and recommend them to everyone in the neighborhood, and the only reason I didn't get them 5 stars is cuz they close at 7pm, and thus I sometimes need to go to the big stores if me or my child need something filled after an evening doc appt. Too, they're not open very early, so I can't go before work, either. Clone yourselves, guys, so you can be open til 10pm! :) P.S. in the end, I changed this to five stars, cuz they seem to be doing absolutely their best and deserve it. After 5 years of searching for a good pharmacy in the city, I was ready to admit defeat and come to terms with the fact that trying to find a good pharmacist is like trying to find a $4 umbrella that doesn't break within the first 10 minutes after purchasing it. When you really think about it, there isn't much of a difference between pharmacies and the $4 umbrella stands that pop up out of nowhere the second there is a drop of rain. Both are on everyone corner (Duane Reade, CVS, Rite Aid, etc), both have terrible customer service (but don't care because they know you need the item regardless of their attitude), and finally, both leave thinking how next time things will be different; "Next time I'll remember to check the weather, and be prepared with a nice umbrella." Or, "Next time it's raining and I'm in Times Square, I'll remember to look up from my iPhone and won't get poked in the eye by 45 tourists' broken $4 umbrellas." Or, "Next time I'll remember to wear that helmet on my CitiBike and I'll never have to deal with Duane Reade pharmacy again." Lucky for me, those years of searching paid off. From the moment I stumbled upon Chelsea Royal Care, I knew I had finally found the perfect pharmacy. As cliche as you may think this sounds, if you are anything like me and frequent the pharmacist on a regular basis, CRC is your hidden gem. Alex is hands down one of the best pharmacists I have ever worked with. Not only is he genuinely a good person, always asking how I am, about my family, etc, but he also knows his stuff inside and out. He goes above and beyond to help you out...and if you sit down for 5 minutes in his store you'll see how many people from the neighborhood pop in and out just to chat. Moreover, regardless of how busy things are at the store, Alex always takes care of you right on the spot. I've been using Chelsea Royal Care for over 1 -1/2 years now, and I will never use any other pharmacy as long as I'm in NYC. I'm moving out of the neighborhood this month, and Alex said they will still deliver my medicine free of charge...all of the way to Avenue B! Is that service or what? read more

I dislike chains of all kinds - I mean come on, I am an elite yelper. I think you have to hate chains to be this into yelp. I especially hate chain drugstores. They are such a ripoff and they mess everything up and take forever to get prescriptions. And I just do not enjoy going to them. So when I needed to pick up a prescription, I searched for a non-chain and found Chelsea Royal Care Pharmacy. It's not in my neighborhood but I'd go out of my way to come back - they're so nice, courteous, and filled my prescription in like 20 seconds. It seemed like everyone else who came in had a nice relationship with the guys working there, so that was cool to see too. Dudes. You should come here. read more

The world, especially New York City, needs more independently owned, family-style businesses like this one. Every time I visit or call, I am reminded of a small-town community where everyone knows each other. The owner is delightful, friendly, and always greets me by name. The prices are beyond competitive -- they are lower than national chains (even after factoring in coupons) without exception. Plus, they deliver day-of at no charge. I am grateful and awed by the care I was given by Alek, the owner and supervising pharmacist. On a recent visit I suffered a terrible fall on 19th ST between 9th and 10th Avenues. My knees were bruised and bloodied and I was shaken. One of Alek's customers stopped to help and recommended I go to his pharmacy to get the materials to clean and bandage my wounds. I did. But I am squeamish and knew that I'd stop cleaning if it stung. Here is the point that I have been sharing with everyone: Alek got all the materials from different parts of his store and he personally cleaned and bandaged my knees! Really....from what "big box" Pharmacy would you ever expect that kind of care??? NONE. His compassion, concern, kindness and professionalism were what this very shaken, scared person needed. I came here to get something notarized. He said he was certified in the county of New York, which was what I needed because I needed to then take the document to the county clerk and get it authenticated. However, when I took it there, they told me that they did not have his signature on file and I would have to go to Queens county (where he is ACTUALLY certified) to get it authenticated. Of course I am not going to go all the way to Queens so I had to print out a new document and get it notarized somewhere else. read more

I avoid going to a chain pharmacy whenever possible (CVS, Duane Reade, you name it). Chelsea Royal Care is a great example of why. They really go the extra mile here -- the service is personal and extremely conscientious. And they deliver! Alex and his assistants, are fast and already know what you need before reaching the counter. They deliver, and come back if you weren't available the first time. They as well call, and keep you alert of their arrival. They are extremely knowledgable, very fairly priced, and make friendships with their customers. Chelsea Royal Care Pharmacy is the only non-chain pharmacy I've ever experienced where exceptional, unmatched customer service meets most affordable pricing & truly knowledgeable & caring staff! I was apprehensive to switch pharmacies at first... It has always been highly difficult to find one pharmacy that meets all my highly specified needs... Most pharmacies never carry all my medications. They went above & beyond to ensure me that I had chosen the most reliable pharmacological medical team around... In the past I have travelled ALL over Manhattan from west to east side & back just to never have luck finding a pharmacy that would be able to fill my medications for me! From the first time i walked into Chelsea Royal Care , I actually felt as if I was being treated like royalty. I can honestly say there is nobody else who cares more about his & their customers as much as Aleks, Julio & everyone else on staff...
