This place!! I love it! These are the best pierogies I've ever had! I love to stop in when I make a Saturday morning run the public market. I mean who can go wrong with potato filled goodness smothered in sour cream onions and bacon. Yummy! I will say I haven't tried anything else on the menu( which is sad) but it looks good. If you are in the mood for a great breakfast come to Cherry's at the Rochester Public Market. The service is friendly, the food in inexpensive and very tasty. The Polish plate is my go to when my wife and I venture out. Perogies, polish sausage, and a Potato pancake. It can't be beat. read more

Polish food at its finest? Hm... I don't know about that but the pierogies are pretty good. I lived in Ukraine for 2 years and ate my fair share of varenyky (the same thing as pierogies)- a lil dumpling stuffed with a variety of things (potatoes, liver, cheese, cabbage, etc). I was ready for a potato pancake and some pierogs. $4 for each. I was a little shocked at how much oil arrived on my plate with the pierogs (theirs are stuffed with potato and cheese). It was almost pierogs were swimming in the oil. Kinda gross, but it didn't stop me from destroying them. I believe I got about 7-8 lil dumplins. The potato pancakes were tasty and served with sour cream and applesauce. This is a nice alternative for a snack at the public market. read more

I love the market. I bleed the market ! I have missed maybe 2 Saturdays in the last year. The Union Street ladies recognize me when I come in for my $1 breads, the cheese guys know me, my banana guy busts my chops. I love get my groceries there but I also love having breakfast there, there is 8 or 9 places making breakfast sandwiches when the market is running but I had never been to Cherry's. No real reason, maybe because they are on the end near the Railroad St entrance? Maybe because I have my favorites at this point. I can't say for sure. Last weekend I was hungry and I decided this was going to be my week to try Cherry's, and I did. I have been trying to mull over my experience since then, thinking about it. Sadly, it was the worst breakfast sandwich I have ever gotten at the market. Even sadder it isn't just like oh it was and 8 but the rest are 9's and 10s. There are some stellar sandwiches but Cherry's fell far far short of stellar. I didn't get sick from it and it didn't taste bad exactly, so there is that I suppose. I walked up to the counter and I was impressed with the variety of options on the menu. Crepes, French Toast, sandwiches. The prices are pretty fair as well, I think the French Toast runs about $2. The Breakfast sandwich was $3 which is about the base cost of most of the sandwiches at the market. I think they range up to like $3.50 or $4. Giordano Imports offers a $3/$3.50 breakfast bagel with imported spanish goat cheese, an egg and porchetta ham. Union street serves up a monster sandwich for around $3.50. Now as I was hoping Cherry's serves up their breakfast sandwich with the option of Polish Sausage!! It sounded fantastic and I awaited it eagerly. Then I just kind of awaited it. Then I was just waiting. Finally I was annoyed and just wanted my freckin sandwich. 15 minutes isn't forever, but it's way longer then you should be waiting for eggs and meat to cook on a grill. Zimmerman's can you make you a waffle with 2 eggs and bacon in less time than that. So I sat down and snapped a picture of my sandwich. My very small sandwich. With A hair in it. With a piece of sausage so small that I am not sure you can call it sausage, maybe a Vienna Sausage. Seriously it was maybe 2 inches long and as thin or thinner than your average breakfast sausage link. IMO if you're serving sausage on a sandwich it needs to be butterflied open, even then this thing would have been really freckin' small. As for the hair, it was in three such a way and I was hungry enough to pull it out and keep going, at least I saw it before I bite into it. In regards to the size... It may give Giordano's a run for their money as far as small sandwiches go but the imported ham and goat cheese take Giordano's to a whole other level of deliciousness. I'll take quality or quantity, both have their place, that was not this situation. Someone sitting at the same picnic table as I had ordered the sausage with onions and it didn't look to bad, but the breakfast sandwich is not something I can recommend. I may give Cherry's another go down the road but the are very far down the totem pole compared to everyone else I have tried, and I have tried everyone else. read more

Cherry's European is a great spot for a quick breakfast or brunch while you're shopping at the market, or let's be honest here, it's worth the trip alone if you're craving pierogi. Speaking of which, try the pierogi for a mere 5$ and you will not be disappointed! Cherry's offers the smaller-sized pierogi which I prefer, due to a better dough-filling ratio than the larger pierogi. They are pan-fried to perfection with the right amount of onion and butter topping, and served with a generous dollop of sour cream for extra indulgence. It's always delicious, but especially so after a night of drinking. Other menu items are decent, such as the crepes, potato pancakes, and french toast which for only 2$, are a bargain for a toddler breakfast. The staff are always really friendly and the prices are good, plus it never seems to be as crowded as some of the other stands (hello empanada stop), so we frequently eat here at the market. The quality has remained consistent, at least for the last 10 years or so that we've frequented this stand. read more

Unique Polish food at its Finest! All of the European food is homemade and its in the taste.

Everytime my daughter and I visit the Public Market we go here for a breakfast sandwich. We always leave there satusfied.

I look forward to every weekend to start my day off with a fantastic breakfast sandwich from cherrys and after some shopping at the public market, i have a great polish lunch (Pierogi, Cabbage Rolls, and/or Crepes). Cherry's...you complete me! The owner/chef that owns the place is the hardest working man I have ever seen. He truly puts his heart and soul into every meal he prepares.
