    Soaking Tub

I have stayed at the Cherry Valley Hotel numerous times. My daughter had two birthday parties here and I come to the Neat Bourbon event they've held for the last two years. I honestly don't think there's a hotel out there where you can receive a better value for the price of a guest room here. The entire hotel is designed to resemble a rustic lodge and upon walking up to check in (in the colder months at least) there's a large, inviting fireplace lit with plenty of seating to welcome you in. The rooms are large and clean and maintain the hotels rustic design. The rooms have large couches and a large flat screen that swivels so you can enjoy it from the seat of your choosing. The soaking tubs are my favorite part and are a great place to unwind after your daily activities. I saw a lot of reviews complaining that the jacuzzi in the pool area is always broken but I'd rather have my own private soaking tub anyways. There are multiple restaurants in the facility, however, I'd recommend dining elsewhere. My husband and I dined in an igloo at the Craftsman that had a prix fixe menu and for a 170 dollar dinner it did not deliver in taste or quality. Drinks, however, were well made and delicious. All in all I believe it's a great place to stay and as someone who stays at hotels often, very cheap for the amenities you receive.

If I could give the hotel a negative rating I would. During my stay I found TWO live cockroaches in the room, there hotel room was not cleaned properly with hair on the comforter, dust bunnies on the carpet, cob webs on the ceiling light, and a pants sticker on the back of the bathroom door that would have been noticed if housekeeping would have closed the door to sweep. I reported the incidents when I checked out (as I was in town taking care of my sick mother and not just staying at the hotel to enjoy it) I was told I would be compensated by refunding one of the days but I would hear from a manager. Hours went by and no word from a manager. I called and spoke to a supervisor who told me because I didn't report the problem during my stay (which I did, I reported them before I checked out) there was nothing they could do. I work in customer service and am appalled I was basically told I was lying about the issues and there was nothing they could do to compensate my stay. Adding pictures below for YOUR review as potential future customers. Please do not stay here unless you want to sleep with roaches!

Loved this place. Great value and clean big rooms. Comfy beds. Wonderful breakfast. Highly recommend. I was leery because the price was so cheap, but I was pleasantly surprised.

I went in here for my anniversary dinner at Craftsman. The hotel is so beautiful with an amazing ambiance. The Christmas decor gave me cabin vibes. I enjoyed spending time by the fireplace with my husband and adorning the decor.

This hotel is beautiful with great decor. All the walking around space and courtyards to look at really make for good evening. I stayed in a executive suite so maybe it depends where you get your room but it was big enough to live in for a few nights.

Its a neat hotel with the conference center attached. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Facility was clean and well-kept inside. The rooms are showing some fatigue and could use some updates. The decor is, well, a bit disturbing. The deer head in a suit was a little troubling for several in our party, but not a huge deal. Food was good and catering was good as well for the event. The lodge feeling in the main lobby area is quite cozy and warm. Its a nice place, but it appears its going to be a high maintenance facility.

I'm definitely updating last year's review! I could not believe how much this place has gone downhill. It's a shame too because it was a beautiful hotel with great food and friendly service, NOT NO LONGER! We came here for an overnight stay for a birthday and to eat in the winter igloo. First off the woman at the front desk was rude I brushed it off but when I went up again due to all the ice machines being out of service she said well you will just have to walk up here and get it from us! Wow like every ice machine is down. Then the room was filthy I could not believe they left this room that dirty. Our igloo dinner reservation for 8 pm turned into us getting sat at 10:30 pm and eating at 11:15 at night. There was another couple who was there for their anniversary and said they had been waiting three hours to be seated, finally, they walked out. I asked the woman at the front desk why they don't tell people when making their reservations that the hot tub was down and ice machines are broken, her reply was we don't advertise for that so...sorry! Well, it's sure there and in your pictures online. I was very upset with this whole experience this time and will no longer refer anyone anymore here or try to plan a nice stay or dinner here. It's sad because last year when my husband and I came it was a great stay. The only positive was the really nice gentleman bartender we had.

