They raved to us about the local creamery that made all of their own homemade ice cream, and had a very dynamic and rotating menu of flavors. As ice cream lovers, we were excited to give it a try! The inside is very eclectic with wall to ceiling DIY murals, and what appears to be thrifted seating inside. The women at the counter were nice but not very welcoming, just kept to themselves and tried to keep the long line moving as fast as they could. Important to note - they're CASH ONLY. Despite all of the unique flavors, I felt a bit limited (to be honest). Very little topping options as the ice creams are designed to have the toppings inside. This makes it hard to get any degree of customization if there's a flavor you like but has one or two no-go ingredients (which was the issue I had most.) The temporary flavor I had was fine, but didn't blow me away or seem any more special than my local spots back home. I think this is an interesting place but I think if I was local, this wouldn't be my usual spot. They truly cater to people who have an adventurous palette and like trying new things, which limits the kind of guests you can attract, or friends you can bring along. (I personally find something I love and tend to stick with it for ice cream, which would be difficult here. And most in my family don't seem to be as adventurous.) My Yuma (daughter) tried Honey Lavender. I think these are still our favorites. We haven't been to the place since school started but I feel all are in need of that goodness. It's in a totally nondescript building but the road itself is always busy, so I hope that equates to strong profits for them. I visited midday Sunday on Thanksgiving weekend. The interior is small but cozy with a handful of tables for eating in. They offer a variety of gelato options, standard coffee drinks, and a select food menu (mostly paninis but also soup and a special pasta). I ordered a small cookies and cream gelato with a double espresso. Both were great. I loved that they add a mini cone to the gelato cup. It was cute and tasty! Prices are reasonable for the quality, and the staff members are friendly. The business has roots in Calabria (southern Italy, just above Sicily). FYI - They temporarily close in January. I don't live nearby anymore, but I'll certainly return on trips to see family -- and I know local family will recommend this sweet cafe.
