Location, location, location! This icy goodness is the closest ice cream to the beach. There was about a 30 minute wait which is understandable during the busy season. The dip went a little bit too deep, the two people in front of me had orders that cost $70, and $60. For ice cream in Alabama This kind of got my attention and my one scoop with a topping listed at 3.75 was over 6.00. It is not made from scratch ice cream, nor anything local, it is literally Mayfield ice cream. Has a religious, rigid feel to it and slightly uptight. It's just ice cream right, but I feel the prices should be explained instead of going to town on peoples pockets. A little disrespectful as people are traveling and tired, over charging should be explained so you don't feel like that person holding up the line. These prices for ice cream that you can literally buy in a grocery store, seem extremely crazy to me. There is tons of seating and perfect for a strict family with tons of money think the Duggers. Being that I'm a great lover of ice cream, I have to say that this place is on the top of my list when I want a delicious treat!! Not sure what's in that stuff but it's so rich and creamy just the way I like it and how ice cream should be served. And the convenience of being right across the street from the beach...well, what more could you ask for? Oh wait! The staff!! I have to mention how friendly they all were! They said they were the new owners and just took it over mid March. You could tell John and Maggie are doing what they love to do because it showed as they served us with a smile and made small talk. Due to staff shortages, there was only 1 person in the shop by herself. When we asked, she said she had to spend an hour alone and it was packed. She was AMAZING.
