Homemade cookie and blue Happy Pappy coffee mug

I was looking for a coffee shop on the way home from vacation. I found a few options and decided to take a look at Happy Pappy's menu because something about the name stood out to me. I read their "about" story on their website and knew I had to go! The inside is super cozy and they have many options for food and drinks. The owner was in the back working along with everyone else, so they really are locally owned and operated. They were really busy and service was a little slow, but I had no problem at all waiting. To most, that might be a negative thing, but what I saw was how popular this tiny, local coffee shop was. That proves that the wait is worth while! If you're around the area, definitely stop by.

When you walk in, it smells wonderful coffee in the air, people chatting, and the vibes are immaculate. The baristas were super helpful shoutout to Jadelyn! I was debating between a couple different things on the menu the beach blonde sounded good but I settled on the Honey Bee with a little caramel, and it was delicious not too sweet, with a nice undertone of honey and coffee flavor. Perfect for the morning. My lady got the Marilyn Monroe, and it was also great. The coconut flavor was amazing definitely sweeter than mine, but another great option. My only qualm is I sucked my drink down before I could get a proper picture. Thank you Happy Pappys for an excellent experience!

    Greek grilled cheese to go

Visited here to grab a light later afternoon lunch to tide us over till the evening. This spot is set a little back from the main road and is unfortunately at time of writing sort of difficult to access (at least if you're headed into the area from Orange Beach) because of construction. Had to do a couple u-turns but I did finally make my way there! They have a cute patio and the inside is a total vibe! I could absolutely see myself hanging out here to catch up with a friend. It'd be nice to work in, too, though it was a little noisy at least on an early Friday afternoon. They serve coffee and some basic breakfast and sandwich items and desserts. There's obviously a bit of a Greek flair going here, which makes it fun -- Greek coffee, baklava, and a Greek grilled cheese. I wanted to get my order to go so I could bring some lunch back to my husband at the condo. The line moved quickly enough although my food wound up taking a little while. I'll blame the fairly large party ahead of me, though. I ordered the aforementioned Greek grilled cheese for myself and a Gulf Shores panini for my husband. Both sandwiches came with a bag of Ms. Vickie's chips. Since I wasn't satisfied with my coffee from a different shop earlier, I also decided to order one of their energy drink mixers. I was too scared I'd get burned on coffee again, lol. This one was called Shark Bite iirc and is made with Red Bull and strawberry and coconut flavors. I was really hoping it would taste like a Dutch Bros Shark Attack Rebel as that's a go-to of mine, but sadly it really didn't. The coconut flavor was suuuuper strong and it tasted artificial, which like...of course it is, lol, but it's nice to be able to fool yourself! Other than this little blip, though, our sandwiches were both delicious, especially the Greek grilled cheese. It tasted like spinach and artichoke dip on toasty bread, and who wouldn't love that? Service was super nice and responsive to my needs. Would recommend, would return!

So as I'm leaving gulf shores I stopped to get some coffee and this unsuspecting place was absolutely packed so I decided to get some food as well and man I was not disappointed! The ambience is a cool little shop and they were well staffed allthough perhaps not quite enough for the volume they had. The girl at the counter recommended they coffee cake which was absolutely fantastic; perhaps the best coffee cake I've ever had. I also had a bacon egg and cheese muffin which was also super delicious and freshly made! Coffee was good too but after having the food it certainly was secondary! Will certainly be back if I'm in gulf shores!

By far the best coffee shop in Gulf Shores! There are lots of tables and comfy couches where you can relax or work. The coffee is incredible! I always order the honey bee, which has little droplets of honey at the bottom to make the end of your drink a little extra sweet! Huge shoutout to the staff! They are always super friendly and make you feel welcome. The owner is also seen regularly chatting and hanging with the guests. Chill, happy vibes at Pap's!

Went for coffee. My son and I had the Greek coffee. It was pretty good!

We went in for coffee. It was pretty good. The geeek coffee was good. The energy drink was good. My husband can't remember the name of his drink but he liked it was well.

Me and my wife have been going to this coffee shop for years when we visit the area. It is always a very welcoming atmosphere and their coffee is amazing! If you are a fan of specialty latte's, this is the coffee shop to go too! They also have several seasonal drinks as well! Definitely recommend!

Great service & good coffee. The large only comes with 2 shots, which is less than almost anywhere else but as long as you know ahead of time and add your extra shots you're good to go. I'm sure I'll be back while on vacation.

the servers were so nice, the place was cute and clean, they had tons of seating, and the menu had a good selection! they were a bit more expensive that i had expected even for the area but they have good coffee and the breakfast sandwich was so flavorful and fresh, that the price on that one was worth it. the food took a while to come out but it was hot when it did. my only complaint is when i went to order the key lime pie, not only was it expensive, but it was also not fresh, small, and definitely not homemade like they said. it was the main thing i was looking forward to and it was a bit of a disappointment.

Their cold brew is fantastic! Best I've ever had.

Good for coffee. It's casual and great for coffee and dessert. Hard pass on the food, it's just meh and seems low quality.

Bright, airy, modern. The clientele is bougie enough that I felt a little out of place, lol, but I still enjoyed being there. I had a little bit of a hard time figuring out their menu. Signage is kind of limited and small, clustered on a counter which isn't easy to see if there's a line. I later found on their website that they have "local fave lattes," many of which sounded better than what I wound up ordering. I wish they'd been listed on a menu that I saw. At any rate, I decided on a shaken brown sugar latte. The employee who took my order was adequately if not effusively friendly. There were several young women working hard behind the counter to accommodate the large volume of orders. It took a bit for me to get my drink, but within a reasonable amount of time considering how busy they were. I thought the price was maybe a smidge high for the size of the drink, but what else is new these days? I got my drink and headed to my car. Overall, it was just okay. My first sip was a huge overly sweet mouthful of brown sugar; I don't think it was mixed super well. I moved my straw up and got a second mouthful of mostly milk. Then I used the straw to mix the drink myself and gave it a few gentle swishes with my hand. That helped some. This was a decent brown sugar espresso, but even after I mixed more thoroughly, it was still on the overly milky side for my preferences. Again, I wish I'd seen a different latte option to order. I think I might've liked a different flavor combination more. When I eventually return to the Gulf, I may give them another try and get something more up my alley. I enjoyed the modern, sunshiney, beachy vibes and would like to sit on the patio and enjoy a coffee when time permits.
