I dealt with Chris Veilleux while shopping for a vehicle, and unfortunately my experience was disappointing. Gouge, Gouge, Gouge, and Petty - Been a customer since 2013 - bought three VWs, and many thousands of dollars in service. You would think they might try to keep me as a customer. But no. [[HIGHLIGHT]]One of my cars was bought used and was supposed to come with two keys. They only gave me one - and said come back later and we can give you the second key. But they forgot (and I had no written IOU) so refused to give me the key. As if I was a liar trying to get a free key.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Mr. Fitzgerald died recently and the company became employee owned. They have abandoned Jack Fitzgeralds philosophy of low cost fair pricing and jacked their service fees. They wanted $471 as a diagnostic fee to check my blower fan. The fan is easily accessible right under the glove box - no way it should it cost that much to diagnose. Like I said - gouge. I brought my car in to have an oil change service done $240 where they state they'll check all the major systems. " Change engine oil and filter, check and top off all fluids, perform multi-point inspection, check brake system, check auto shift lock operation, check tire tread and depth and pressure, rotate tires, lubricate all latches and hinges, road test vehicle for proper operation" I told them my check engine light was on and I had failed emission test. I was charged $200 for them to read the code that it had a secondary air injection fault. Auto Zone would have done it for free. OR, I would have thought that telling me the reason the check engine light was on, would have been included in the "multi-point inspection." Also between taking my car from the front to the garage and back and the "road test" the vehicle travelled 2/10th of a mile. So perhaps they turned it around on a road and called that a "road test". Continually disappointed in this service center. Today had a Fast Lane service (battery swap) which was told without an appointment could take up to two days to service. But isn't the point of the Fast Lane service - QUICK service? I was more than willing to wait and told don't bother. Then when asking for a rental car (don't get me started on why they don't PROVIDE service cars - especially when you've purchased the vehicle from this same location) told they don't have any. Ok shuttle? Nope live too far away. Simply frustrating. If I was smarter I'd take my vehicle to a Quick Lube shop, get better service, better quality, best customer support and definitely pay less! Total glutton for punishment. Cannot convince myself to stay a Volkswagen owner - running out of loyalty points. *Update: added stars, service was quicker than estimated. Overall frustration was with the quality of check-in service. Could have chocked it up to person having a bad (in a customer service industry it can be tricky) but this isn't the first time customer support wasn't a priority (attitude is everything). As a lifelong VW owner, and a "only-take-your-car-to-the-dealer", this pains me. read more

Absolutely disgusting how I was treated, my car has a full factory warranty & they decided to get into a pissing match with another dealership over a serpentine belt that's been on my vehicle for 8k miles. I was forced to pay a diagnostic fee (that diagnostic was just 5 pictures with no parts or breakdown of what was actually wrong), on a vehicle with a factory warranty, in order to have my vehicle released. No estimate. No parts. No answers. Still charged. 10/10 do not recommend. Avoid this service center at all costs. read more

I had been dreading the car buying process and put it off for weeks. I finally, reached out to Bret Grant in regard to a Passat I saw online. Bret promptly replied and offered me a price I was happy with before I even got to the dealership. Upon my arrival, the receptionist was helpful, and Bret had already pulled the car up for us to test drive it. Bret was very knowledgeable and attentive (he was even working with another buyer, and we never felt neglected). We finalized our deal and did our signing with Luis, who was also great to work with. He was efficient and pleasant during our signing, and did not pressure us into buying additional warranties that we were not interested in. As I said I dreaded the car buying process, it normally feels long, tiresome, and frustrating. I have previously purchased from Honda of Annapolis and Toyota of Annapolis. My experience at Fitzgerald was completely opposite. It was quick, painless, and never did I feel pressured into buying anything. These things were important to me when buying the car. Purchased my Passat from the Annapolis Fitzgerald VW dealer. They were pleasant to work with and we reached a deal (trade-in included) where each side compromised a bit on the price. They transferred all my belongings from my old car to my new one and gave me spiffy VW tote bags to keep in the trunk. They emphasized whom I should call if I ever had an questions or problems. Several people sent me emails/letters thanking me for my business. A year later, I had a mysterious "check oil" sign display and they explained that, topped off my oil at no charge and all has been super. Their waiting area is comfy--they always have bottled water and snacks. Checkout through the cashier is prompt and friendly. I had been a long-time Buick owner, but after Buick stopped making sedans, it was time to change. I love my Passat--great control, comfort, and superb gas mileage on long trips. read more

Trying to get a Hitch installed on a 2020 Atlas. Parts tells me to get with service to see if it's already wired, which will save over $300 and about an hour of labor for them. Show up to get this done and I'm told there's a $75 fee for the inspection. Nickel and dime-type dealership for sure, especially when I'm about to spend $1,100 for a hitch installation. read more

In the beginning they were incredibly customer oriented. Initially, they sent us away with our vehicle claiming that it was fixed and reliable when it clearly was not. The mechanics were incompetent in dealing with our issue, as they continued to reassure us that it was an easy fix, when it was obvious that it was not okay. It became evident they didn't know how to diagnose and fix the problem and when we decided to move the vehicle to a different mechanic they became curt, dismissive and unhelpful. Will never go here again and would encourage others to take their cars somewhere else. read more

Purchased a used 2014 diesel Passat from this dealer. Developed fuel system problems after the first hot weather. Lost power and went into "limp mode" (coil light flashing, deceleration and can't get up to speed). This happened every time the vehicle got up to temperature or it was very hot outside, making it usable only for very short trips. This led to soot accumulation in exhaust parts. Two shops unable to repair, so took it to Fitz shop. Diagnosed with soot blockage and couldn't be "regenerated" so needed $2800 replacement. Then I get a call a few days later, saying there's another problem but they will cover the cost of replacement of high pressure fuel pump, supposedly another $3000 that they will cover. The lady literally waited for me to thank her, I said nothing waiting for an explanation and she says "your welcome", all snotty. I look it up and see that dealerships all over the country are covering the cost of high pressure fuel pump replacements because it is a known problem - and it leads to soot accumulation and exhaust system failures! They caused the problem and want me to thank them for covering the cost of half the repairs! Never buy a VW. Never buy from this dealership, and never get your service done here. Infuriating!!! read more
