The food was great and the coffee took me back to my grandmas style. Service was great and the ambiance is chill. Definitely recommend.

This is a great family owned Mexican restaurant with authentic food. Their potatoe tacos, beans and rice taste delicious! The nopales salad is great. The cucumber water is refreshing and not too sweet. Check out the Saturday Night Karaoke and Happy Hour flyers. We will come back.

We came to El Molcajete Loco for Sunday dinner and weren't disappointed. The staff were friendly, polite, and went over the menu with me, which was helpful since it was my first time eating here. Now let's talk about the heart and soul of El Molcajete Loco, the food. The menu boasts an array of authentic Mexican cuisine that transported my tastebuds to various levels. Each dish we ordered was a culinary masterpiece with a perfect blend of flavors and textures that showcases Management's commitment to quality and authenticity. In conclusion, El Molcajete Loco is a must when craving good food and this spot succeeded our expectations. We'll definitely be back!

Really wanted to give a 4 star review to this well maintained place cause staff really nice but can't get passed cold food. The chicken tacos were freshly made n hot but rice n beans were far from it. Enjoyed our meals but nothing memorable... people who like food not being overseasoned, this is for you. Chips fresh n tortillas good. First time here so if there is a 2nd visit may be different outcome.

Had a great experience here at El Molcajete Loco the other day. My dad was raving about the menudo they sell here and though it was a bit out of the way from where we live, it was definitely worth the drive. I just want to start off by saying that the workers here are really great. They greeted us warmly when we came in and let us sit down where we pleased. They told us what they had on the menu and what dishes are popular. They even let me turn the volume of the TV down because it was so loud which I liked a lot. So many other restaurants get so touchy when it comes to the tv lol. There was one worker in particular, Nati, who really went above and beyond. She was so sweet to us and made sure we constantly had everything we needed. I say it's great that they have workers like this in here because it makes customers feel a lot more welcome. It was some excellent service all around. The menudo was also one of the highlights of our visit here. In my opinion, it's very difficult to get this dish right. They offer it in many places here in SoCal but I would say I have yet to have it someplace where I really liked it. But here it was really great! The broth was great as it was not too smelly or rife with condiments. The tripe was also cooked to perfection. This is one of the most important parts because this is the part that is hard to get right. Sometimes the meat is too hard or too chewy or soft but here it was just right. I was even pleased with the size of the bowl as it was a rather fair portion. Something else I enjoyed about this place was the cleanliness. It was very clean and the tables shined bright as did the floors. Aside from this, there was also running AC in here which is always welcome, especially in this heat we have been having. If I am ever in the mood to have some menudo, I would most definitely come here and have it again and perhaps try some of the other things on the menu. I felt welcome and satisfied with my meal and this is what matters!

Stopped in for breakfast for the first time at this spot. The place seems to be new and had only one other customer at the time. Big and wide dining area with sit-down table service. The free chips are amazing, fresh out of the fryer. The salsa is mild and plain. Ordered a coffee and it was pretty bad, way too bitter. Tasted like instant Nescafé. The chorizo plate was great! Everything was flavorful and good quantity too. I will be back but I'll be passing on the coffee.

Honesty this is a hidden gem but this carne asada plate with shrimp was so good that I even forgot to take a picture. The shrimp was perfectly cook and the seasoning was in point I recommend this place. We got Michelada have no complains about it!!!! And the ambience is perfect customer service is great!!!! And the salsa for chips it's perfect spice and flavor!!!!. I will be retuning to this place if you feel like doing karaoke it's open to the public.

Waiting 30 Minutes already not a good first impression turn off your open sign
    Ramon M.

I came in as a recommendation and all I see is they're open but a brb paper in Spanish on the window with an open led light on. I waited about 40 minutes to see if someone will show up to open up n nothing so I just decided to just leave. Be professional n turn off ur sign if ur not open so people don't stand outside in the heat for almost hour thinking someone will open soon. I honestly will not waste my time to even come back to actually try the food

Very clean restaurant, shrimp cocktail very delicious. The quesabirria tacos are amazingly delicious. You must try. The michelada was so so good, not spicy at all. Definitely will come back again to this place. Kid-Lupe

We're in town on a business trip, and I have a feeling this is about to become our nightly dinner spot. The food was absolutely delicious--fresh, flavorful, and everything you want when you're craving amazing Mexican food. But what really made the experience special was our sweet server, Louroles. She was such a delight! So friendly, welcoming, and she even surprised us with a few extras just because I'm "sweet"... LOL! That kind of genuine kindness is something you don't forget. If you're anywhere near La Mirada, I highly recommend stopping by. Great food, wonderful service, and a place that instantly makes you feel like family. The chilaquiles looked great. They were decorated with garnish but as soon as you bit- argh disappointing. :/// The chef is heavy-handed with salt, the red sauce that was supposed to be "spicy" tasted like salty tomato paste. Sauce had no flavor :/ The worst thing was that they were swimming in sauce that made the chilaquiles soggy. The kiss of death. Chilaquiles are supposed to be crunchy not soggy. If they were crispy when they were made they were killed by the sauce flood. My hubby had the burrito & said it was ok. I just saw all the grease of the chorizo ozzing from his burrito -gross (strain it people!) Moral of the story: Keep looking for good chilaquiles, this is NOT the spot!/

The idea was to enjoy my coffee while getting organized--paying bills, planning calendar events, and having the opportunity to focus without any distractions from my usual surroundings. In search of the perfect spot, I turned to Yelp, a reliable resource for uncovering hidden gems nearby. Upon stepping into the coffee shop, I was immediately greeted with warm hospitality, setting the tone for a delightful experience. The ambiance of the place was truly captivating--it was bright and welcoming, infused with an aesthetic charm that instantly put me at ease. I couldn't help but be intrigued by the design elements throughout the shop, which added an inviting touch to its overall atmosphere. Before I settled in, I asked the staff if I could snap a few photos to capture the essence of this delightful space. They graciously welcomed my request, and I was shown to my table, which, quite uniquely, was designated by a number--a small detail that I found charming. As I browsed the menu, I encountered a small conundrum: I wasn't entirely sure what to order. I wanted to break the mold and try something out of the ordinary. My curiosity was piqued by their exclusive offering of Café de la Olla--a traditional hot drink that piqued my interest right away. I ultimately settled on a hearty plate that included rice, beans, and enticing potato tostones, accompanied by two beautifully cooked sunny-side-up eggs. As I waited for my order, I noticed the café was filled with the sweet sounds of old-school music from the '60s and '70s, which only enhanced the cozy ambiance while I sipped my drink. Now, let's talk about the food! I must say, I rated the café itself a solid 4 out of 5 for its overall charm, while the rice earned a respectable 4 out of 5. The beans were rich in flavor and received a fair 3.9 out of 5. The potato tostones, delicately bathed in a savory red sauce, stood out with an impressive score of 4.3 out of 5--these are a must-try if you visit! And as for the sunny-side-up eggs, they were good, but hey, eggs are eggs, right? Overall, the entire experience was quite enjoyable, from the delightful food to the warm atmosphere. A special shout-out goes to Ana, whose exceptional customer service made my visit even more memorable. The combination of fantastic service, inviting aesthetics, and satisfying food truly made for a perfect morning retreat. I can't recommend this spot enough for anyone looking for a relaxing place to unwind and focus on what matters.
