I have seen Cherps neighborhood bar grow into an awesome great Fontana's version of the Cheers bar. The original owner Mr Cherps died and he left this bar to a woman that was his bartender and best friend for years. She has taken this bar and upgraded it to a new level, and has given it a new face, with a continual upgrading and adding of new beers and drinks. If they have a drink you like they will get it in and have it the next time you come back. The prices are reasonable. There's ample parking, friendly servers. Great place to watch sports with friends with a low stress atmosphere. She has recently added food trucks, with different venues and menus, and is in the process of upgrading her kitchen so she can accommodate different foods choices. We have the opportunity to try a taco stand that was there tonight and the food was very tasty. This is a great place for a date night. read more

Ok where do I start with this bar... excellent karaoke, good bartender Rachel... but... please whoever owns this bar, turn the lights down for karaoke!! Nobody wants to go to a bar with bright lights & sweating your ass off from just sitting down... I had to keep walking outside to get fresh air ! Please turn on the A.C. Or get some good fans... I'm not sure I would return to this bar simply for the fact that I felt like i was in a sauna!! It is a great bar, located in downtown area of Fontana! The drinks are quite cheap. Especially, their cocktails are fairly priced. I have been at this establishment, many times. I would come here, after work, and before heading home, to have some drinks with friends. I have good memories of this place. The bartender was quite friendly and helpful, and ambiance was great. The place was clean. Definitely, it is a good bar, and quite a hidden gem. I would visit this bar again, next time, when quarantine is over, and businesses can reopen. read more

Ah Cherps. This place is by far one of the trashiest dive bars I have ever been to. This simple fact earns it a special place in my heart. The first time that I was a patron here my friend, Justin, and I parked in the seedy little back alley (he's a regular) and started to walk up to the back door. We were quickly distracted by the smell of roasting meat. Imagine our luck, there was a family BBQing on the back of their truck selling ribs to customers like this was a completely normal thing to do! I went against all rational thought (I was goaded on by my friend) and I purchased small feast for 3 dollars. We bellied up to the bar with our food (they let us eat it there) and ordered some beer. The beer is cheap. The bar was smokey! Although there are "No Smoking" signs clearly posted at various spots in the bar, people light up anyways. The bartender that is usually there when I am, is a no-nonsense woman, who is friendly but wary of shenanigans. She's not about to be taken for a ride! The other patrons are usually lively. Dancing, or some sort of jerky gyrating, usually occurs. It's usually just one maverick-y man, dancing around the bar since there is no official dance floor. But isn't that why we go to dive bars; to laugh at others and feel better about ourselves? I met a guy there once who had been to jail. He invited me to go to the VFW with him. He sang Vanilla Ice and other bad early 90's songs very, very loudly and cursed at anyone who would dare look at him. I heard that the cops came later. Women tending bar friendly, patrons ok. 2 pool tables, 3 t.v. at the bar and 2 projectors at each end. They have no premium beer, just the basics. Beer prices ok. Mix drink prices a little high for this place. Decor all over the place, there is no theme. It seem's what ever the vendor's give them they put up. It look's clean from the bar looking around. The crowd seemed like it was mixed and had quite a few regulars which is always a good sign. There are definitely better places to go. Patrons git there own drinks and played with the tip bucket. Bartender was cool. Bartender had the regulars get ice for them. Dive bar definitely. I've come here about 3 times years before for karaoke and it was ok...after being invited by friends and my husband's first time here I go sit at the bar and a blonde old employee was sitting next to me and then takes her stuff and what we assumed went to work as she should so my husband sits next to me and she comes back and tell my husband "you stole my seat" so we laughed thinking it was a joke but no she waddles her hand out telling him to move and of course my husband is not gonna be rude so he moves but it did piss us off cuz we are a paying customer and an employee tells my husband to move when there were clearly no signs with her name on it...we aren't regulars so we don't know that you sit there all the time until our friend told us ... regular or not that was very unprofessional, tacky and ghetto telling a customer to move from a bar seat. Never coming here again, someone needs to call John Taffer cuz they were very unprofessional, dirty bar and drunk employees. read more

This was the second attempt to come into this bar to have a good time for the evening but due to my crooked walk which is because I am disabled, the bartender or staff member decided that I am intoxicated(even though I am not). I had only had one drink before I left the hotel to have a good time for the evening. I figured that the previous bartender had simply misjudged my situation the night before which I also only had drank one beer. Which is why I decided to give the place another chance. But unfortunately I was wrong and they misjudged my situation. I am a stroke survivor and have a weak left leg which renders my walk with a limp. If you have a disability I would not recommend this place to come to and try to have a good time with your friends. THEY WILL MISJUDGE YOU, and refuse service to you as they did me. Shame on this staff for not having a more diverse understanding. read more

I came in for a drink with my service dog. I have all the paperwork and ID for my dog. I was told no dogs are allowed, not even service dogs and asked to leave. The woman said she was the bar owner. I got the strangest treatment ever and the owner embarrassed my girlfriend because of it. I went into the bar me and my lady for a couple drinks. Everything was going good decent crowd then the owner shows up and tells me to leave. Then she tells my lady that I have been to this bar being aggressive and fighting all the time.