So to our surprise, this hotel has been one of the cleanest stays in a long run. We were in choicehotels group, and every where we have stayed in one, from Frankenmuth MI to Belleville MI to Pittsburgh PA we have started to take our own bedsheets and lysol disinfectant wipes just to be on the safe side. We did not need them here. The beds were clean, the bedsheets were clean, the bathroom was clean, the front desk was clean and uncluttered. The only issue we had was in room #321 there were no bath towels, but when I contacted the front desk lady, Ashley, our needs were met ultra fast with an apology. It was not her fault. That's the job of the housekeeping supervisors to check and see if all is ok before rendering a room to be reopened for business, but the apology came from Ashley the only representative at night while we checked in. Awesome customer service in her part. The next morning we rushed down to have a quick breakfast, and I dropped my wife off at her work site. Returned back to the hotel and lounged around till 1pm with a late check out. Their normal checkout is 12pm. Love the times. For at choicehotels we had to start "kicking the customers out by 10am to make room for the next set of guests".

I knew I was going to love this place when I was greeted by the golden retriever Dakota when we arrived. Yet another lovely pooch greeted us at the door, Miss Wrigley. Loved having the pets around. The garden and home are amazing. Really quite lovely. They also have a beautiful pool with lounge area and a lovely big porch in the front of the home. We stayed in the Berllan Glen room. It's gorgeous. Big bedroom area, very large bathroom area, and private porch. The pictures speak for themselves. Some folks may need a step stool to get into the bed :) The reason for the one start deduction is that I went to put my lingerie in the bureau. I saw a bunch of women's stockings all curled up inside in a drawer. I assumed someone forgot their clothes. Then I opened other drawers. They too were all filled. Then I went to the end table chest of drawers on both sides of the bed, they were full. I finally found a few empty drawers in the armoire with the TV. I also could not find a closet door that would open. I eventually figured out there were two rods to hang clothes on on either end of the armoire. I believe the lovely hostess should've told us that there were clothes in our room and where we could hang or put ours clothes away. I found it off putting and quite odd to have someone else's clothes in the furniture. I've since asked other friends and family and they too agree that is quite odd. Anyway, the breakfast in the morning was delicious. Lovely spread. Apparently, you can arrange for dinner at the home, but you have to let the innkeepers know in advance. The house is chock full of items for decoration and has a tiny little gift shop where I did purchase some private label Earl Grey tea that's quite yummy. As a very nice touch they do have complementary sodas, water, and snacks for the guests. One can also purchase wine, if desired. There is also a coffee bar and tea bar. I was so pleased to see a tea bar because so few places have that. My only small issue with that is that there's no milk available--only in the mornings when the coffee bar has their half-and-half out. I didn't realize they have "operating" hours. The innkeepers are available until 9 at night, unless an emergency. I finally figured that out on a card they left in the room on the bureau with fresh water. It's about a seven minute ride to the actual Town of Granville. The town is a must see! The Whit's ice cream is delicious. All in all, it's a lovely place, except for the fact that I had that issue with putting my clothes away.

Since I can't get into a tub, I asked for a shower bench or chair. I was actually told it was *my* responsibility to bring one! I told them no--I rented a roll-in shower, so it is their responsibility to provide an accessible setup. When I mentioned that the situation felt unsafe and that I'd be forced to sue if I got hurt, they kicked me out of the hotel. No other hotels in the area had an accessible room available, so I had to drive 30 miles in the opposite direction just to find a place to stay. I've been emailing back and forth with the General Manager since it happened. He literally told me to get out of his hotel, asked "who did I think I was," and told me I "must be privileged." Yes, I have all of this in writing over email! The front desk agent was actually very nice and tried her best to help, but the management is ridiculous. I've been so upset about this for days. Corporate and the helpline have been useless--they just told me I have to take it up with the specific hotel to rectify it. It feels like we have no rights at all. I have officially filed an ADA violation with both the Department of Justice (DOJ) and Ohio ADA Non-Compliance. So far, I've only received an automated confirmation that they received it. People need to know how disabled travelers are being treated! by the way GM after I said in email if I got hurt because I felt unsafe I would sue, while sitting at a restaurant after we left hotel to eat dinner. Emailing him back and forth he said I was being abusive to the nice girl at the desk. I wasn't even at the location. I had witnesses the whole time and I was not and no reason to be. She was very kind and doing the best she could.
