We've been twice. The first sales rep left at the end of 2021. The second is more helpful. They have inventory and quality issues like everyone else. One RV was new from the factory and the control panel would only blink red. The shower door wouldn't open. This is likely pandemic related with QC issues at the factory. My GPS finds this place using the street number and Hwy 3 vice MD-3. read more

BEWARE-CAVEAT EMPTOR; There is NO service department at this location. Chesaco RV should NOT be listed as an "Authorized Service facility" for factory recalls or maintenance of any kind! When we purchased our Motorhome (from a concierge service in New Jersey) I tried to find a local company to service our coach. When I called Chesaco RV, Joppa, MD I was told, and I quote: "... we only service RV's that we sell!" Fast-forward to last month when I was alerted to a recall on our coach. I was referred to Chesaco as the closest Authorized Dealer. I called the Gambrills location (approx. 20 miles away) and asked for service, apparently, I was forwarded to the Joppa facility. I explained the recall and was told that I had an appointment for July 15th at 10:00am Imagine my surprise when I arrived at the Gambrills location only to be told I had no appointment! They checked with Joppa and said that I made the appointment there! I did NOT! Joppa is 50 miles away on the other side of Baltimore! I was not a happy camper. They told me that if I left my coach they would order the parts and contact me when the parts arrived to schedule the work. I checked every day for over a week. Each and every time I called, I was told the service person was on a call and would call me back. That never happened! So, I called Camping World Manassas, VA and started the process there... I explained my experience with another dealer and needed help. They promptly filed a claim with Forest River, which was approved. This proved that Chesaco RV never did anything! Forest River would never approve TWO claims for the same vehicle. I went to Chesaco and told them that I was taking my coach to another dealer. They said they "... already submitted a claim and ordered the parts!" Simply not possible! After a very short discussion, I asserted that I wanted my coach. They were NOT happy but did bring it around and left in a huff. I drove my coach home and will NEVER return. Not that it changes anything, except to warn my fellow veterans! I am a retired service-disabled Marine Corps veteran. I strongly recommend that you NEVER do business with this company. read more

We bought our RV in October 2019, however the COVID Pandemic hit have we have had very little chance to use our RV. We found that Chesaco in Gambrills does not have a service department, you cannot get it serviced at Leo's Vacation Center if you bought it from Chesaco since they do not have a service department. Every time we need help we have to take our unit up to Joppa for service. In addition the sales staff keep changing around so fast we cannot get anyone to help us. Don't know how to say how pleased we were with Chesaco RV: the people, the efficiency, the knowledge, the service. Background: we just bought a new Winnebago RV in Alabama and had a door malfunction on our first trip. Our coach door wouldn't stay locked and was opening on the highway so we had to tie it closed. Our local Alabama dealer contacted Chesaco RV in Gambrills and the next morning we were taken right in for service. Deana, the General Manager, and Billy from Service, dropped what they were doing and diagnosed the multiple problems. They were able to correct this issues that same morning, recentering the lockIng mechanism, adjusting the striker, screen latch and hinges. They even helped us with resetting an outside cargo door hinge and gave us incredibly important advice on avoiding future problems with the auto-leveling system that we were unaware of. The amount of time spent, and level of attention and service given to us was amazing. We didn't buy our vehicle from them or from someone in their business chain and will likely not be repeat customers, so I was both indebted and impressed. We have owned other RVs and have never experienced this level of top down service and detailed knowledge at all levels of management and employees. Even Rick, in Sales, spent time making sure we were comfortable and offering advice. He looked us and gave us a Winnebago contact number to contact them directly if we had future problems on the road. This level of personal service puts to shame the larger companies, such as Mercedes, with whom I have interacted with recently. If I were a local, this is where I would buy and service my next RV. read more

