I've passed by this place not realizing what a popular spot it is. Come early and it's easy to get a seat for a larger group. Seating is very comfortable and spacious so you have plenty of space to cook, eat. We sat down quickly and ordered. The wait staff helps cook the meat so that made it much easier. One of my go to bbq place in Murray hill and got the black pork belly, la Galbi, and beef tongue. The galbi was my favorite followed my the pork belly. Actual charcoal for the BBQ (we have been suckered before with places that showed pictures of charcoal, but food was actually cooked on flat tops on gas burners). Banchan was hit and miss, but that's more of a personal preference. On the other hand, we found Kim chee that we both like, and it doesn't taste mass produced. And you can buy it at the store around the corner. Service was a little indifferent, but hey, you come for the food and it was goood! Came here on a Saturday night for dinner. We were seated promptly. I'd recommend making a reservation if you can. We called same day and were able to. The banchan is very fresh and tasty. We got to try and eat some new ones not typically served at other Korean places I've been to. For meats, we got the BS-1 set which comes with a couple cuts of beef I can't remember, beef tongue and thick cut pork belly. The meats are grilled for you and our server cooked them very well and portioned it out and served it to us which was a nice touch too. The meats were all excellent quality. We also got cold noodles for the end and they even helped portion and split that into smaller bowls for us too. This was some of the best cold noodles I've had. It was a perfect, refreshing end to the meal. They end with a small cup of punch (unsure what it was but it was sweet and tasted like cinnamon). We all really enjoyed this meal and the quality of everything was great. I'll definitely be back here for KBBQ in the future and especially more cold noodles! read more

We were seated right away, looked at the menu for a good 5 minutes before ordering. The banchan(small side dishes) came out right away and the food all came out shortly after. We ordered the crispy dumplings, seafood pancake, 2 orders of bibimbap, cold noodles, 2 orders of the raw marinated crabs, and the spicy octopus main dish. In addition, what we ordered came with 2 soups. The raw marinated crabs came highly recommended, hence why we ordered 2 whole dishes of it. However, I'd say they didn't live up to the hype. While they were good, I'd have to say that I had better in ktown and other areas of Queens. I don't recommend the cold noodles. Their noodles were thin and all stuck together, even after cut with scissors. Taste was more bland than other restaurants. Dumplings and seafood pancake as appetizers were okay. Good for the group but don't think it's anything special. The octopus was good with a kick of spice if you're into that. Good amount of meat! I love spice so I didn't taste any spice but it sure was flavorful! My friends who aren't use to spice thought it was too spicy to eat again. Bibimbap was nice and filling. Came with loads and loads of veggies and you can adjust the flavor with the red gochujang blend sauce in the bottle. Honestly, we could have ordered just one of them but we packed the other to go. We got it less spicy and that was the right choice because because it was still spicy but not overly so. We also ordered two babsangs which came with soy bean stews, mackerel and galbi. The galbi was tasty but a tad sweet and oily. The mackerel was good and the soy bean stew was excellent. This was more than enough food for four people. I got 설렁탕 and while I've had better elsewhere, it still holds up with its milkiness and fairly tender brisket. I got mixed rice with it which they didn't charge me extra for. just now New November 11,2025: I decided to go for lunch at this restaurant and to my surprise the service and food was one of the worse Korean bbq restaurants I been too. I had order pork soup and seafood pancakes . The soup was watery and the seafood pancakes was the worse. Very thin and no seafood if any and tasted like it came out from the microwave. When we arrived we sat down and order the dishes and in less then 5 minutes it was served. The waitress was one of the worst we ever had. She never came over to the table if we needed anything or if everything was ok with the food and to top it off had only 2 napkins for a party of two. When we had finished we paid and left $15 tip which she did not deserve from a bill of about $66. I decided after we paid to order an extra bottle of sake cost about $16. Gave her a $20 bill and to asked her twice for my change. She said thought I said to keep the change. In total as a business owner myself this type of behavior is unacceptable and unprofessional. Hahm Ji Bach is a well-known Korean bbq restaurant in Flushing and I do agree that it's one of the better ones. It's usually packed every time I go but the wait times aren't terrible. They are also fully Korean run but understand enough English to order. The service is alright - food comes out at a decent rate, banchan can be refilled if you ask, but since they're usually busy, they don't pay too much attention to your table. The staff also comes to cook your meat for you. We ordered the three beef combo with came with beef brisket, beef tongue, and marinated beef ribs. All of these different cuts were delicious. They also give lettuce and sauces for lettuce wraps, which is the best way to eat Korean bbq meats. We also ordered the black pork belly which was also tasty. It had a good balance of fat to meat and the staff really cooked it to the right level of doneness so there was some crisp around it. All of the meats were such great quality. Definitely a top Korean bbq spot. Menu has a good variety of appetizers, entrees, and different bbq meats to choose from. I'd skip their pancakes. I've tried both the seafood pancake and the chive pancake and their version tends to be on the chewy side. It's also fairly thin and not very filled with toppings so it's not my preference. My bestie never experienced a server cutting and serving the meat to us. We were asked if we preferred the fattier or leaner pieces. It is a very warm atmosphere and the banchan were delicious.
