The restaurant is beautifully decorated for Christmas! Very festive. We loved the train car you can sit in. We were just picking up but would love to have you eaten in. The hostess was very sweet and the wait was short. We all loved what we ordered. The ingredients were fresh and tasty. We will go back for sure!

So we went on st Patrick day. This place is so cute all the fun decorations. They had a guy playing music and a dance floor. We did have reservations. The food fantastic service was great. We had the Ruben egg roll, salad, onion soup, cream chicken soup , burger, corned beef , mahi mahi, chicken piccata , a strawberry shortcake and the chocolate tower. And leftover the next day was delicious. All of us enjoyed everything we had. Always like going here.

I had the cedar plank salmon with mashed potatos and veggies. The honey bourbon sauce was amazing. Everything cooked perfectly. Jose/Zoro, Sara and Michelle are phenomenal and will have me coming back.

We took our grandkids there for an early dinner in the train car facing the train tracks. Our waitress was so kind and quick to serve us with 2 and 5 yr old kids. She helped make it special. It was a Thursday night. They ate Mac n cheese and chicken nuggets.

The food is very lackluster in flavor. I had a Chessie's chopped salad and it was okay. I asked for no bacon because I don't eat it. I didn't notice the menu said it contained olives, which I can't stand. Okay, my bad. But the amount of olives compared to the size of the salad is ridiculous. I felt like I spent more time picking out the olives than eating the small (for the price) salad. My grandson ordered a grilled cheese with bacon, which he said was okay. However, bacon was only on half the sandwich. And the homemade chips he asked for were overcooked. It came with a large pickle slice (not listed on the menu) which he doesn't like. The juice from the pickle slice ran all over the plate making his sandwich and chips taste like pickles and the chips soggy. The rainbow sherbet was NOT sherbet, but rather a disgusting mix of colors that was ice cream. Rainbow sherbet is supposed to have a citrus tang to it. This did not!!! Suffice it to say, I will not be back to this overrated restaurant. They really need to do better.

The Ice House Mall is absolutely amazing. Chessie's anchors the west side of the mall and Sundial Brewing and Blending anchors the other end of the mall. The chocolate mousse tower is amazing find. It is beautifully decorated, with a dark & white chocolate exterior and decadent mousse filling the interior of the chocolate shell. Miriam was so kind to help me with the menu. It did not disappoint. Thank you!!

When we happen to be around Barrington at mealtime, Chessie's has been our go-to. I'm a railfan and I particularly enjoy dining in their railroad car, which long ago operated on what is today the Metra Electric. Most recently, we had lunch here with a group and I experienced their banquet service for the first time. The brusque and scowling servers performed as though they would much rather be someplace else. They strived to keep service at the barest minimum. I had to request a glass of water 3 times. Refill the bread basket? This also took 3 requests. A decent house salad was served first. My entrée (one of three pre-ordered choices) was London broil. Diners should have been asked their preference for doneness - all portions were served well-done. Now, I can understand diners disliking slabs of red meat that all but say, "Moo!" but no, no, no, London broil should NEVER be cooked past medium-rare! Only the mushroom gravy made this dried-out gnaw palatable. The accompanying garlic mashed potatoes were actually the best thing on the plate.

What a nice time. We met friends at the Wild Onion - haven't been there is probably 20 years or…read moremore. It looks very much the same - there is a bar in front with stools around the bar and high top tables. The restaurant is in the back. They have a nice menu with lots of variety and some gluten-free options. Our server came by the table right away to take our drink orders. I ordered a vodka martini - what the bartender made was something called a French martini - I sent it back and they brought me what I'd originally ordered. It was very good. I read through many of the reviews before ordering. My usual at a place like this is a hamburger. But the reviews were very mixed so I decided I would try the Bourbon Chicken Sandwich with tater tots. My partner had a Reuben made with turkey (a Rachel - not on the menu) and sweet potato fries. My Bourbon Chicken was really good. In fact, I recommend it. The Rachel was also very good. The sweet potato fries were outstanding. The tots were okay. It's very rustic in the dining room, which fits very well with their menu. It's also very large. The service was outstanding. And, it was pretty quiet in the dining room so the five of us could have good conversations without having to yell.