Ordered Unit from Chesaco at RV show Fall 2021- we didn't want unit from show, told 8-10 months - we were ok with that. They called before end of 2021 said our unit in, I asked about the wait time. Told it came in early. I called back and asked directly was this unit from the show. They said yes. Unit from show had damage, said we'd prefer to wait. No contact for months, early spring we called. Our sales person got fired - actually mistreated a colleague of mine. Got new sales person, asked if our $5k deposit they had for over 6 months now could be applied on another unit they had on lot. After several days they called back and said yes. We went and spent hours on the lot. Picked out a NEW $160k unit, signed the papers. They called said it was ready. Pickup date - cashiers check in hand, start the 3 hour walk through, they open the hood - RODENT damage everywhere in the engine compartment. They said they would send it back to BMW for repair and wanted us to wait, we said no, what damage we could see was horrific, BMW would fix engine compartment but not check actual motorhome mechanics. Agreed to transfer our deposit to another unit. Spend 5 hours on the lot debating. Nothing. Asked for refund. Took MONTHS finally got it. They called 6-8 weeks later, said new units were in. Found several other units, they wouldn't come down in price as they did at the show, so we settled on a less expensive unit. Test drive the unit, lots of noise. Turns out slide is faulty. They promise to fix. We start the paperwork process, another $5k down, never finish the paperwork. Finance guy was condescending, rude, chauvinistic and tried to force us to sign finance agreement for 3% higher than I saw was the average going rate. Flat out refused. Told them we had to talk about this and would get back to them. We leave. They run our credit card - $5k Email less than 48 hours later to cancel the purchase. The next day they run our credit. 2 days later head finance person calls, asks why we are cancelling, said he can't approve the refund, has to go to the higher ups. That was June 2022, it's now 4 months later and NO REFUND! No fewer than 6 emails we've sent, no response. Called, they won't take our calls. If you are in the market for rodent infested, damaged units from an unprofessional company Chesaco is the place for you! I recently bought a new RV from Chesaco and would never recommend anyone else going there. Their customer service is horrible, they blame everyone else for their issues and do not take responsibility for anything. Here are some of the issues if have had in the first two weeks of owning an RV purchased there: 1. RV was not ready when we arrived for Delivery causing significant delays. They would not take responsibility for having the wrong date. 2. Technicians did not really seem to know how to deliver the RV, they could not rectify issues efficiently 3. Very poor quality of product: Fresh Water gauge was not working, microwave bracket not fasten securely, bench seat support bracket broken 4. Owner's manual not provided. 5. Furnace was not tested, resulted in significant "first time" burning smell bad enough to set of smoke alarm. 6. No personnel were available for an entire week to fix critical issues 7. They never were accountable for any of the issues, always someone else to blame. Find somewhere else to make this significant investment. read more

We purchased a unit from them in February 2023. They were very efficient during the sales but after they had our money, their customer service was terrible. They asked us to sign a 30 day promise which said they would make adjustments or minor repairs on a priority basis. However our unit sat at their service headquarters for over 3 weeks and nothing was done. They did not even fix a significant recall which applied to the awning unintentionally deploying while driving. We called several times and were promised callbacks which never occurred. We called Kenny Main, our salesman, and James Chevas at the selling dealership and only received the promise of callback. Still waiting. We finally set up an appointment at another dealership to have the work done. I would not recommend Chesaco RV. read more

