Amazing birthday dinner here! Made reservations & they seated us early. Service was impeccable, attentive without being intrusive. Ambiance was so fun, enjoyed being next to the kitchen & getting to watch their excellent attention to detail and how seamlessly the staff operates. Made an early reservation right around 6pm. Greeted at door by two friendly hostess. Our server Chris was on point all night 5 star service on his part. . Now on to the food. My wife and I decided to share plates. We ordered the Brussels(excellent) oysters( our favorite of the night). Pork belly and fig jam.(excellent, pretty sweet) especially when paired with the sweetness of the balsamic on the Brussels. And the ribeye . I'll start firstly with...we came for our 33 year anniversary. Came with anticipation for a delicious delightful celebratory meal. Secondly our server Hunter was most gracious, kind and on top of things. He doesn't cook the meal, we understand that. We started with pita chips and crab dip. May I suggest, bread instead of those pita chip.... Ok onto the star of the dish...where's the crab flavor!? None! All I tasted was Dijon mustard! Yeah, please don't pass the grey puppon.....seriously though, that's All I tasted! After which I wash down with my canned ipa to cleanse the palette. On to the main course... I had the shipwreck. Filets were exceptionally tender a+....till I got to the so called crab cakes (my family hails from the crab capital Maryland )... so disappointed again I don't want anymore grey puppon! All I tasted was thanksgiving stuffing with Dijon mustard . I drank all my water, something I rarely do....just to get that taste out of my mouth. Upon returning home I promptly brushed my teeth to get that lingering mustard out of my mouth. Truly I honestly hoped for more, I hoped this would be a fantastic dinner....but no...not so. This was probably one of the best meals I've had in a very long time! The restaurant had a very friendly environment and I loved the openness. We started with an appetizer special of garlic crab claws (I didn't get a picture of these). The quantity and quality of food was superb! My husband chose the train wreck, which consisted of two beef, fillets, pork belly, fried green tomatoes with pimento cheese grits, and conecuh crab sauce, and topped off with a fried egg. It was delicious. I chose the shipwreck as my meal, which was two beef fillets, conrcuh creamed , two crabcakes, green beans topped with a delicious shrimp sauce. The hours drive was worth it! Let me just say the service ....top notch! From the hostess, manager, Chefs and waitress amazing. You enter and to the right is a quaint little bar with a nice variety of drinks. The main room has plenty of comfortable seating with pockets of cozy areas to sit. I loved the round tables as opposed to the basic long table. Makes it feel more personable. The open view to the kitchen /Chefs area is amazing to watch the meal prep process and the attention to detail on the presentation. The decor is fun, industrial and comes with plenty of history. When our food came two of the steaks were over cooked, when the manager came to the table she was rather condescending upon hearing our concerns. We have eaten at this establishment a couple of times. Although can be pricey, food has been good. This past experience was not the greatest. If you have someone who is more of a plain eater, and they are over the age of 10/11, then you may be out of luck. We had company in town, and it was my birthday dinner. This is more of a treat for us than normal eating. We had a young adult in our party and our waitress was zero help in assisting us with something they could order. We tried to order a kids meal, offered to pay extra, and was told No! I also ended up having to interrupt our waitress to place our order. There was a group of them standing around talking and I feel as if she was irritated at us having to stop her conversation. She came to our table, stared at us and didn't speak. However, she was very talkative to other patrons. My scallops were good. The steak fries were a little disappointing. The plain eater of the group didn't enjoy their meal much. My family and I celebrated my Mother's 70th Birthday at Gather in Atmore, Alabama and it was amazing. We had taken a look at restaurants in the casino where we were staying, but after reading reviews, I decided on Gather. I had originally made a reservation for a party of 8, but after a couple of family members popped up on us, we ended up having a party of 14. The manager and staff graciously found a way to accommodate us and allowed us all to sit together, which is typically impossible. The food and cocktails were delicious! My Mom's steak was cooked perfectly, my wife's curated veggie plate had conecuh creamed corn (definitely a must try), green beans, cabbage, and mashed potatoes was delicious-- every single item was flavorful and not just something thrown together like the sides at most places. Every single family member enjoyed their food and our waitress, Erica, was attentive and very accommodating for our larger than expected party -- she even took photos for us before we left. Can't say enough about the quality service and superb food. Not one item sent back and very satisfied party who got to celebrate our matriarch in a great way. Thanks Gather!!! read more

