So disappointed with our first visit to Lynn's. While the food was expensive the taste was fine, however, we waited 30 minutes to get our meal. Even that could be tolerated since we were visiting with friends. But we barely finished eating our meal when someone came to our table and said, "I don't mean to rush you but I need this table." On the plus side - good decor, lots of unique menu choices for breakfast, food was high quality and did not skimp on the portions. On the minus side - I had the biscuits and gravy w eggs. My waitress was lovely, so I wish I could give a 5 star for her. I tipped her 20% as she was deserving. I came in by myself and was going to order a feta and Greek olive omelette. They didn't have Greek olives so the waitress suggested the veggie hash with feta on top. I thought that sounded wonderful. When I started eating my hash inwas disappointed because it was dry. I waitressed before and hate to complain. Figured that dish was a one and done. But then I realized there was only a few - and I mean a few - feta crumbles. I showed the waitress and she agreed and I asked for some more. She asked the cook for more, and the heavy set guy sitting at the bar (which I gather now was an owner), asked "did the cook not put any feta on?" I defended the cook and said that he did but there was barely any. He mumbled something about measurements under his breath. When I got my bill I was curious why one person was $28.00+ ..I did order some upgrades but it still sounded high. I asked the waitress when I saw "side of feta $2.99" "Did he make you charge me $2.99 for what should have been on my meal to begin with?!" She seemed embarrassed and said, "yes. I'm sorry." I told her "I'm not going to punish you - I know it wasn't your fault." I gave her 20%.... I walked over to the owner and I was very polite and calm, and said, "I own businesses so I understand the need to meet expenses, but it is bad business to charge a customer for wha they are already paying for." He replied, " well if you have 3 businesses you understand I can't give away free food." I said, "I'm not asking for free food. Just what I ordered." That's not good business to do to a customer. His response was "Don't tell me how to run my business and I won't tell you how to run yours. ". I responded back, " that's what customers do is give you feedback on practices. The food is awesome. Atmosphere is a nod to up north places. Kinda cramped in there. Its expensive, but it tastes great. I was upset by an extra tzatziki sauce costing 3.75 cents. Nice, friendly atmosphere and good service although the two waitresses had to wait on tables, bus the tables and run the register. They could hire more help. The food was a bit underwhelming. My French omelette was good but the rye toast was cold and seemed a bit stale. Hash browns were on the greasy side. My wife had the biscuits and gravy. They had a sweetness to them that she didn't really care for. I would probably give this place another chance but I'm not thinking it will be anytime soon. read more

First time at this restaurant and I was quite pleased with all aspects of the dining experience. We came in for Breakfast on a Saturday morning and the place was definately hopping due to the Farmers market that was going on at the same time which is pretty much just across from the restaurant which draws in a lot of customers into this restaurant at this time. Definately something to keep in mind if you are going to come here on a Saturday morning. Relative to the restaurant, it offers both indoor and outdoor dining options where we selected indoor dining due to the long wait to get seated outdoors. The indoor portion off the restaurant is very casual and has a diner vibe to it offering both counter seating along with seated table dining. Relative to the menu, the restaurant has a fairly large set menu for breakfast along with a very large and diverse daily specials that were highlighted on two grease boards on the walls inside the restaurant. When you take into account the large diverse selection of breakfast menu options they pretty much have all the bases covered here offering something for almost every taste out there. For our breakfast both my son and I went with the daily specials as they in our opinion looked much more tasty/exciting than the traditional set menu where in his case he went with the California Omellet and I went with the Pecan Caramel Waffle that came with choice of meat (I chose the bacon which was a thicker cut and tasty) ) and a side of eggs. Both dishes were well made and tasty and in the case of my waffle with sides it was amazing how much food I got for $12.99, especially during these inflationary times and shrinking portion sizes as it was enough for two people where I ended up sharing with my granddaughter. For my drink I had their house coffee which was quite good in its own right where my only minor complaint with my meal was the size of the coffee cup which was quite small in my opinion. Fortunately though the waitress was very efficient on topping off my cup where I never saw the bottom of it and she even gave us a gratis cup to go without being asked. Definately a nice touch here. Lastly the service was very good during our dining experience, where the staff was very friendly with great follow up especially on the coffee refills which I view as a key aspect of great service when dealing with breakfast. Overall an excellent dining experience where we will definitely be returning in the near future especially if we are going to the farmers market again on Saturdays! read more

I finally tried this place out and I wish I had sooner. The place was busy but service was fast so the wait wasn't too horrible. They have really fair prices, nice staff, and the food is amazing. There are tons of specials to choose from and they have a regular menu. There are almost too many options and it overwhelmed me! That is the reason for the 4 star. Sometimes too many items is a bad thing. I like options, but when there are too many I feel overwhelmed and unsure of my order. They defenitely shine in the area of French toast. I had a half order with a side of bacon and it was plenty. I kept it simple by not picking of of the delicious looking special French toasts. Me time I'll splurge! read more

