Around the block from my brother-in-law's place, it's a quick easy stop on our way to see him. When we're in town we come here because of the convenience. They serve up a terrific individual bagel with or without butter. It's the kind of shoppe that will have cream cheeses but not schmears. A while back I had a great special consisting of a bagel sandwich and cup of soup for like $6.50. A pretty nice deal, however, the soup was decent and the sandwich rather bland. Similar to heat and serve bake shoppe style. The service is great and the people very friendly and accommodating. A typical array of bagels that I believe they make on site. Extremely cute place with an excellent vibe! Bagels were extremely fresh and there was a line out the door. They had several "regular" customers who they already knew their names and orders and it gave a home-town vibe! Bagels & Bites is a standard bagel shop in Brighton, but it gets a lot of business, and it is typical to find long lines here in the morning. The bagels aren't the best I've ever had, but they are pretty good. There are a lot of different bagel and cream cheese flavors. It doesn't look like anything is made in-house. I ordered a breakfast sandwich and saw that the egg and meat were cooked in the microwave rather than on a stovetop. The corned beef sandwich was good and filling for lunch. Fragel sounds like something dirty. Maybe it's just me. Perhaps I love it so much because it goes against everything I believe in. Maybe this is just the cognitive dissonance talking, but this shallow fried, raisin cinnamon bagel, topped with cinnamon sugar may be worth a drive out to Brighton. It's also possible that I'm still just reeling from the surprise of this thing. Because on its face, it would seem to defy logic. For example, how can a crusty bagel, once fried, transform into something soft, doughy, and comforting? And how can it deliver the pleasure of a donut, yet still unmistakably taste like a bagel? But it does all of these things. And my first encounter with the form, is most definitely a five star experience. Unfortunately, I cannot say the same thing for the rest of the bagels in the case. Most of them were cooked to a color I consider to be underdone. On my visit, the poppy seeded ones looked like they had the best color. However, even then, the crust was underdeveloped. But that's okay. Because Bagels & Bites has fragels. One of these hot, sweet treats is going to be plenty. Just make sure to plan on sticking around for a couple of minutes to eat it at a table or at the counter by the window. First of all, you'll want to enjoy it when it's hot. Second, all that cinnamon sugar makes these a sticky and crumbly mess, and you wouldn't want that all over your car. Why have I never heard of these things before? And why doesn't everyone make them? Fragels have found a new convert, who will no longer scoff at the notion of raisins in bagels. I'm shook. read more

All the cream cheeses where wonderful, the chive was our fav but the strawberry was also great and tasted like fresh berries. Very convenient off the highway but you can tell it's more of a local place. They have their own bagels and cream cheese. I had a veggie sandwich toasted with hummus. It was very fresh and tasty.