The main…read morereception hall features a large stone window behind the wedding party table, and there is a patio just outside that overlooks the water, which makes for a gorgeous setting. While Wild Onion is clearly a great venue for events, it is also a restaurant and brewery, so I am focusing this review more on the food and dining experience. We ate here for my cousin's wedding rehearsal dinner and were seated in a red carpeted room connected to the main reception hall. Unfortunately, this space felt out of place compared to the rest of the venue. It did not match the elegant vibe of the main hall and was a bit dark and dingy, which was somewhat off-putting at first. Service-wise, our waitress was wonderful. She was sweet, personable, and had a fun, upbeat personality that helped improve the overall experience right at the beginning. For my meal, I ordered the Kickin' Chicken Sandwich ($17). It is a hand-breaded chicken breast topped with honey garlic sauce, pepper jack cheese, bacon, chipotle mayo, and fried jalapenos. The sandwich had a really nice balance of flavors and was easy to eat, but despite the name, it was not spicy at all. I enjoyed it, though I did find the portion a bit small, and it did not fill me up. I chose cheese curds as my side, and those were a highlight. They were crispy, flavorful, and absolutely delicious. Also, because I am currently pregnant, I had an absolutely delicious mocktail. I sadly don't remember the name of the one I ordered, but I am here to say that it had a good balance of flavors. Overall, Wild Onion has a large menu with a wide variety of options, along with many different side choices, some for an additional charge. There truly is something for everyone. While the rehearsal dinner space itself was not ideal, the food, service, and overall selection still made for a positive experience.

We ordered the Pop Over Rolls to start off our meal and they were some of the best rolls I've ever had. I really liked that they had a hint of cheese and the butter was also delightful. To eat, I ordered the Summer Corn Ravioli and it was one of my favorite pasta dishes I've probably ever had. I did get it without the mushrooms as I typically am not a fan of mushrooms but the ravioli was perfectly cooked and the flavors were simply divine. My party also ordered various meat dishes that they all raved about as well. We did order the brussel sprouts and asparagus to share - I enjoyed the asparagus but did not try the brussel sprouts given they had bacon in them. We didn't order dessert BUT did get a fantastic vanilla cake with raspberry sauce for dessert that our server brought given it was my mom's birthday dinner. The cake was SO delicious and I was very happy we got it! To top it off, our service was amazing throughout and it was an overall wonderful experience. Thank you, The Greggory team, for a great first experience! We cannot wait to be back!

Absolutely amazing, and they debone right at your table. Also had the crab pasta and had a good taste of our friends market Wagyu steak. It was like butter. Keep in mind. This is not going to be cheap though. If you're gonna go to this place, expect not only excellent service but not your McDonald's prices. Saw a couple of the next table come in and order a hamburger and fries. Seriously? You come to this place for a burger and fries? (Lol). I'm sure the burger and fries was excellent, but this place is not known to be a burger joint, even though it's on the menu but again, to each his or her own. I wouldn't come here just to have a burger. There are many other places that do that. Step it up a little. Come here for a higher tier of food caliber. That being said: Our server was excellent. The manager along with the chef / the wine "professor"- (he was excellent as well- extremely knowledgeable, and paired our bottle of wine perfectly with all our meals) along with everyone else who came by to check on us. But our server was absolutely attentive and great. He wasn't pushy and he was very easy-going but very astute and had all the attention to detail. So hopefully we made his night when we came to the tip. (we weren't slouches, nope.). I wish I remembered his name, it wasn't a typical name, but he was outstanding. That being said, make sure that you pack away a couple "bones" when you see the check- also make sure that you tip your waiter for the outstanding job that they do. So don't skimp on that either. So again: It isn't cheap, but a place like this shouldn't be. We had a great experience overall- Also, this isn't your T-shirt and shorts type of place. You have to dress up. No schleps.. Capeesh?!!? leave your sandals at home. Which it should be. This is an experience, not your local In-N-Out Burger joint. Excellent and tasteful decor- excellent service highly highly highly recommend.
