We visited this place ages ago and needed bring the rest of the family. This place is has great food and welcoming atmosphere. My grandson loved the hushpuppies and cinnamon rolls, my daughter is obsessed with the fish stew. We all had great meals and the view of the water is nice, we didnt see any gators until we went back outside.

A must try when visiting the SC coast. Food is fresh and delicious. Service is always 5 Amazing early bird specials. You may get lucky and see a gator overlooking a beautiful pond!

The service was on point and the food was delicious and plentiful. They bring out hush puppies and cinnamon rolls when you are seated. We got a salad and fish soup with the meal. We sat by the window and could see the turtles in the water. The restaurant was bright and decorated in sea shore decorations. You won't leave hungry.

Service was amazing! Food was amazing! Ambiance was amazing! Waiter was amazing!10/10!

Always very good! Can't wait to go there when we're in N Myrtle. The fried seafood is very good-not over-cooked.

Kicked off the meal with some grouper bites. Wasn't sure what to expect from them, but pleasantly surprised. They were lightly battered. The grouper was light and flaky and really delicious. They give you a sauce called "Yum Yum" so dipping them in the sauce was a nice touch. Kicked off the meal with a nice fresh side salad with raspberry vinaigrette. Nicely done. Went with the blackened salmon dinner on rice. The server was terrific and very attentive and the meal came out quick and hot. The blackened salmon wasn't overly blackened. The fish was not fishy tasting. The rice and the steamed veggies were both terrific. Slide a cocktail in your hand and just kick back and relax. This is an excellent place.

Service was good with exception of having to go up to the bar to get by soda refilled. On the food, my wife ordered Clam Chowder and a fried Shrimp and Oyster basket. She said that the tasted mostly potatoes and little clam in the chowder. Her other issue was that the Oysters weren't fried enough for her. My granddaughter ordered Chicken pasta-she said it had a strange taste and didn't like it. I tasted it and there was a strong peppery taste that was off putting. I had Raw oysters which were fine and blackened grouper which was overcooked but okay. Just not as good as I heard and a price of $120 for 2 adults and 1 child.

Nick is an absolute legend!…read more We came to Portofino not knowing what to expect, and we left completely blown away -- and honestly, a huge part of that was our waiter, Nick. This guy is on another level. From the moment we sat down, Nick's energy, knowledge, and genuine passion for hospitality set the tone for the entire evening. He wasn't just taking our order -- he was curating an experience. Now let's talk about the Cacio e Pepe -- insanely good doesn't even begin to cover it. It was perfectly executed: silky, bold, with just the right bite of pepper. Classic done right. But you know what made it taste even better? Nick. He recommended it with such confidence and enthusiasm that we had to order it, and he absolutely delivered. Nick was attentive without being overbearing, knowledgeable without being pretentious, and just an all-around fantastic human being. He made us feel like VIP guests from start to finish -- checking in at exactly the right moments, offering spot-on suggestions, and keeping the whole experience flowing effortlessly. If you go to Portofino, you absolutely should ask for Nick by name. He is the kind of server that reminds you why going out to dinner is supposed to be a special occasion. We will 100% be back, and Nick is a big reason why. Portofino, you have a gem on your staff. Treat him well!