Unique atmosphere and good southern cooking with a twist. Service was good, from the hostess to the servers and runners. We ordered the fried green tomatoes appetizer - I am not a tomato person but this appetizer was amazing! The sauce is so good and it even came with some fried cheese curds on top. My wife got the train wreck and I got the shipwreck, both were delicious. The steaks were good but the accompaniments were well paired and the flavors were very impressive. The pork belly is melt in your mouth delicious. We decided on the Pecan cheesecake for desert and we're very glad we did. The cheesecake is perfect and the pecan pine underneath was wonderful. The two of us stopped here on the way back to Mobile from a trip to North Carolina. Who knew this gem was hidden in Atmore! We ordered the Brussels sprouts and the fig bruschetta for apps. Excellent! It is not often that a restaurant that is only about 7 months old can blow me away like this one did. I had just got back into the country from a long trip abroad and I just wanted a really good meal I could share with my family - unfortunately our foodie daughter was not able to join us. Anyway, there were 6 of us, including my wife and son, my parents and my wife's mother. I happened to see a commercial on a local TV channel regarding this restaurant, which is about 40 minutes away. We have driven much further than 40 minutes for really good food, so, if it was really good, it would be worth it. I called and made reservations for 6 at 5:30. When we arrived we immediately noticed a large table looking directly into the kitchen, similar to a chef's table. We love these and enjoy them any time we can. We were told that table was already reserved for the Chef Experience. This is a 5 course meal, with wine pairings for $75 per person. The chef works with the diners to create a customized menu, so each experience is unique and different... We will definitely be doing this soon. When we were seated, the waitstaff was gracious, friendly, courteous and not too "present" without ever being absent. The menu is very unique and has some wonderful options. For appetizers we chose the fresh fried pork skins that come with a garlic cheese sauce - this can be upgraded to a Conecuh crab sauce for $2 more. We chose to go with the original sauce. We also ordered the Hill-Billy hummus, which is made with black-eyed peas instead of chickpeas. Both were super and I would easily order them again. There are also sweet and sour brussel sprouts and Great balls of fire fried mozzarello available. We will be going through those again in the future. After appetizers, the menu is divided in two sections. The first is called "Gather just a little bit..." and the other is "Gather for supper" Three of us tried offferings from each section. We had Shrimp tacos, Fried Georgia quail and Caesar salad with grilled chicken from the "just a bit" section and Shrimp and grits, Gather's Un-smashed burger and Gather for a ribeye from the "Gather for supper" section. Everything was cooked perfectly and everything was delicious. The "just a bit" section is going to be perfect for those who want a smaller portion, the "for supper" section is going to be huge portions. I can tell you that every plate was completely empty. We then had the Peach/Cherry Cobbler with ice cream and the pecan pie cheesecake for dessert... again outstanding. You have to try this place, on the chef's table, they only need a few days notice. They recommend not doing the chef's table on Friday or Saturday, just so more attention can be given by the chef. Also, they are closed on Sunday and Monday. read more

My what a pleasant surprise this was. I come to Atmore a few times a year on business and now I have found a wonderful place to eat a very good dinner. I really liked the quint atmosphere, layout and decor. My server was Silver and he made some great suggestions and provided very good service. I started off with the baked oysters, wonderful. Next was a house salad, very crisp and fresh. Silver suggested the house specialty, a Ribeye. My goodness, seasoned and cooked to perfection. My only complaint is that it was not a bone in ribeye. But a minor complaint. I was also impressed with the wine list. Several real good choices of whites and reds by the glass and/or bottle. I will definitely be back on my next trip I gave them four stars, but for Atmore it is definitely a five star restaurant. With that said, people of Atmore, AL, dress appropriately the next time you decide to go back. Would it kill you to put on some decent clothes and shoes?? Stopped by Gather today after noticing it on the way to a client meeting. As soon as we stepped into the restaurant I knew we had made a good decision. The place was buzzing with a ton of folks eating lunch. We were quickly seated and presented with details on the daily special. The entire menu looked treat and we ordered the brussel sprouts for an appetizer. They were great. For our meal we ordered a burger with blue cheese and the lunch special, a jalapeño pepper brined fried chicken breast on a sweet bun. Both sandwiches were accompanied by locally grown squash and zucchini and pickled okra. Burger was very juicy and tasty, covered with blue cheese, and the sweet bun was awesome.
