DO NOT trust these guys with your shoes. I don't like or enjoy writing negative or one-star reviews…read more(feel free to take a peek at my history), but this shop not only did a poor job repairing our boots, but they also would not answer the phone and did not return my calls after taking almost six weeks to do the repair and not cleaning them as we paid for. So... back in early November, we took my daughter's favorite Levi's boots into get repaired because the outer sole had begun to separate from the leather. This shop has great reviews, so we decided to give it a shot (and also support small business). I liked the vibe when I walked in... they were nice and have clearly set prices, which I appreciated. They looked over the boots and said they would be no problem to repair. They also offered to clean them for a few dollars more, and I accepted, thinking it would be a nice surprise for my daughter. They asked me to pay for the repair and cleaning in advance, which was totally understandable and fine, and said they'd call me when they were done. We left and went on with life... Two weeks later, I stopped in during their listed business hours while running errands to check the repair status and the shop was closed. I was dismayed, but figured that (especially with small business), stuff comes up and shops need to close early sometimes. I called in the following Monday in the morning and no one answered. I left a message in their voicemail and did not receive a call back. I began to worry. I waited a couple of days - Wednesday - and called again... still no answer, left a message. No call back. The next time I stopped in, the following week, I was told they still had not gotten to the boots and the they'd call me when they were ready, as they told me when I brought them in. I reminded them it had been three weeks and he told me that they were backed up. I acquiesced and left. It was another two weeks and I called and went through the same cycle with them of; call, no answer, leave message, no return call... I did this for another week or so because I didn't have time to get over to the shop during their business hours. Then, on a Tuesday, after I had called and left a message for them AGAIN, I got a TEXT MESSAGE letting me know that my shoes were ready. (Seriously?) So, that Saturday, on our way to a birthday party, we stopped in and I had my daughter run in to pick up the boots while I made another stop. They were already paid for, so I didn't think there would be a problem. I came back and she hopped back in the car. We drove off to the birthday party. We got to the party and I asked her, "aren't you going to put on your boots?! I thought you missed them!"... and she held them up... they were not only just as dirty as when we dropped them off, but the sole was shoddily glued with VISIBLE streaks of glue along the sole and weren't even repaired all the way! Part of the sole was still not attached!! Ok, so at this point I'm annoyed with my kid because she should have said something and I would have got back into the store... but I'm more frustrated that I paid for a service (two services!) and got taken. As before, I've called and left messages asking if I can bring them back in to have the service we paid for done but still have not gotten a response. We will not be taking any shoes back here, and I do not recommend you do either.

Carlin Brooks owner and operator of the store totally destroyed my $300.00 handmade cowboy boots…read more The boots are just over 6 months old, barely worn; made of distressed leather which is a very unfinished look. I took them there just to have lips put on heels. He polished / waxed the boots totally destroying the natural finish; then convinced me that it could be undone. They are a disaster. Not to mention he altered the bottom of the boots, destroying the logo on the bottom of the boots to make them look worn, Anybody who is an expert in the shoe industry in order to justify his lie that the boots were old and worn out. An expert in his field should know these boots should not have been polished or waxed. Would you polish or wax suede. Same goes for distressed leather. Instead of taking responsibility for the error and making amends, he is accusing me of trying to scam him for a new pair of boots. REALLY? Apparently, Mr. Briooks, my shoes are not the only ones that you have managed to jacked up and not take responsibility for. I will see you in court...Word on the street is he's skipping town to Florida.

This location is currently limiting two customers at a time. It is a small store front so I…read moreunderstand the capacity. It's getting colder, so I would take this into consideration. We went in looking for a specific style of work boot. On their website, you are not able to order anything - you will be directed to buy in-store. I am thinking that this has to do with commission and to ensure customers get the proper fit. My bf got his feet measured by a little pad on the floor that uses thermal (and pressure?) points to check your foot side and arches (or lack there of). It was pretty cool to see exactly how his feet looked on the screen! We ended up purchasing a brown he didn't exactly want, because their system has been down for 5 weeks according to the store associate. They aren't sure when orders are coming in or when they will be fulfilled. He actually had to run my card through a phone number and wrote us a paper receipt. Overall, I think that with Red Wing, you are paying for quality and the fact that they have good warranties on their boots (especially for the working man!) but their services right now are limited due to COVID-19.

He truly exemplifies a consummate professional who went above and beyond to ensure that I had the best fitting experience ever. Between the boots issued to us in the Marines years ago, I needed a pair that would alleviate pressure on my spine and back. Due to the extensive trips, it is essential to have a pair of boots that cradle my feet. JJ laser measured my feet and took a stride test. I have incredible insoles now that truly eliminate pain when I walk. I will be a loyal customer to this specific Red Wings to see JJ. Thanks!!! GG Murphy
