Excellent buffet and a big draw in Atmore. Food is always fresh and hot and the prices are reasonable. You can go back as many times as you want and they're always filling up dishes that are low- my favorite is the coconut chicken and shrimp - wontons are excellent as well. There's not a lot around but this is a solid Asian restaurant. The staff are extremely kind and attentive, definitely never standing still. I could tell that a lot of locals come here since the waiters knew most of their drink orders and were addressing them by their first names. The food was refreshed relatively quickly. Food is good! Melissa our server was sweet, and it was a peaceful lunch. Anything you could ever desire is on that buffet line. There isn't a giant selection of veggie/non-meat foods, but the beans, veggies, and desserts are good. Hot food is hot, cold food was nice and cool. read more

It was our first trip to Atmore & pleased to find a restaurant with great health scores 96 and it was very clean when we walked in. Even all the tables, chairs & floors were so clean- yes, the carpet is aged but it looked clean. It could use a good Carpet shampoo machine to get the ground in dirt/food out of the carpet & brighten up the colors. The food was very tasty, many options to choose from, the buffet was very clean & well-stocked! Soups were delicious and the salad bar was awesome. Our server was so nice & helpful. While we were sitting there taking our time, so many people came in to dine in and pick up orders, from all walks of life - we could tell this was a frequented restaurant. We will be back. It's a decent enough place, very tropical. I couldn't find anything extraordinary nor terrible. I don't usually do 3 star reviews but since I'm I'm Alabama for a couple weeks, I was pleasantly surprised to find a decent Chinese buffet. Surprisingly good. One of the better buffets I have been to. The best time to go is 11am to 1230pm or 4pm to 6pm.

I have been eating there at least 1 time every other month since they opened. Used to be great. Then pretty good. In the last 2 years the quality has gone way down. The food seems to be prepackaged now. My daughter and I went last Thursday night for dinner. We each had different things. We had the chicken on a stick in common. Very descent. Looks like they have a menu but everybody comes for the buffet. All you can eat for $12 and you can get it to go. I read the other 1 star review and I work at the hospital here and have never heard that. Also, i have taken a buffet to-go box around 5 times and have never had any problems. I do wish they had more vegetable options and the food IS greasy and salty but what do you expect from ANY Chinese buffet? Well, to hear from the local ER that on Sunday afternoons they periodically have a number of patients that arrive with what is referred to as the Chen's Cleanse ... Is not a ringing endorsement. We love Asian food but not sure that this is a place that we appreciate for consistent quality and taste. There are few just vegetable dishes. Green beans are good. Most all entrees are too greasy and too salty. Lo mein is downright slimey. As they refill the bins, there is always a small amount prepared of the more popular dishes. Folks seem to be standing and waiting, routinely. If you crave Asian in this immediate vicinity...head for your grocer's freezer. read more

I have been eating here for years. The food is always very good and the portions are large. My favorite Chinese eatery.

I stop at Chen's for dinner and lunch at least 3 or 4 times a month. They have a very high quality buffet that is maintained to high standards. The servers and management do everything they can to make sure your visit is pleasurable. They have a nice selection of Chinese and American food. They have many of my favorites including fried zucchini, house shrimp which I call garlic shrimp, fried shrimp, steamed shrimp, stuffed mushrooms, crab puffs, coconut chicken, sesame chicken, Mongolian beef, baked fish, seafood salad and so much more. They have a lot of nice deserts too. One thing about Chen's is that you can always, no matter what day it is, find consistent quality in the food. The only suggestion I would make is to have a special dish that changed daily to change it up a little. The price in amazing as well. It's all you can eat, including desert and drink for around $12.00. Best deal in town in Atmore for price and quality. read more
