Keto taco - toasted/grilled cheese instead of a regular tortilla - needed to be done a little more on one side as the cheese wasn't quite toasty enough to stay in place to slightly resemble the shape of a taco. Bit hard to eat, covered my hands in grease. Asada tastes almost boiled, and this being my 2nd or 3rd time getting the Asada here, it consistently tastes like it was boiled and not grilled. Unsure of meat quality or preparation, but there are no grill marks and it's a bit chewy. Same with the al pastor. Tripa taco was bizarre. Strips of flat skin instead of the usual roundish, cylindrical shape of tripa (intestine). Usually a saltier, fattier meat than asada, which is my preference but the one here was lacking in flavor and the texture threw me off a bit. Tripa can be chewy - unless requested extra done, which is how I normally order it - but there was no saving this tripa. I think it needs to be sliced differently, the cuts made it inedible. Brother shared some of his chorizo taco and it was the better of the bunch. Red chorizo, TJ style, although it was also lacking a teeny bit in flavor... onions and cilantro to the rescue! Still, mediocre. Salsas were ok, nothing out of the ordinary. Don't think the tortillas were homemade. Service was fine, cashier takes your order, dude at the counter was chill and had a friendly attitude. Seating was limited. Mostly bar style seating but the majority was in front of a window and it had so much heat trapped from the glass that it was kind of uncomfortable. Other seats are too close to the bathroom. Good for a quick bite or just pick-up orders. Wouldn't plan a sit down/dine-in visit. Parking is scarce and has really small spots, wouldn't come if you're driving a pick-up truck or anything like that. Food was reasonably priced, which is good, however; the food was lacking so I would not return.

With a bar to the right and a laudermat on its left finding a parking spot is like winning the lotto. Now layer in one driveway and you have to make a 3 point turn just to navigate to leave. The short answer is I will absolutely go back to this place as long as there is a parking space to be had.

The Whittier location is tucked away off Mulberry and La Mirada Blvd. I was greeted by the friendly staff and aroma of assorted meats and cilantro and onion. The carne asada is some of the best in the taco game: tender and flavorful. In a taco or burrito you cannot miss with the carne asada. I also ordered carnitas which were full of flavor and paired nicely with their tangy salsa verde. The horchata was refreshing and ice cold with hints of rice and spice that was more than nice. Taqueria De Anda, muchas gracias! I'll be back soon.

Tacos, Only Tacos, Only Authentic Tacos. All of them are just plain right, be it cabesa, asada, or al pastor. These are what tacos were meant to be, nothing more, nothing less. And there even priced like a taco should be, one dollar. If only the parking lot wasn't so tiny and ridiculous. Although, I'll happily risk a car accident for these tacos. read more

They don't accept credit cards. I ordered different kind of tacos for my family, but some of them tasted really bad. When I spoke with the guy in charge he told me that the flavor of the tacos was right. This guy didn't invest money in the business the bathroom was terrible. I'll never return to this place again. read more

Bomb tacos! The tacos are del carbon style...of course getting carne asada is a must, but I highly recommend trying the al pastor. Delicious... And the horchata is better than average, also highly recommend. As of July 2010, the tacos were $1.10. Not too shabby... read more

I love Al Pastor tacos and Chema's were GREAT! Foe being a little whole in the wall joint, there tacos are some of the best I've tasted in Whittier. They may need a little work on the outside, but the food makes up for it. read more

For $17.50, I expected the meat to be the highlight, but instead the burrito was mostly rice and beans. The filling was also very soft and mushy overall. The arrachera itself was chopped into tiny, fatty pieces with very little flavor, and it got completely lost among the rice and beans. It didn't have the grilled, seasoned beef flavor I was expecting from a premium burrito. Maybe this is the new standard, or maybe California food costs are forcing restaurants to cut corners to keep prices where they are--I honestly don't know. But at $17.50, I expected a lot more meat and a lot more flavor. I don't mind paying premium prices for premium food, but this just didn't feel like a premium burrito. The fresh ingredients, fast service, and friendly staff were all appreciated, but the burrito itself didn't live up to the price or the reputation.