We bought a Rockwood ESP popup from Chesaco in February. It was a 2021 model so the price was very good. Upon arrival we found the trailer was in good condition however the door wouldn't fit well with fairly large gaps on each side. They said it was because the trailer wasn't sitting level but after an hour of raising and lower corners they were unable to reduce the gaps. At this point they were getting rather testy that we were wasting their time. At that time we decided to take the trailer due to the good price. In addition to the door, it was missing the fan/light combo, spatula, outside hoses, and bed heater controls. They created the dreaded "we owe" list but have never seen any of the items. In Late Dec of 2018 come back to find the motorhome without power. No biggie right? I pull the fuse box panel off to expose the inside and find visible heat damage caused by some sort of arc that looks like it created a small fire. Basically the unit is dead and not only useable but possibly dangerous. I immediately contact the manufacturer who worked with me to find an "authorized and recommended" dealer to take the MH to. I emphasize the need for expeditious turn around due to my living conditions. They direct me to Chesaco RV in Gambrills MD. I call them to set up a drop off date. Mind you this is January, 2019. I am told the EARLIEST drop off time will be March since they are backed up and don't have the ability to hold a unit. Shaking my head but accepting what they tell me on face value I am forced to purchase a storage lot at $160.00/ month. March comes around and I contact Chesaco to confirm my appointment one week out. I am told they cannot take me and that it will be around another month. So I continue to my storage contract. End of March comes and I finally bring it in. I describe the issue, show them pictures and also let them know that the heating pad from one of the holding tanks has come loose and that there are gouges in the floor caused by something in the slide. "No problem" we will get on it and let you know. I request a weekly check in/update call and am told again, no problem. Feeling good about what is happening I go about my life. I also contact my insurance company in case a total loss claim has to be made due to possible irreparable damage to the unit internal electrical system. Insurance relates they will send out an adjuster to Chesaco RV No calls the first and second week. I call on the third week, several times as no one returns my calls or is willing to give me an update. June passes. Calls to the manufacturer to intervene amount to nothing. Insurance company calls and relates they were denied entry onto the property to inspect the MH. They relate they will continue to try. First week of July as I am taking a little vacay and driving up to OH I have a heated telephone discussion with one of the managers. I complain that I am not being kept in the loop as to why it is such a problem to get feedback from their service department and that it seems my issues are not being taken care of at all. At this point he tells me the only thing they are waiting on is the heating pad and that all other things are fixed. July passes with no updates or call backs. My wife even calls and gets exactly the same treatment as me. No information, waiting on a part and finally that if the service is so bad come and get your RV. Calls to the manufacturer to intervene amount to nothing. August passes, no calls, no returned calls and I come back from a work assignment. Waiting for me is a registered mail that when I open it is a letter from Chesaco RV. It relates that my motorhome is at risk of being auctioned off and that I am liable for storage fees amounting to well over $1000.00. I have to take off the very next day for another assignment. There I contact the HQ of Chesaco and seem to make headway with a regional manager and his secretary who does a good job at downplaying the entire incident. But I never get a call back. I attempt to call Chesaco in Gambrills and interestingly when I ask to speak to a manager the secretary asks who I am, I tell her, she says "Oh" and I am hung up on. This occurs two more times and then my phone calls are not even picked up. Halfway through my work assignment a manager calls me and coldly relates that I can come and pick up my RV without any charges. They just want my RV off their lot and relate they are simply not going to repair it due to my "attitude". He related he told my wife to come and pick up the RV and since we didn't they were going to auction it off. Other than the registered mail I received I did not receive one, not one other form of correspondence telling me this. Late Sep 2019, I get back from assignment, take time off get to Chesaco to pick up my unit. Upon arrival I am treated like absolute trash. My unit is driven out to me and I am told to vacate the premises. My rear driver side tire is visibly low, my check engine light is on and there is absolutely no paperwork given to me regarding any work done or not done. NOTHING. I requested to have my tire inflated as it has to be unsafe to drive the 30 miles to the new repair location. They refuse and call the police to report me. Being LE myself I am not concerned so I pull out my little portable inflator and comence to filling up my rear tires. No record of the time or effort or lack thereof regarding my unit which has been there for almost SEVEN MONTHS!!!!! It as if it never happened. No record with the mfgr as they were even blown off by the dealership. Chesaco RV in Gambrills MD is the worse of the worse and I beg folks not to to give them your business. This has been the worst experience in ever owning a vehicle or RV. Buyers beware, if your unit has warranty issues expect a 3-5 month turn around. Yes you read that correct, I have brought mine in so many times that it is now out of warranty and I've missed out on a lot of trips. If you buy a unit from them make sure they can perform warranty work on it. Im now pursuing a lemon law case for the unit. Nothing like the management not paying for the maintenance out of overhead to lose over 6 figures on a lawsuit. read more

I called to schedule an appointment for my trailer to get the Maryland state inspection. I was told that their phones were getting "mapped" and that they could not schedule any appointments. They did not even try to find another solution, just told me to call a different location in another part of the state. Poor customer service. read more