What happened to Lynn's?! The hostess was so rude and even snapped at the guests behind us in line because they were waiting for their entire party to arrive. The server forgot half our food and every item came out individually, the black table was so nasty my daughter drew a heart with her finger. How disappointed we were in this visit. Started off with the gentleman at the counter indicating they don't seat until all the party is in the restaurant (no signage posted about that) ok fine. Took over 50 minutes to get an order of breakfast (on a Sunday) ..ok fine. Last straw was that we were served burnt blue berry pancakes and burnt chocolate chip pancakes which were too burnt to even eat. At this point we gave up and paid the bill and left. My visit to Lynn's was a trip down memory lane as it was a go to destination for breakfast going back to the 80's with mouth watering memories of the cinnamon raisin French toast. Having moved from the area long ago, I found the Brighton area to be very, very busy. I certainly understand change, but I felt that some of the charming aspects of what was a sleepy little town when I moved there in 1980 had been somewhat tarnished. However, finding out that Lynn's was still in business made me want to take the time for a good breakfast... which I did not get. I got a GREAT breakfast! And, making my visit more enjoyable was meeting the new owner, Betty, a long tim employee, who probably waited on me and my young family way back when! Her vision of what she wants her business to be, her passion and pride in what she is doing and her knowing who she, what her business is about and not losing site of where she came from jumped out at me as soon as I walked in the door. This became more evident as I told her my family's history with this establishment and the area and as she shared her history at Lynn's with me. This is a "must stop" if you want a great meal and if you want to feel like you mean something to the business that you have chosen to visit. This breakfast experience, thus far, is the highlight of my travels this week. read more

Awful service extremely slow. Was one of the best spots in Brighton for a great breakfast but not so much anymore. Took over an hour to get served breakfast. Waffle came out like a brick and begrudgingly had to send it back and still waited 10 minutes for it to be delivered back to the table. Not coming back anytime soon. Sad day in Brighton. read more

HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE here. I am new to the area and came in once, without my kids and remember waiting a long time, but the food was ok so I let it go. Came back this Sunday with my infant and four year old son before plans to head to the playground next door. Although we were sat almost immediately, after 25 minutes and some terrible coffee, we still didn't have food. My son was starving and the baby was starting to lose it. When I finally asked the waitress for a status update and she said there were still two tickets ahead, I made the call to leave. I mentioned it to the owner and he was HORRIBLE. Said "this isn't a fast food restaurant" and I should expect it when I come into a full restaurant just because I have kids doesn't mean I should be given special priority. Well I didn't ask for special prior, and most restaurants, who happily offer to put your kids order in first because they understand. He said all of us as is the food coming out was something special, like a Michelin star restaurant. It is very basic stuff. I haven't eaten in New York City diners that were better than this place. It's not know how to run his business. And the fact that they've had a sign in the window for more than three weeks, doesn't seem like anybody wants to work there either. some kindness and skills would give it a pass. read more

Well it's been a while since I ate here. They have been busy in my absence! Food quality greatly improved and now serves best breakfast around. Getting hard for this former regular to find a seat. The increased business is well deserved! I am a pancake fanatic (don't judge, we all have a weakness ). There pumpkin pancakes are delicious with a hearty serving and actually taste some pumpkin! Bacon is on the thicker side ( can't see thru ). Breakfast burrito's and inlets have been well received by my co-diners Time to give it another try !! read more

We haven't tried Scotty Simpson's yet but we did have the opportunity to try Lynn's for breakfast. My wife ordered an omelette with spinach and cheese, hash browns, and toast. I had the Cinnamon Raisin Bread Sampler with a side of bacon, my mom-in-law had the baked oatmeal and my FIL had the Hobo Breakfast. Overall it was an AOK experience. The restaurant was clean, reasonably full, prices were fair and service was great. The food was just OK. My pancake and cinnamon raisin French toast was pretty good but if you really want great French toast you need to try The Breakfast Club in town. It ruined me for any lesser presentation. I'd try Lynn's first if you have the choice. The bacon I ordered was sort of thick cut but I've had thicker cut from Kirkland or Aldi. My plate also came with eggs. They came over-easy with nice runny yolks. All in all my breakfast was pretty good. I might have ordered differently in retrospect. My wife's omelette had the ingredients laid onto the omelette after it was set and then folded over. Personally I'm a fan of everything being mixed in while the eggs cook so you get all the flavors in each bite. She liked her eggs. Her toast was standard white bread, toasted on one side and buttered. The Hobo breakfast is no frills but it looked filling and tasty and came with a slice of unmelted American on top. I would like to try their house specialty Baked Oatmeal. it looked pretty fantastic. Again, everything was pretty AOK but along the lines of standard diner fare. If you're looking for a quick bite for breakfast this might be your spot. I'd like to try their lunch menu which might be more my speed but on to the next breakfast spot. read more
