I went to Cheogajip after seeing a friend post mouthwatering pictures of his sweet potato pizza and 2 types of fried chicken. Rookie mistake on my part because I went to the restaurant without asking for his input. The result? i used to be a loyal customer and used to go here like all the time.. didn't go for a while and recently ordered from them and it tastes like shit. there are no fat in the chicken and the pizza seems like it came out of a frozen package. doesn't taste fresh anymore.. and the workers are mad rude. not coming back here for a while! read more

First of all. I hate the customer service from this place. Don't get me wrong I love the spicy sauce chicken. Its only the customer service I'm disgust about. The guy who delivered the food was really unfriendly with no smile nor no "thank you" or what so ever. I ofcuorse gave him tip. I stopped coming for a while because their food wasn't as good as it used to be. However, I went again and it is backkkkk!! And better than ever. Their gogoomah (sweet potato) pizza is bomb. I've been dragged here a few times, but I drew the line on coming going here after one incident. First we were charged extra for food we didn't order. The waiter argues with us until we threaten to ask for the manager. Then when the corrected check comes back and I pay, the waiter shortchanges us, saying "Oh, I thought were you going to tip the rest." You think I'm going to give you a $8 tip on a 32 dollar bill after that? -- Anyway, I am a fan of their sauced chicken. It's quite good--saucy, spicy, and sweet. Don't get the regular fried chicken, it's more like KFC than Kyochon/Bonchon-esque Korean Fried Chicken. The pizza is terrible. First of all, it's pizza from a Korean chicken joint. And then just take a moment to check the crust underneath (the so-called "upskirt" shot. It's perforated worse than a Ritz cracker. It's clear that these are preformed disks of dough, like the kind you'd find in the frozen food aisle of a supermarket. Food is decent and service is subpar but don't think about ever leaving anything of value there by mistake. My wallet fell out of my pocket and they had found it but left it out in the open for everyone to see and now is stolen. I came here with 6 other friends and ordered their pizza and chicken combo which was around $60. It also came with a few cans of soda, fries, and salad. For 7 of us, we had plenty of food. Actually, we couldn't even finish all the chicken despite the hardcore eaters we had. I thought their price was very reasonable for the quality and quantity they gave us. Also, their Korean fried chicken is one of the best in this neighborhood. The only problem would be that it's not a very large store so there may not be enough seats sometimes. I recommend the sweet potato pizza. For foreigners who are unfamiliar with Korean pizza toppings, it may sound disgusting but I assure you that it's really delicious. read more

This late night place is great if you are craving chicken and pizza. Don't expect true Italian quality pizza though, these pizzas are thin and mimic Korean style pizza so they tend to run slightly on the sweeter side. They have combo/set options if you come in parties or are particularly hungry with your date. The interior runs on the darker side and they have TVs, but I haven't seen anything play other than k-pop music channels. If you're ordering pickup I would highly recommend calling in ahead of time first because they usually require about ~30-45 minutes to have your order ready. read more

I used to order chickens at night. They were very kind and nice by phone call but now, they don't ask me if I want to get delivered or to-go and just hang up without asking after they receive the order menu. This is a hidden gem. They have lunch specials on the weekend. A guest and I ordered sashimi lunch box and salmon lunch box. Some asian spots act racist depending on who you are or who you bring (sorry but real reality how asian restaurants treated me over the years because of me or my guest). This spot the waitresses were soo nice. They gave us side dishes, as it is Japanese and Korean Restaurant. They gave us complimentary fried cabbage in batter, which was yummy. And the bento box was filling. You get salad, 2 california roll pieces, tempura pieces, fried rice, and main dish. I had like 12 sashimi pieces. My box was only like $12 or $10. Cheogajip combines some of the things I love most in life. Korean Fried Chicken + Pizza + Beer. Ok first off the chicken is the tour de force here. It's pretty big pieces, juicy and the crust is what you expect from a Korean Fried Chicken recipe. The Hot version of the chicken has a thick multi-note flavor profile that if you can handle heat I would recommend. Here's where this review gets a little tricky. The pizza, it's really good but not in the traditional pizza way. If you have a crave for pizza do not come here for it. The pizza here is more a kin to papa johns or some other fast pizza place. It is good and after a visit here you will probably crave it again but the only thing pizza and Cheogajips pizza have in common is the name pizza. Ive tried both the bulgogi and buffalo chicken pizza and would recommend the latter. This place is a great place to go with friends after a day of handball or maybe a softball game. I love eating at CHEOGAJIP!!! It tastes so good! If you come here with more than 3 people I recommend getting a combo the one with half of sauteed chicken and the other half original chicken with potato wedges, and sweet potato pizza, and soda. I love their sweet sauce marinated fried chicken! It is that classic korean style sauce that other places like B or K chicken place doesn't offer (I usually go to B or K for soy sauce chicken or garlic). It is a small place, but has decent seating areas with tv that is playing Kpop music program on the loop. I love it that they give you extra side dishes like cabbage salad with mayo and ketchup, and also popcorn (though I don't touch popcorn). And though I've only ordered the potato fries only once like 2 years ago, it was alot! like a mountain load (a little exaggeration). There are the times when I'm just craving that classic korean style marinated chicken, and this place offers it! I go here at least once a month. If I wasn't on a diet, I'd eat it weekly. read more