Purchased a new Holiday Rambler in Fall of 2017. Had multiple warranty issues. Took 2 Month's to get in for service. Unit sat for 1 month with virtually nothing being done. Outright lied to concerning progress and work that never took place. Admitted they were too busy to work on my unit. I had to repo it so I can have another dealer repair. Purchased a 2017 Coachman Leprechaun. Had issues with getting service. It was my first purchase for a motor home and they provided very poor instructions. They owed me a fresh water sensor and when I went to get it they claimed it had to be done in 30 days of purchase. I cannot find anything stating that policy in the provided paper work provided. Don't know where to begin, just don't do it. They had a stellar deal on my RV, 10k below anything I could find on the east coast. And that's were it starts, sales experience was okay (not great), but the customer service after you leave is basically non-existent. I did my 'shake down' trip immediately after purchase and it took 6 weeks to get a service appointment. This was after they said in first 30 days you can bring it in anytime for that first fix. They kept it three weeks, which I thought was horrible, turns out that was fast. Spent a good summer in the RV, making my list for the next warranty service of little things that did not effect using, but still needed to be fixed as this was a brand new rig and shouldn't have any issues. So that brings me to today. I took my RV in for service before the 10k warranty ran out on the 'box'. I started in September calling dealership. They don't return phone calls, left 5 messages every other day for a two weeks, finally spoke to manager to get my service appointment. Today was my appointment, that I schedule over a month ago. Only minor issues to be addressed and all should be covered under warranty (I think). Get there and they have new forms, which I don't like or agree with (absolving any responsibilities for any accidents that might occur while they have my rig); so if you run into the dumpster with my rig, you want me to pay for it under my insurance, with my deductible. If you are moving another rig and hit mine, again, I am supposed to claim this under my insurance. I DONT THINK SO! I understand the theft and vandalism as they are not your fault, but the wording on the disclaimer was very bad and basically if it came down to it, I would be screwed. Next was a deposit of $140 for diagnostic checkup for the problems, this will be refunded if all work falls under warranty, but I was not told about this, I was not charged the first two times I brought in rig, so I was surprised and not prepared. I recently had some major expenses and just was not prepared to let them sit on my $140 for three to four weeks. Ultimately I did not have a choice, or else they would not do the work. Here is where the customer service is so great I almost choked (just kidding). So I was having a conversation with the locations' sales manager (Jordan) about my issues and I was not happy, he showed no concern or care for the situation and basically told me either sign the forms or we don't work on your RV. No I spent over 50k on this RV and feel like I should have a little more support from the place I purchased it. Apparently Not! So after tense moments I stated that I would be leaving a review on yelp, well he lost his cool after that (not that he had any to begin with) and basically then refused to take my vehicle, even if I signed the forms and give him deposit. Ok drama unfolds with words between both of us, he finally agrees to run my credit card for deposit, doesn't notice that I did not initial the form and wrote 'do not agree' next to the boxes I did not sign. I leave (mind you I didn't sign the papers) and complain the entire way home the this was just not right. Several hours later I get a phone call from Sales Manager, you didn't sign the papers. I told him he is right. He stated they would not touch my Rv with the papers signed. I told him I would be by tomorrow. That was it, not that I would sign anything etc. I went back today and picked my RV up and will not let them service it. I asked for a copy of the waiver, was refused a copy. I was told the manager had my file and he would mail me a copy. I will hold my breath, NOT! They know something is wrong with their forms or they wouldn't have shut me down so quick. I have thought about calling my lawyer (yes I have one) or calling 7 in your Side, because I think this was illegal and totally shady, but probably won't because they have already taken up too much of my precious time that I should be camping and enjoying life. Hope this saves some other person from dealing with this complete lack of customer service after a major purchase. Find someplace else to buy your RV. Chesaco will not stand behind what they sell. read more

We walked away with a beautiful motor home and a personal extension from both the sales rep and repair technician to assist us with any questions we may have. We were both also pleased with the timeliness of the sales and were able to drive off the lot with our new vehicle the same day :) I recommend stopping in and checking them out! read more

In summer 2020, we purchased a beautiful Jayco Class C at full sticker retail price (over $100k) from Chesaco RV. We were happy with the sales experience at first and we love the unit. However, from day #1, the console system with GPS/Bluetooth has NOT worked. For almost 2 years, we have tried resolving it with them. Chesaco RV repeatedly gives us all sorts of excuses as to why they cannot fix it or replace it (lack of "chip" or parts, or whatever). It is incomprehensible to me that this dealership does not accept responsibility for selling us a brand new RV with a non-working technology system in the modern era. I feel obliged to make potential customers know they are great when they want to make a sale. But beware if something goes wrong. We have lost confidence that they'll make it right despite our many attempts. Also, I posted the above review on Google as well. The dealership had the audacity to reply saying that they could not help us because "we refused to wait for parts and service." But that was an outright lie. Our unit is in the service facility and they emailed saying we need to pick it up or they will charge us storage fees!! We have literally been trying to get it resolved for almost 2 years. We have been waiting very patiently and doing everything asked of us. Yet every person we encounter says something different and points the finger at someone else. All we want is a properly working unit. It is a shame they have chosen the unethical route. read more

I'm an experienced backpacker and tent camper, but getting a little older now, and have young grandkids, so scoping out my options for moving into my first motor home. I've been driving by this lot for a while, so decided to stop. I'll admit it. I appreciate businesses that still know how to sell a product. I worked with Guv Mitchell, who met me with a big smile and a handshake. And not a fake one either. Dude is super friendly and answered every question I had, and taught me quite a bit, too. This guy fully knew his stuff. He took the time to learn about our camping style, and he was serious about matching us with the right RV. We focused on mid-size models, and they had a big selection. We spent a lot of time on the lot so we could really get a sense of what works for us. I like to thoroughly research products before laying down my money, so I'm used to getting the hard sell when I try to walk off the lot. Not here. Quite honestly, it was this kind of quality sales experience that will have me purchase from them when I'm ready to pull the trigger. Highly recommend. read more
