This low-quality, fake-ass Chinese food restaurant should never be confused with the real, authentic, high-quality Chinese restaurant called The Golden Dragon. However, because this place was wrongly listed under the same listing as The Golden Dragon on Google, and because of the mistake of the person who ordered our food, we got Dragon Village, and it was a huge disappointment, to say the least. So do yourself a favor and try Golden Dragon instead, cause that place is bomb, and Dragon Village sucks. read more

Yesterday we decided to place a take out order, which included hot and sour soup, Mongolian beef, sizzling rice soup, house fried rice, and vegetable tofu. The hot and sour soup color was unappetizing as it looked like very dark chocolate, and the taste was even worse: over powering with vinegar and very salty. I ate a couple spoons and the rest was in the garbage. It was not edible. The Mongolian beef was very dark, same color as the hot and sour soup, and it was very oily and salty. The other dishes were mediocre and all the dishes were pricey. Definitely will not go back to this place. read more

I didn't get to order last night; the credit card reader didn't swipe in time to place the order. I did speak with an owner who told me unequivocally there is no MSG in anything. The menu used to employ several Duck dishes, including my favorite, Peking Duck. Many restaurants have eliminated ducks. They do have the mu-shu duck, I remember they did that quite well. The more traditional menu has dishes like egg foo young and a traditional shrimp with lobster sauce. The complaint I have with many restaurants in and around Oro Valley is they don't take orders, for delivery after 7:45. So for those of us who like to have dinner at 8:00, it's a challenge. The restaurant itself is cozy and intimate, although I rarely eat out. I will order on Wednesday or Thursday and firm up my review. They were kind. Further later on in the week.. read more

I wasn't sure what to expect from here but I was very disappointed. The food was mediocre at best, the prices were a bit high for the food quality, and the service was just weird! The only nice thing was the restaurant atmosphere, and my boyfriend liked his dish. Otherwise everything just wasn't good. Here's our experience: Food: My boyfriend and I both ordered Thai iced tea, and a shared plate of crab rangoon. He ordered the Mongolian beef for his entree and I ordered the BBQ pork noodle soup. The Thai iced tea was watered down and definitely came from a pre-mix pack. It was gross. The crab rangoon were large but tasted weird. His Mongolian beef was tasty which was the only highlight. My soup was awful. There were maybe 4 pieces of BBQ pork and some had burnt ends which tasted bitter. There was also some fatty parts. The cabbage in my soup had weird little brown spots on each piece so I took them out. The broth was flavorless so I added quite a bit of soy sauce. All in all the food was a miss. Prices: Our total bill came to around $55 which seemed very high to me. I don't think any of the food was worth the price. Service: While the service was quick, our waitress was very odd. She kept commenting on whether we finished or didn't finish a certain food item which was awkward. It is none of her business how we eat (or don't eat) our food! I don't know why this place has a low rating, but as soon as we walked in, we liked the ambiance and the staff were really friendly. As soon as we were seated our server has offered us the menu and asked what we wanted to drink. That's one thing we wanted in places we dine. Hospitality is key. The place is clean and not too cramped with tables and chairs. They were nicely spaced out. And food is great! One thing that I was not too crazy about is their Thai tea. For me, it was too bland. But everything was good. The portion is just right for their price. If you're looking for a good Chinese restaurant, you may want to consider this place. read more

Tried this place tonight and it's absolutely the best Chinese food I've ever had in Tucson! We got that appetizer sampler, everything was so hot and crispy. I got the Szechuan chicken and let me tell you it was perfect! The sauce was just the right and my husband had the sweet and sour pork which he really enjoyed. It wasn't to busy, fast friendly service. They would have gotten 5 stars but my husband used the restroom and he said it was dirty. The switch plate was black. read more

We really wanted to experience some good Chinese food as this place is just down the road from where we now live. The service was good but the food, well, it started with the Potstickers, as they were deep fried & obviously frozen ones rather than the traditional Chinese method of cooking them in a skillet until golden on the bottom then covered and steamed until ready to serve. Then came the Moo Shu Pork, Mongolian Beef & Singapore Noodles. The beef was nice and tender, but all three dishes were VERY salty, so if you like salt as the defining taste then have at it. We however will be on the search for a good Chinese restaurant and really hope Oro Valley has one because Dragon Village is not it! read more

We had heard some good things about this restaurant, both on the neighborhood app and from my wife's work. We arrived and were greeted hello and seated quickly. Drinks ordered two Dr Pepper's one Coke while we looked over the menu. My wife got an order of the crab puffs and we got a small egg flower soup to try. My wife and my daughter got a chicken lo mein to share and I got the sweet-and-sour shrimp. The soup was very flavorful and my wife who enjoys the crab puffs, so they were very good. The chicken lo mein came out next with a big portion, and that as well was very tasty. Then came up my sweet-and-sour shrimp, which is where to me start going downhill. The shrimp was not the plump size and battered normal like most restaurants when doing sweet-and-sour shrimp or chicken. Instead, this was the breaded fried shrimp that you would find in the most restaurants and dip in cocktail sauce. That was an automatic turn off. I also asked for extra pineapple, which I always get because my daughter likes cooked pineapple. Most oriental restaurants use chunk pineapple. They used tiblets which was just piled onto the plate. This was our first time trying Dragon Village and we were pleasantly surprised. From the phone order to place our order to picking it up and getting to enjoy it was a pleasure. The staff was friendly, it was bustling with happy people and full bellies, and the food was delicious. . This was our 1st time trying this restaurant. We were hopeful . We walked in and placed an order to go. The placing an order to go was a quick process. However, once we arrived home and opened our food I was very annoyed. We ordered beef chow mein and separate meal of Orange chicken. The orange chicken honestly there is no way to even identify the meat source it tasted like nothing and the white rice was a sticky hard rice I ate one bite of it all and spit it out was gross. My other half ate a few bites of the so called beef chow mein the meat too was and unidentified didn't taste like beef was chunks of breaded fat. This local OV "Chinese " restaurant wins the title of "best of choice". That is, based on what we have here, you really don't have delicious Chinese food options. The main reason for this post is to suggest that there are many diners out here that can distinguish a frozen Costco Spring roll from a truly handmade quality filled NY style egg roll. You know, the ones filled with crispy cabbage and veggies and moist pieces of amazing bbq pork and the wanton wrapper is freshly fried to perfection. The type of succulent bbq pork we get At Noodleholics. Restaurants that don't take pride in their food should note that there are those amongst us that know what your food should taste like. read more
