This is the type or place where old people talk about their trauma. DONT TRY TO BEFRIEND THE WORKERS!!! Ok so you want my honest review so my grandma brother and I walk in in this depressed college guy looks at us and mumbles something. I said he keeps on mumbling it over and over again and then he starts talking and he was like sit right there so we did! Did this lady who looks like she would work at a diner keeps refilling my water. my grandma comes here a lot and she like knows this lady's name by heart she's all nice and trying to talk to her and the lady is just like so cold and grumpy. When we were about to leave, I needed to use the laboratory and this scary photo of Elvis Presley stares me down while I take a pee. So that I finish peeing and my grandma's paying and then I spot a bowl of dumb dumb suckers and I took about 10 and nobody noticed. So if you want to make your life even worse, make sure to stop at Cheryl's

Pretty packed for a Thursday morning, but the service was quicker than we expected! Nice, cozy hometown breakfast spot that was suggested by our hotel. My French toast was crispy on the edges and cooked to perfection, not overly sweet but just right! Everyone loved their food, including my toddler and her kids pancake!

Came here due to my family being from Lansing and I was trying to find places that are the mid point for us. and First of all, the food is huge for the price. It took about 15 minutes to be sat but once we were sat, it took about 15 minutes for the food to come out. Service was prompt and very professional . The seating itself is kind of cramped, you can tell the place is busy so that make use of all available space they can. Everything was hot, fresh and delicious. This place is a gem. Well worth the 40 minute drive for two days worth of food!

Cheryl's was ok. The service was really nice and fast. We drove by early on a Saturday, and every spot was full, so we decided to run errands and come back later. It was a good choice because the rush had died down. I tried the French toast cinnamon roll. Did not need a full portion. I also got a side of bacon. I wasn't really impressed with the food. It was all right. The potions were huge, but this isn't a place I was inspired to want to come back and try other menu items. It falls in the category with other average coney islands or diners.

Cheryl's is always full with a wait but it's so worth it and the wait is usually not very long! Fast, great service and the waitresses will frequently walk around refilling coffee which is nice. Everything I've tried here is amazing! Best casual breakfast spot around.

Classic diner vibes with generous portions, fast service and great tasting breakfast. Quickly sat on a Saturday morning. Eggs are XL, potatoes taste like real potatoes (rare these days!) and a huge portion of bacon. The highlight for me also included the b&g. These were very good - dense biscuit, seasoned gravy with sausage chunks. Coffee was OK, not too acidic, the diner style mug was the selling point. Will definitely return to try other menu items.

Nestled among trees where Spencer ends at Old US 23, Cheryl's welcomes you with it's rock exterior, metal roof and a cone roof over the entrance. It's a bustling business, so expect to compete with your neighbors to be heard in the front part of the dining room where you'll likely be sitting very close to other patrons. The rear dining room is noticeably quieter with tables spaced a little further apart. We were here for breakfast around 11a.m. on a Saturday, and there was no wait. Our server was very nice and attentive. Bussers cleared empty dishes quickly. My Greek skillet was excellent after adding some salt and pepper. I could have easily split this with someone. Unless you really need it, I'd skip hot tea since you get a 10¢ Lipton tea bag for nearly $3. I also can't recommend the cinnamon roll French toast. While it looks delectable, it's so dense that is off-putting. If you're always cold, request that you not sit near the front door during Michigan's colder months Watch out for the 3% fee on top of your bill if you use your credit card! They won't tell you ahead of time and then they'll point to a sticker the size of an index card on the wall behind the register and apologize that the sticker isn't bigger. I will never return to a business that does this and doesn't tell you before they ring you up, so I deducted one star for this. So if that doesn't bother you, consider this a four star restaurant, and I'm willing to bet you'll enjoy your meal!

The entire staff was helpful, but the MVP was the hostess who supplied us with lollipops and helped to move all of our stuff to a booth when one became available. The entire table LOVED the truffle fries. I'll be thinking about those for a few days. The Nashville sliders were great too. We brought home a Smokehouse pizza. It was delicious at home, so I know it would be even better there. We are new to the area, and this was our first time stopping in. You already won us over! The menu offers a lot of delicious options, and both my husband and our friend loved the Buttermilk Fried Chicken. I ordered the Salmon, which was okay. The Spanish Coffee was one of the best I've had. Unfortunately, the biggest disappointment was how my food allergies were handled. I had included my dietary restrictions in our reservation and also called the restaurant the night before to make sure they could accommodate me. I was reassured after they checked with the kitchen that most items on the menu could be modified to work within my restrictions. Based on that conversation, I felt comfortable keeping our reservation. Since we were dining with others for a birthday celebration, I had hoped the information from my reservation and phone call would have been communicated to our server so I wouldn't need to go through all of my restrictions again at the table. Instead, I had to explain everything during dinner. Because the restaurant is extremely loud and the tables are packed closely together, our server had to stand across the table from me, which meant having to discuss my allergies loudly in front of our entire party and the surrounding tables. It was an uncomfortable and awkward situation. What was most frustrating, however, was then being told that my options were essentially limited to a protein and green beans. This was a far cry from what I had been told the night before that the kitchen could modify most items on the menu to accommodate me. I completely understand that not every restaurant can accommodate every allergy or dietary restriction, and I don't expect them to. My concern is that I specifically called ahead for this reason and relied on the information I was given. Had I been told beforehand that my options would be so limited, we simply would have chosen another restaurant where I could enjoy a nice meal along with everyone else for my husband's birthday. For anyone dining with significant food allergies or restrictions, I would recommend getting very specific information about what can actually be accommodated before making a reservation.

Our party of 6 arrived about 130 pm. The outdoor seating area was open and bustling. The indoor space was less than half full and we had no wait to get a seat except that no one was at the hostess station. The bartender did greet us and another group relatively quickly but this was the only thing that was quick this visit. Without going into great detail, we were seated for about 10 minutes before a waitress came to the table. We ordered drinks and it took almost 20 minutes for them to start to arrive and 30 minutes to get all 6 drinks. It took over an hour to get food and the entire visit was almost 2 1/2 hours. Mind you this is an upscale bar not a multicourse fine dining establishment. We were told that they were understaffed due to people not showing up but from what I could see they had 2 servers and a bar tender for about 15 active tables. Our waitress, while nice, was inattentive, often leaving us with empty drinks. The food was as good as we have come to expect as were the drinks when we could get them. I will say the chicken tenders my son ordered were over cooked but still tasty. Normally, I would rate this location as 4 stars but not this trip. Again, I hope this was just an off day but service like this again will result in losing our business going forward.

The cauliflower is okay, kind of bland with the hummus. The chicken tendies is okay with the sriracha BBQ. My piece was gristly for me. :( The truffle fries are good. The Maitake mushrooms are good.
