Aug 23 2025: Pair of Red Wing Irish Setter boots dropped off for resoling. Estimated to take "maybe a week". Offered a $5 discount as I was a 'new customer' ($95 total). Four days later, the boots were ready. Great. Now, four month later the boots look horrible. I call them my Frankenstein boots. The 'heavy duty' soles are already wearing badly and appear to be separating.. I've seen better leather work by 13 year old Boy Scouts: Poor cuts, bad seams, loose stitching. They put about a 3/4" strip of leather around the top of the sole where there had been about a 1/4" strip. They used red leather and used what looks like black liquid shoe polish to make it look like black leather. People, timeliness, price (?) were acceptable. The family owned business are top notched craftsmen and seamtress. The adult son however, is loud, codensensing and most of downright rude. He yells at customers. I have always had excellent outcome with the work. But I can no longer accept his behavior and have refused to return. read more

If I could give this place 0 stars, I would. I took three pairs of shoes to this location, and the price was reasonable. I received a call 2 hours later from the gentleman's mother that her son could not repair the taps on my shoes. I went to pick them up the following day, but he was not there to explain. However, his mother gave me my shoes. He put a cheap tap on my boots, poorly fixed one pair of shoes to where the new tap was barely attached to the heel, and the last pair he did not fix altogether and took the perfectly good tap off the shoe, so now both shoes need new taps. I had to take my shoes to another shoe where the owner at the new shop couldn't tell that he had fixed the poorly done job. I will never go to this shop again. Stay away! I was charged a price to refurbish (new soles, new heels and clean up and polish of leather uppers) a pair of leather shoes, by a lady working the counter when I went in. When I went to pick them up, a gentleman, who spoke VERY loudly and was aggressive in his demeanor gave me the shoes with only the soles and heels replaced (and not a very professional job). The lady who took the shoes and charged me was not there. The leather uppers had not been touch and were a mess. When I asked about that, he said they were not repairable. I said that the lady at the counter who was working there when I took them in, and charged me, said it could be done. He became even louder and was even more aggressive and said that since I did not speak to him, it didn't matter and that I should have spoken to him. He further said the leather uppers were too dried out to repair. After several attempts to discuss why I would have only seals and heels replaced on a pair of shoes that could not be repaired, he kept saying I should have spoken to him....I said I would not have paid for new heels and sole if the uppers were not repairable. He just kept saying I should have spoken to him....I am filing a BBB complaint - Trust me, stay away! And, by the way, he was in the store when I dropped the shoes off and watched the interaction with the lady who was working the counter..... read more

I had a zipper replaced on a piece of luggage. The workmanship was good. When I went to pick it up the young man behind the counter yelled at me and told me I didn't know what I was doing with respect to the zippers. He didn't just do it once but he did it about three times. He was very disrespectful. He was belligerent. I will never set foot in this store again. I do not recommend the store. read more

Brought by my motorcycle boots to have an eyelet replaced, a day later he(owner) calls me to say he can't fix them. When I went to pick up my boots his mom was working and she was trying to help me when he(owner) walked in and started raising his voice to me that I need to listen to him and not his mother about how he can't help me. I was a little thrown, cause the boot company I bought them from offered to take them back , but I was trying to get them fixed locally so I didn't have to ship them and to also give some business to a local owner.
