Food was not at all worth it, especially for the price. I tried multiple dishes and everything was lacking flavor and ingredients were not good on their own either. Portions were big if that's what counts, and I will say we went an hour and a half before closing which may have impacted this. I would definitely not recommend nor go again myself. I've been coming here for over 5 years, while my wife was pregnant with our 5 year old. Part of its charm is the Mom and Pop feel - they're always friendly and even play around with my son, who loves their fried wonton chips! It also helps that we fill our bellies with Thai Teas for under $50. (They also have boba!) The food has been a little inconsistent at times in preparation and wok time but overall it's been solid over the years. It was probably the best on his last visit. They have so many options including Chinese, Thai, and Vietnamese stir frys and soups. Everything tastes fresh and handmade, including their delicious sweet and sour sauce. Service was great and its clean. We ordered the orange chicken and lemon chicken that comes with white rice. And I also ordered chicken lo mein. White rice was not cooked all the way. Lo mein was okay but had a tad too much green onion. The lemon chicken was good but had too many slices of lemon and water chestnuts. The Orange chicken should be named "Halo Chicken" they put a lot of tangerine slices! Lol I give this place a 6 out of 10. The person over the phone was very helpful. However, the food was very bland and the sesame chicken barely had any sauce. The fried rice was just white rice with egg in it. We've been coming here for several years now, mostly for lunch, and it has become our restaurant of choice for Chinese food, though we enjoy their vietnamese dishes as well. The decor is very new and clean - you will not be embarrassed to bring friends and family here. Not particularly oriental-looking, but still very nice. We've never had a bad meal here, but we have had some that were better than others; seems to depend on who is cooking that day. In general, the flavors are good, the spiciness/heat is not overdone, and the quantities are good -- you can get a lunch special and be very full when you walk out the door. We like their vietnamese Bun dishes, except the egg roll version. I am a *huge* fan of vietnamese egg rolls, but I would not order them here. Any of their rice bowls make for a great lunch. I had the curried shrimp and tofu today (pictured), and it was superb -- lots of ginger flavor. There are several decent choices for Chinese food now in Oro Valley, but we will generally drive by the other ones to go here. Lastly, I love the mango/avocado/lime smoothie. It comes with a fair amount of honey, so it's a bit of a sugar blast, but the flavors are excellent though a bit unconventional. Highly recommended. read more

I hadn't been here in years so I stopped by on the way to Summit Hut. Decor has definitely improved. Casual modern with nice Asian accents, brightly lit. Booth seating is a bit elevated--I am not very tall and my feet barely touched the floor. My son and I had $8 lunch specials. The portions are good. Presentation is nice. All the food is well cooked. The vegetable egg rolls, basically spring rolls, were hot and crispy but lacked flavor. Egg drop soup and hot and sour soup were both excellent and the highlights. Crab puffs were fine but neither of us tasted any hint of crab or fake crab which is usually in these. Chicken wings were good. Main dishes were just average but not bad. My son had peach slushee and he liked it. I had Thai iced tea and it was average--not very sweet which is how I prefer it but a bit watered down. Overall a decent average meal in a clean space with excellent and quick service. I wouldn't recommend this to a Chinese food afficionado but it's a good place for lunch in between errands. read more

Would give 0 stars if possible. We were so delighted to find a place that served Vietnamese, Thai, Chinese all in one (without having to drive from Catalina all the way down to the University area). We gave it several chances. Five, I think. Over about a two month period. Tried something different each time. All marginal. They were all rude every time. Okay, if the food is great and the prices are fair, most can endure rude servers. Even if all three are fair, location might trump everything else. But alas... no. My boyfriend was the first to bail and say he would never eat here again because he was sure there were tiny bits of plastic in his rice. Gross but... I gave them the benefit of the doubt. Maybe it was just uncooked rice? Couldn't be really pieces of plastic, could it? Don't Google this. Seriously. You've been warned. Came back with my Mom today. Both of our last times. Three strikes you're out. In a nutshell, really petty but on top of all else - we ordered one salad and one lunch special which COMES WITH soup. Hot and Sour soup is free, Egg Drop has a .75 cent upcharge. Why? Who knows. Whatever. I ordered an extra cup of soup. We were just gonna share both entrees. When they bill came, they managed to intentionally criss-cross our orders so that not only did they charge us for extra for my soup - that is supposed to come "free" (i.e.: with the special) but they ALSO?! up-charged us for the "free" one, too?! When I pointed out this simple error, not only did they not correct it - we're talking take .75 cents off the bill (when you really should take $2.50 off, since that's how we ordered it - to make the most of the lunch "special"). Instead of being courteous and admitting their error - or just comping a stupid cup of .75 soup - they teamed up on us and made an uncomfortable scene. The rude owner then swooped down to provide back-up to the rude server - bringing menus back to point at and continue to harp their erroneous points. Awkward, now with other diners watching, I pointed out that the menu actually proved my point - and I pointed their own words to them - pretty much with an unwilling audience now. One bowl of soup should've come free WITH the lunch special (otherwise, what was "the special"?). They kept talking over me and interrupting me and ignoring the simple FACT I was pointing to on the menu they'd brought back. Finally, just to get out of there, I told them they could just split the bill in half and we'd never come back. My boyfriend asked if I had tipped - and being too good of a customer I did. I had not been here in years (since like 2012) and I didn't remember it being all that great. Recently I've been let down by one of my favorite Chinese places around this neck of the woods, so decided to come here again. So glad I did. Been here 4 times and every time was consistently perfect. The dishes I've tried: -Mango shrimp, sauce on the side: perfectly good, very unique dish - sesame chicken (besst I've had) - black pepper beef ( lemongrass deep savory flavor, not too sweet) - Mongolian beef, clean dish - volcano beef - beef lo mein (soft chow mein) - pork egg rolls - veggie egg rolls ( I like these best) - hot tea (the usual) A great experience every time, with such nice sweet servers! The natural taro boba is amazing! I have to say, out of many Chinese Restaurants I have attended. This would have to be one of the best in town. With great and prompt service, and amazing food. To begin with, this place is close to my work making it super convenient for me to go here here often and have lunch. I was told by one of my friends about this place and hands down, he wasn't joking that it was a great place. The place is sort of hidden but hey like they say, good things are hard to find! The entree I got a was a Vietnamese Bùn special dish with egg roll, pork and shrimp on top of lettuce, bean sprouts, vermicelli noodles and serve with a side of fish sauce and Siracha. The dish really tasted home made, like as if my mom would have cooked it along with great presentation. The entire entree tasted fresh and even the vegetables were fresh and crisp. To end the delicious entree, I had an all natural Taro Boba. That's right ALL NATURAL. Usually boba shops around here use powder or juice for their flavoring. However here they actually get the real fruit and blend it up into the Boba! I can literally taste the little bits of real fruit and that's what I enjoy. Blasting with scrumptious flavor! Overall, I enjoyed this place and will be returning to try out more dishes. The price is pretty decent and it's one of the Chinese Restaurants that I can clearly say. Everything is fantastic. I'm partial to the summer fresh rolls with peanut sauce. I ask them to remove the shrimp. Pad Thai is great, and a little bit spicy.
